DIY Modular Castle Set Tutorial

This video shows a tutorial on how to make a DIY modular cardboard castle set. I came up with an idea to create a modular building block set of some kind and thought that a castle theme would be a great idea.
I wanted to use cardboard because its so easy to use and cheap but I needed to figure out how to make it last longer if being handled constantly. They best way I could find to do this was to print out the brick texture, glue it onto the blocks and then cover it with cellophane tape so the ink does not smudge when handled.
I also spent some time figuring out different block designs that would allow you to build a good looking castle but also fit together. I decided on a unit block size and then made all the different parts in ratios of the unit block. The different blocks I made include a unit block, double and triple length blocks, square and round tower blocks, bridge and gate blocks as well as wall top blocks. I also made a few skewer flags to add an additional touch.
The different blocks fit together and allow for endless castle designs and lots of fun. The blocks are designed so they can be linked together with wooden skewer sticks that make larger towers and structure spans possible. The building blocks all have castle brick textures to make it look more realistic and the outsides are also coated with clear plastic tape to make the pieces last longer in the hands.
