I bought the 2015. I had it for a year before I found out the 3rd row could even recline. I wound up riding in the third row when I was on a long drive with family, we took turns. driving/riding. The third row was super-comfortable to me, I was able to nap a little. I'm 5'10". I've had mine for close to two years now, it's the best vehicle purchase I've ever made. I've gone from Houston to Tuscon with five people. I've moved a full size server rack across Houston. My wife is the primary driver. When my boy was younger and it took more work to strap him in she could stand up. During the long 5 people trip we only had one of the third row seats laying down stuffed with luggage. I've been able to hit 30 MPG on the highway when the thing was well tuned and empty except for the driver, no traffic, you know practically perfect fuel economy conditions, but right at 30 none the less. Bang for the buck this is hard to beat for a family vehicle, especially if you're like me and you do some work with it on the side. That and I have taken a sleeping bag and slept in it. The floor is hard, I recommend more padding than I had, especially if you're 40 like I am, it was easier when I was younger.
Seriously the best, most thorough vehicle review I've seen on UA-cam. You seem to be the only person who talks about the "little things" that I find important - like folding seats and cubbies. Keep up the great work!
Even though this video is 4 years old, he does the best review of the cargo area with the seats folded. I hope that the 2020s have the same seat folding flat feature. I need it for camping.
I bought a 2016 used with 12k miles. Now has 25k. Quick review: The Good: I bought this as a surf-mobile. It is great in that regard. Holds a 9'6" long board with the front passenger seat folded down. If I take a friend, we sit tandem. Minimizes chatter. Boards stay low and don't impair visibility. They are also secure inside if I stop for coffee and burrito after surfing. It parks like a dream. Overhead storage is great to keep stuff out of sight. Recommended add-on is the keypad remote that you can stick on the outside. That completes the surfing package. I also got weathertech floor mats to corral the sand. They are great. The Not-good: Fuel economy is not great. I see 23-24 mpg mostly highway single occupant. The climate control fans are loud at level 3 and super loud at 4. And yet, I feel like the AC really isn't doing a great job. Expect to replace the throttle body. Mine went out on day 3 of ownership. I think this is a well known Ford issue. The unforgivable: there is no switch to turn on/off all the internal lights that you would expect. You can dim the dash lights but there is no roller for the overheads. There are three individually controlled overheads and from the driver seat you can only reach the front ones. More light complaints! When you open any door all the exterior light turn on. It is like landing lights and a disco ball had a baby. There is no option in the software to control this function. There is a secret maneuver where you push the turn signal forward then pull back and it will beep and turn off the externals. Until the next door is opened. I don't think this will make you many friends at the campground or star party. Pro tip: the liftgate needs a lot of clearance behind the van to open. Jerks will love to park right behind you so that the gate cannot be opened. When parallel parking look for spots where no one can park behind you.
The height is what attracted me. Headroom 6 inches higher than any other truck, van, SUV or sedan on the market. The only thing my tall torso can get into without crunching my neck sideways each time.
Bought the XLT LWB Passenger 6 months ago for just the reasons you described. Drives fine, good handling, decent MPG. I live close to the city and park in a garage at work Downtown. Fantastic for squeezing in a narrow space....actually narrower than most full-size cars. I love the space inside...breathing room in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Not the cheapest way to go, but definitely unique...get so many comments everywhere I go..."What is that?" "That's cool looking" ...Everyone amazed at the air space inside. No it's not perfect, but I wanted simple and easy to use for light utility/people hauling/short trips which it does very well..
Honestly I’m here because my Lyft driver tonight owns one of these but an older version. I hopped in and immediately said “This is so cool.” I had to make sure I remembered the name of the model when I got out. I’m looking at used ones to potentially buy in my area because I’m definitely interested now.
I have 175 K miles driving two gen 1 Transit's for work and they are excellent work vans ! Having sliding side doors on both sides is a time and safety bonus. Today we got new 2016s and they are alot shorter but longer. Average real world fuel mileage was just under 26 MPG and that was 160 mile route in N AZ with serious altitude climbs.
The van is 5 " shorter in height in the cargo area. I have the long wheelbase model and it has about 3' more length. I find that it is more usable space unless your cargo is tall. I have 3K on the van now and after the break in rich tune the new van is getting 28 mpg and hauls ass. It is fast smooth comfortable and stable. It has the 1.6 Ecoboost that is a big improvement over the 2.5 l non turbo. the steering is speed sensitive and the backup camera is also great. My only compliant is the Ford Sync is overly complicated to use.It works fine but isn't easy to use.
I am a carpenter and I bought one last year in lieu of a truck. the ride is better, and with all the seats down (even the front passenger folds flat), I can fit a 12 foot piece of lumber in it. As for the power, it's not a Sportscar, but if you put the transmission in manual mode and select the gear with the thumb switch, it will shift at 6,000 rpms...and that will really wake up the hamsters!
I can say that I have the 2013 ford focus se, and that thumb select shift button is very efficient in being WAY more responsive at control than having the computer system select when to shift. It makes the world the difference and is probably why I have that model still to this day haha.
I loved your review. It is spot on. I went out and purchased a used 2015 XLT LWB wagon for 16k with 16k miles and it was everything you said. Great vehicle. Really impressed with it. The only downside is the Microsoft Sync had problems hooking up to the cellphone. The Sirius XM radio works great. Handles like a sports car. Ford has a winner in my book with the Transit Connect. Thank you for helping me choose this vehicle for my personal transportation.
I have a connect that I use for my plumbing business. I often dream of removing my shelving and converting it into a tiny camper and travel the U.S. From what I figure I could drive from CA to the east coast for only around 400 dollars in fuel! Next time my wife pisses me off I'm gone!!!!
Great review, Greg! I've been a little obsessed with this latest generation T.C. since it debuted, and I've been surprised at the absence of thoughtful consideration. Mind you, I don't own one yet but it's on my short list of next cars to consider. Your review joins Jalopnik's as one of two that I find hit the marks for me. I'm an outdoors loving city dweller, and one really notable benefit of this van (or minivan or MPV or whatever Ford wants to call it) is that it's not as wide as so many SUVs and the minivan trifecta from Honda, Toyota, Chrysler, plus some others. You're spot on: the narrowness will makes it so much easier to drive in the city--narrow streets and tight parking spots abound in my city, so this appeals. The next thing is the tallness. I take off with my family to the trails, lakes, rivers, and slopes whenever we can, depending on the season, with bikes, skis, or paddled craft. For that reason, I love that this vehicle is crafted with tall ceilings well suited for cargo but also has clever seating for 7. The minivans that call themselves minivans (aside: yes, I'd call this a van and it's small so perhaps it's mini, but wagon suits it well too) are really people movers first with some well done cargo ability built in, kinda the inverse approach, in my view. An offering that would make the T.C. extra appealing to me would be all wheel drive. But a car can't be all things for all people. But anyway, I see Transit Connect as the modern day VW microbus begging for a Westfalia makeover and also the natural replacement and improvement over the brilliant but canceled Honda Element. Thanks for your review!
what you did not mention and is the reason why i love this vehicle is that I was able to costumize it very easily due to being in the cargo class of transit still. I did not want carpet and was able to order it without, all other vans I could not do this.
Best review. Thanks for demonstrating the seats and how they fold down. the salesman at the local ford dealership didn't even know that it was possible. I might buy one after walking away because of the seats issue.
I just Love your review, Greeg I was looking for the perfect ride for my 3 kids and my wife. Coming from a Routan SEL to a Fusion SE was a big step down. But times are better now and We decide is time for a new minivan. Looking for a minivan reviews on UA-cam, I ended with this video. After that my quest to find her did start. After 2 month I did find one LWB Titanium Version in Houston, Tx. Let me tell you that everything you did said is true. Height is great, space fantastic, Handling wow, the engine run smooth and the transmission is strong. Regarding the ride is one of the best in my life. Yes everybody point her as king of weird. But she is a nice looking wagon. Regarding the price. Cost me 22K with 17K miles in the Dealer Ship. A great deal for the package. Bottom line is a great vehicle and as you mention if Ford make some improvement on the Gen 3. this is a winner. Been a former user of a VW Routan SEL this mean a lot. Thank you so much Your review is great.
Nice review! Quite thorough and better than many of the "big name" reviews. I recently purchased a 2015 LWB 7-passenger version. I was probably the target audience as I wanted a cheap urban family (4 person) transport with alot of cargo capability and the ability to occasionally move 7 people. I've been really pleased by the handling, mileage and parallel parkability here in Chicago and I'm charmed by the style and headroom. When looking for a car, my vanity was steering me away from the look of traditional minivans and the only similar contender was the now-discontinued Mazda5. The TC Wagon is definitely a VERY stripped down vehicle. Even the top trim models is far below most standard minivans. However, it lacks nothing I need. Oddly these can be rather hard to find at dealerships, but (likely because no one knows about them) used models seem to be quite affordable. I found plenty of one year old examples for around 20k and mine was considerably less. As your review rightly points out, there are enough possible drawbacks/quirks that it's not for everyone, but anyone looking for any sort of van, wagon or an alternative to an SUV should at least try one out.
I have a 2014 Cargo. I also have rented the Ram and NV200, both of which seem a little spunkier but do not have very gutsy driver right arm rests and consoles (believe me, a broken arm rest spoils a van instantly). My head gets impaled on the stuff that keeps the rear door closed. I wish the front 12v outlet could be switch to on only when driving, so that I could add a dash cam. I added a halogen light to the cargo area, very good to have.
Thank you! I just happened to run across this particular model on the Carmax website when I was searching for a newer vehicle. Didn't know exactly WHAT I wanted. Kept looking at this and that...then saw this beauty in a fantastic blue color. I've always driven smallish vehicles. I adored the "look" but was afraid it would be too big and boxy for me to comfortably drive. Your review has allayed those fears and was the last piece of the puzzle in my research...insurance rates are good, crash tests are good, and I believe I can drive it comfortably. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go for it!
Have now gone to a dealership and actually driven/ridden in one of these. I was very pleasantly surprised at the low interior noise level. I guess I was expecting it to be really noisy and I do appreciate your honesty about it being noisy when driven. However, compared to my current vehicle, a 2013 Nissan Versa sedan, the Transit Connect is much quieter. I believe I will own one of these 2016 models before too long :)
an excellent presentation. you knocked so called professional company people to the curb with style and great editing. by the way, I love these wagons for camping
This is the first honest transit connect review I've watched that gave a full look at it with a drive as well. Can you do a review of the 2016 Ford flex? I think you would really enjoy reviewing that.
Thanks from Britain for a helpful and engaging review. I'm considering the UK equivalent and your style is more compelling than the rather straight comments on the vehicle available here, although you reach similar conclusions mainly. You've helped influence my decision in favour of this motor. Thanks again
I like it. As you mentioned I think it would be perfect for driving the family in the city, getting mulch from Home Depot or carrying computer parts from client to client. Thanks for the review!
Think this review was helpful. I just purchased a 2016 Transit Connect LWB just like what is in the video for 18.7k, with 14k miles on it I'm happy with the deal. Ford even put a 7yrs 100k power train warranty on it. I think what truly sold me though was the coolness factor. I'm a young family guy and when I go to the ball field there will be 300 Honda odysseys and them me in my Ford Transit Wagon!
This is the perfect side hustle vehicle! A lot of option and a bit more affordable than some of the other mini-vans. It’s great for Uber driving, catering, delivering services... I love this “van”!
I've been considering a vehicle like this for this purpose after seeing my roommate have a solid time with uber. Do you have any tips or ideas I should be aware of?
All the advice I can give you can be given by your roommate no doubt. See what helps your roommate be successful and go from there. My only advice is to make sure Uber approves the use of the Transit van in your area. Lyft is cool with this model, but Uber is a bit sketchy.
@@luperamos7307 Actually as a Lyft driver you get more rides with a minivan than a Corolla. A minivan allows you to get larger parties of passengers, rides sponsored by medical insurance companies, and Lyft-X rides (a request for a larger vehicle and which pays double). I imagine Uber does the same.
Good review, I am single retired man, and I like the drive and look of this wagon. Im stuck in my lease of my Leaf for some yrs, but after that Im thinking I will get one next time around. Bill M
i have a 2016 model and from day one i enjoyed the drive so smooth and so quiet we are changing our car next year and i have looked around at others but must say i cant find anything to beat it i dont think theres anything on the market that can out do this car
Some things to mention about those huge visors. One, Ford should use those magnets to hold them up to the shelf when stored. They are pretty heavy and will start to sag eventually. Two, they are short and don't cover the whole drivers side window, but also slide back on the mounting rod to cover the end you need.
I inherited one from my late stepmother. I'm 51 so I don't worry about looking Kool. The sound system works really good so I play Russian hardbass on my commute in Central Wisconsin. I love it when the 🦌 deer look up and say " Cyka eta Wisconsin gopnik! Vashlee or he's going to turn us into shashlik!"
I have the Transit Titanium 2016, LWB. Love this van and bought it at a very good price in 2017. The only issue I've had is with the SYNC system - it's clumsy, at best. I use this to commute, to haul grandkids, to haul dogs, and to carry all the gear for 5 kayaks. We had them put a trailer hitch on as a condition of the sale - which is great but not as good as buying the factor installed towing package. One inconvenience, buying the crossbars for the raised (but no gap) roof mounts was nearly impossible and Ford wants $500+ for those. I did find a knock off online and we'll see how well that works. If I have one complaint, it's that the clips they use inside and outside the van to hold everything in place tend to be a bit cheap and we've had a few break. While we do give this van heavy use, it's not that heavy that any clips should have been broken. We're at 50,000 miles and have replaced the tires. No brakes yet, though that can't be too far away. We've had no engine repairs. Best small feature - that overhead storage. We just bought a Ford Flex and boy do we wish that was standard on all vans/wagons now. We're about to take the seats out and convert this to a weekend camping van. It would be GREAT if Ford would make quick release seats. I don't mind taking them in and out, but it would be super useful if they had a quick release system.
I would get the short wheelbase version of this without the 3rd row seating which is about 300 lbs lighter. That will improve mpg and acceleration numbers a bit. This is probably a step up from my rather crude 2006 Honda Element EX-P that I will be selling in the near future.
Yes. With a trade I ended up getting my payment down to 166 a month. I couldn't pass that kind of deal. I saved a 100 dollars a month trading in my 2015 Jeep Wrangler. I loved the wrangler but the gas mileage became an issue, as well as the storage capability. This will become a minimal camper van as I travel throughout the summer months.
I like this Transit Connect vehicle. I drive for Uber and think it would be great to take people around in. I do a lot of airport trips to LAX and sometimes it's a real challenge to get all the pieces of luggage into the car along with my fold-up 20" bike in the back, which I use to commute to the rent-a-car place, to pick up a 2016 Prius 3. I'm also looking at the new Prius V, but the Ford T.C. XTL has wheelchair compatibility, with a few modifications to the seat, in a folding sense. I can see it all. Now if I only had the money to make it happen.
But you would earn the same money with the Transit as you would with a Prius or Corolla. And the gas mileage and price of the other vehicles is much cheaper.
Thanks for the unbiased review. You hinted several times how it won't replace a traditional minivan. Having kids, one realizes the true value of a not so "mini"van. I can't this van beating my Odyssey on any front, even in the congested NYC metro area. I wish the automakers would stop trying to convince us that euro spec autos are better.
I agree, the Transit Connect Wagon and 3 row crossovers really highlight how superior real minivans are on passenger space, cargo, and handling. I think Ford is selling these to businesses that want a small cargo van but occasionally need seats. There may be more space for theses wagons if all minivans continue to move up to $40k+ luxury barges.
+Kamaka Chang I also didn't do a good job of highlighting how easy it is to get in and out of the Transit...probably a big selling point for those businesses you mentioned. Good thoughts! -Greg
Hey Greg...def go used for the Honda. I bought a new one in '05. lasted until it got totalled..."and they walked away". The second was a 09 bought in '12, fully loaded. Never could i afford a $40k+ van new. But used.....eh...such a deal! Good luck.
enjoyed that back window camera shooting forward angle. i think, from the gas milage perspective, in many ways it could just make sense to go with a cross over. seems like the real advantage this vehicle has is the narrowness. seems every time a new shopping center goes in, the parking spaces are getting narrower and narrower.
I specifically was interested in the gen 1 Transit Connect, because I wanted the high cargo capacity, which was reduced in the 2014. Didn't realize they still sold the original version, so I got a 2013 Transit Connect. I like the shorter length and barn doors; the LWB one seemed more a standard minivan than the original version.
Unless they upgraded the handles in the front seats those are not meant for repeated use. I used one of these at my old work and the driver side one eventually broke.
Thanks for the review. I really like this because you can get it in a bright red ext color. However it seems like a cargo van with some seats tossed in. I also can't see buying a 4 cylinder wagon (minivan). Think its going to take a beating in the mountains esp with AC turned on. Probably good for certain short journey travelers. Even with the LWB you are not going to fit a lot of camping equipment inside. Thanks for helping me make up my mind about 2016 Ford Transit Connect TitaniumBlessings,John 20:29
Thanks for such an honest review. I'm very close to purchasing a 2016 Connect Titanium -- the only problem I am having is my apprehension about how it will handle in the winter--- do you have any insight on this? My second choice is the Ford Explorer-- but the connect seems so much more practical (and cheaper) to me.
I know this is a 3yr old review but its solid one (the Euro version of this is call the Tourneo Connect iirc). They still havn't made any improvements to the seats, i'd like to see them fold flat into the floor, they have plenty of room to do this. The choice of engines seems very limited over here (UK), no 2L or 2.5L's only 1.6 and now a 1.5 diesel in the newer versions with I think a ecoboost 1L petrol. Why am i looking at one; the estates we get (you call them wagons ?) are these days all 'compact' estates and really don't give you any more boot space then some large hatchback / saloons; this on the other hand has miles of space for like you pointed out bikes and such not; though am not sure i could live with it for a daily car to go to work and back, feels more like the weekend get stuff done / go places type of car. Some of the top spec ones don't look too bad in the pasion red / black or racing blue with the 17" wheels and all the extra kit you get with them puts some of the more expensive mpv's to shame.
Nice review. No mention though of road clearance or interior height as compared to minivans. I believe the Transit Connect is about 10 inches higher inside? And about 1 inch or more higher in road clearance than minivans.
not sure on that one. It might have smidge more ground clearance, but not in a noticeable way. Interior height however it much better, as evidenced by my side by side shots
I have a 2014 short wheel base. major fault is backing up. -like looking out of a cave. I still don't trust the backup camera. things I like: doesn't have those unnecessary huge tires the SUVs all have, it has a smaller footprint than most sedans making it easy to park. Remember the old 70s and 90s sales pitch? longer, lower, and wider? this one sports shorter, taller and narrower. fairly quiet ride. stable handling and feels like it has a much lower center of gravity than most vans or SUVs (And I own a 928 Porsche)
Quick question: Do you know if the seatbelts of the folding seats can be utilized even when the seats are folded down? I'm intrigued about getting one of these so my dogs can travel in the back with everything laid down but they have their own special seatbelts that attach to their harnesses and plug into regular seatbelt openings.
Nice review, it's very euro like van and reminds me of the keicar minivans from japan too, I'm not pretty sure it would sell very good there, but in south america would be a nice option. Hope to see more videos, thanks Greg!
These things are insanely popular here in London, i'm not sure if they will be able to convince many American buyers, despite it being a brilliant vehicle.
Can the back seats all be removed completely from van and if so would that give you even more floor to ceiling headspace? I’m struggling between buying an old 2010-2012 transit connect cargo verse a connect passenger. I know the no seats and not fabric interior for cargo but are the heights of the floors different due to the seats needing some sort of connection ports. Almost seems the passenger vans have some sort of raised floors. Basically I need to know which van will have the highest floor to ceiling length for optimal ability to make a stealth camper with as much room as possible
Meh, I built and priced one... fully loaded for $29k... I'll jump on that than a $50k Chrysler Pacifica with comparable options (the Caravan and T&C is going away next year)
Good job on the review! I test drove a TC cargo, and was just about to get it when I saw the Mercedes Metris. It blows the Ford away in my opinion. How about a comparison review?
I'm looking at buying a 2014 Transit connect XLT LWB, I'm wanting to know the specs of the cargo space. I transport dogs. Wanting to know if I can fit 2 700 series crates. That measure 48L x 32W x 35H. Any help would be grateful thank you.
I am planning on taking a road trip from Connecticut to Denver Colorado and I was inquiring about renting one of these do you think it is a good idea for a long road trip like that three and a half days
Perfect vehicle for the Uber XL platform. I bought one just for Ubering. But theirs definitely better options in the minivan spectrum for personal use :P
Works well! just keep in mind with all 7 seats taken up there isn't a whole lot of room for luggage so it may not be the best for certain airport runs. But otherwise you cant beat the gas mileage and head room :)
Good review, but tends to be a little critical comparing this to minivans while admitting it's not a minivan. Let's be honest, this is a small truck with some seats in it. Reviewer would do well to say that bc a prospective buyer will then recognize that some of the quirks like noise level and less than great seating comfort can be expected in a truck with seating added to make it a wagon. It's a little disappointing the price might exceed a more luxurious minivan. But I have heard cheap minivans, such as Chrysler are more trouble prone and expensive to repair since they all have six cylinder engines, powered doors etc. The four cylinder non-turbo w/manual sliding doors is appealing to me for that reason. I was close to considering the small Ram bc I liked it has seating for five and a flat floor in back, but have heard that the 11 speed automatic is troublesome. Another thing the Ford might have over cheaper minivans is build quality. Yes, I know Fords and all others are not the vehicles our grandparents owned. But quality should still be a major criterion to consider when buying any vehicle no matter how Euro sexy it may seem. I'm disappointed Nissan is not doing a small wagon. That leaves Ford as my only option.
46. Yes. Padding !
good review. thanks. how's your mpg nowadays? any major issues since you got it?
You had me at server rack.
Do you still have this vehicle? How has it been working out for you?
Seriously the best, most thorough vehicle review I've seen on UA-cam. You seem to be the only person who talks about the "little things" that I find important - like folding seats and cubbies. Keep up the great work!
Even though this video is 4 years old, he does the best review of the cargo area with the seats folded. I hope that the 2020s have the same seat folding flat feature. I need it for camping.
I bought a 2016 used with 12k miles. Now has 25k. Quick review:
The Good: I bought this as a surf-mobile.
When parallel parking look for spots where no one can park behind you.
knormie Great review, thanks for posting.
thanks for sharing. how bad is that throttle body replacement? would you buy the van again?
thanks for chiming in!
geez man mine is fully loaded with shelving and plumbing supplies and tools. I get 32+ hwy mpg. I wonder what's different?
Your lighting description made me snort. I'm glad you described the secret movement, because I saw it being done and had to idea what it was for.
No it's not perfect, but I wanted simple and easy to use for light utility/people hauling/short trips which it does very well..
thanks for sharing your real world experiences.

You need to watch your own video again. So, that you can see where you went wrong. 3 main issues I have with this video.
Ali
Honestly I’m here because my Lyft driver tonight owns one of these but an older version. I hopped in and immediately said “This is so cool.” I had to make sure I remembered the name of the model when I got out. I’m looking at used ones to potentially buy in my area because I’m definitely interested now.
I have 175 K miles driving two gen 1 Transit's for work and they are excellent work vans ! Having sliding side doors on both sides is a time and safety bonus. Today we got new 2016s and they are alot shorter but longer. Average real world fuel mileage was just under 26 MPG and that was 160 mile route in N AZ with serious altitude climbs.
a lot shorter but longer? Do you mean cargo area vs overall length?
The van is 5 " shorter in height in the cargo area. I have the long wheelbase model and it has about 3' more length. I find that it is more usable space unless your cargo is tall. I have 3K on the van now and after the break in rich tune the new van is getting 28 mpg and hauls ass. It is fast smooth comfortable and stable. It has the 1.6 Ecoboost that is a big improvement over the 2.5 l non turbo. the steering is speed sensitive and the backup camera is also great. My only compliant is the Ford Sync is overly complicated to use.It works fine but isn't easy to use.
How long did this car last you in terms of mileage?
I am a carpenter and I bought one last year in lieu of a truck. the ride is better, and with all the seats down (even the front passenger folds flat), I can fit a 12 foot piece of lumber in it. As for the power, it's not a Sportscar, but if you put the transmission in manual mode and select the gear with the thumb switch, it will shift at 6,000 rpms...and that will really wake up the hamsters!
Hey there, a question about the Ford Transit Connect LWB... Will it fit a 4x8' piece of plywood or gypsum board?
I can say that I have the 2013 ford focus se, and that thumb select shift button is very efficient in being WAY more responsive at control than having the computer system select when to shift. It makes the world the difference and is probably why I have that model still to this day haha.
Do you still have this vehicle? If yes, how many miles?.
Thank you for helping me choose this vehicle for my personal transportation.
thanks for sharing?.. any updates?
I have a connect that I use for my plumbing business. I often dream of removing my shelving and converting it into a tiny camper and travel the U.S. From what I figure I could drive from CA to the east coast for only around 400 dollars in fuel! Next time my wife pisses me off I'm gone!!!!
Has she pissed you off yet? 😁

I know what you mean. Gotta get one of the just in case my wife kicks me out of my house.
I just Love your review, Greeg
I was looking for the perfect ride for my 3 kids and my wife.
Thank you so much
Your review is great.
+USA4US wow, thanks for the compliment! I'm also man enough to promote minivans!
-thanks for watching.

If they offered their hybrid technology on that I’d be chomping at the bit for that as a next family car.
Hybrid and AWD would be awesome.
Great minds think alike!? Thanks for watching and good luck with your purchase.
-Greg
I'm a young family guy and when I go to the ball field there will be 300 Honda odysseys and them me in my Ford Transit Wagon!
thanks for sharing. i'm looking to get a 2016 too. do you have any updates on yours?
Do you still have the vehicle? How has it been holding up?.
Why for Uber? You get paid the same as you would get paid using a Corolla, which is much cheaper in terms of price and gas
Bill M
I am lucky to have one of these, and I love it.
i have a 2016 model and from day one i enjoyed the drive so smooth and so quiet we are changing our car next year and i have looked around at others but must say i cant find anything to beat it i dont think theres anything on the market that can out do this car
Shocking fuel economy figures. In the UK this vehicle will return 50 -60 mpg.for the 1.5TDCi. Ford Tourneo Connect 1.5TDCi Titanium.
Some things to mention about those huge visors.
One, Ford should use those magnets to hold them up to the shelf when stored. They are pretty heavy and will start to sag eventually.
Two, they are short and don't cover the whole drivers side window, but also slide back on the mounting rod to cover the end you need.
thanks for sharing, good points!
-Greg
Do you still have this car? How long did it last you if you don't mind me asking?
I would get the short wheelbase version of this without the 3rd row seating which is about 300 lbs lighter. That will improve mpg and acceleration numbers a bit. This is probably a step up from my rather crude 2006 Honda Element EX-P that I will be selling in the near future.
I took my transit connect through Utah and Wyoming. The big front glass was a big hit! Very nice
How many miles do you have on there if you don't mind me asking?
@@luperamos7307 mine is at 68k now. Bought new in 2018
Thanks for the video. I'm looking at a used 2016 and this was exactly the review I was hoping to find. Count me in as a new subscriber.
I purchased a 16 XL LWB Cargo Van today... paid 21,000 with 4 miles on it. Crossing the country and sleeping in it, can't beat it for the price.
+Daniel Duarte $21K OTD?
Great thoughts, and rock on for the lifestyle use!
-Greg
Does that mean 21K after your trade in? What was the price before the trade in value was subtracted?
i'm looking at getting a 2016 with 95k miles. how do you still like yours?
How does the traction control work in snow? I prefer 4wd or awd. Will the reaction control work well enough to do the job on a snow covered hill?
Nice review, excellent camera angles, covered it all tyvm.
Just bought a 2015 diesel model to be honest I love it every manufacturer has their pros and cons but this jumped out at me the most
thanks for stopping by and chiming in! Diesel would be cool.
@@gcavy1 I'm getting around 45 to the gallon around town a very solid car fun to drive I just love it. Plenty of power in the engine 1560 cc
+truck guy fiftynine
Sometimes they are, but yeah, I tentatively in the market for a used Odyssey now.
Thanks for your thoughts!

16:00 Woah, there's a NEW Mexico now? Is it any better than the old one?
Thanks for the review. I really like this because you can get it in a bright red ext color. However it seems like a cargo van with some seats tossed in. I also can't see buying a 4 cylinder wagon (minivan). Think its going to take a beating in the mountains esp with AC turned on. Probably good for certain short journey travelers. Even with the LWB you are not going to fit a lot of camping equipment inside. Thanks for helping me make up my mind about 2016 Ford Transit Connect TitaniumBlessings,John 20:29

Great work, best walk-through/review out there on the Transit Connect.
This video opened my eyes. There really are some non-dumpy neighborhoods in Gallup, New Mexico.
Was this video shot in Gallup, New Mexico? Or what do you mean?.
I ended up with a ford flex. it was too late to build a 2016 (0 percent interest) and no.dealer in Ontario had one in Stock!
Spend the cash on a set of 4 winter tires and you will be fine in winter.
do you think u could fit a queen size inflatable mattress in the back?
Yes
Thanks for your review, I'm going to the dealer in the morning to test drive a LWB maybe trading in my Kia Soul and build my van into a camper van.
I’m going to buy second hands same this model , I have no ideas if ford has any problem regarding to patrol consuming and engine
Hey was wondering if you get the spaced out seats only 4 in the back can you still put them down and lay down comfortably?
Quick question: Do you know if the seatbelts of the folding seats can be utilized even when the seats are folded down? I'm intrigued about getting one of these so my dogs can travel in the back with everything laid down but they have their own special seatbelts that attach to their harnesses and plug into regular seatbelt openings.
I want the cargo van version for storing a motorcycle and/or a bed for camping.
+GT6SuzukaTimeTrials good idea, its cheaper and you can get the EcoBoost if you want a little more grunt!

Gallup Journey Test Drives
Always looking for another of your vids!
This is how all minivans should be proportioned
In 2019, there a few moderate improvements
Unmimivan means that it is a small multi purpose vehicle that is environmentally efficient.
Great Review man!
I was just reminded of Doug DeMuro's video on the Mercedes Metris.

Perfect vehicle for the Uber XL platform. I bought one just for Ubering. But theirs definitely better options in the minivan spectrum for personal use :P
Dalton Smith hey how did this vehicle work out with uber?
Works well! just keep in mind with all 7 seats taken up there isn't a whole lot of room for luggage so it may not be the best for certain airport runs. But otherwise you cant beat the gas mileage and head room :)

Could you do a video of the current 2018 2019 model?
2019s are not in the Dealer lots yet, I went to the Local Dealer in NH and they had NO clue that there is a 2019 model 😂
If this 2,5 L powered Transit Connect feels slow you should try the EU version with a 1.6 L turbo diesel

There is headroom, they should had raised the back seat and find a way to make it flat when down though. lol
my thoughts exactly!

Very cool and smooth presentation! thanks
Cool is relative I suppose! ;)

-Greg
Can it carry a 4x6 sheet inside, with the doors closed, and how?
What's the gig in the introduction ?
looks great !!
thanks for the review. Keep up the good work. You give edmound a run for their money. Just subscribed.
