@@ardnorthumbria It's not surreal. MDB had the advantage to be one of the first bands in this (sub) genre, but Stainthorpe has not really a good voice. I mean he try to reach a similar level like Messiah Marcolin or Ronnie James Dio, but he failed, better stick with his grunts! And the quality of the albums is strongly fluctuating. Pallbearer is not bad, but the production on each album ist very spongy and dull. Warning should have kept the direction of "Watching from a distance", 40 Watt Sun is no longer comparable with this genre, not bad but nothing to do with doom or even metal! ARÐ unite an alltime hymn like "As the shadows fall" (Godsend 1993, still sounds a little bumpy at that time) with "chapel-classics" like "Miserere mei, Deus - Allegri - Tenebrae" (conducted by Nigel Short). I myself play several instruments (organ, piano, bass-, acoustic- and electric guitar, flute and violine) just as a hobby since over 50 years.
I could not resist😅Today, the Hardcover Edition has finally found the way to my home and I love the album as much as I did the first one. Majestic, epic and goosebumps all over the place. There is something in it that touches me deeply and I had the same feeling a few months ago when attending a mass in a Russian - orthodox church... These choirs were also war-inspiring... Well, thank you so much, Mr Deeks and regards from the deepest South of Germany
By the way, ... you made probably without knowledge a new edition of the classic "As The Shadows Fall" from Godsend in 1993 with "Casket Of Dust", similar in some parts, ... brilliant!
Desde Stgo. Chile paro todo lo que estoy haciendo y le dedico escucha activa a esto. Doy gracias al absoluto por este elixir y me siento agradecido. Cátedra del buen arte junto con Take Up My Bones. Mark Deeks son un grande!!!
Primera vez escuchando esta banda. Esto es de una calidad compositiva excelente! Que belleza!!!
Want to see and hear them live again!
E P I C !!! Forget My Dying Bride, Pallbearer or Warning (40 Watt Sun), ... listen to THIS ! Even great like the first one "Take Up My Bones".
Wow. Thank you for your kind words. To be in the same sentence as any of those great bands is surreal.

Awe inspiring, not war inspiring... No pun intended of course 😂😂😂
Really good stuff.
What a masterclass in doom! A beautiful and somber album. Will almost certainly be one of my most listened to this year. Bravo

This is a great album, Kudos to Mark Deeks for doing it all by himself!
