"How did it know it was safe to eat?" I don't know lady, how could a space faring alien species with a potentially centuries long lifespan and a seemingly functional civilization and long standing hunter tradition possibly learn to identify edible plants
I'm gonna assume they're primarily carnivorous but much like a dog or bear, will seek out certain vegetation either for nutrients or preference of taste.
I mean if you look on earth the strongest predators eat more then just meat (because being omnivore just makes it more easy to survive). From what we know about the species is that they sometimes like to drink alcohol (something that can't come from meat). We haven't really seen the Yautja cook or tell a human their favoriete dish, so it is possible they are omnivores but meat being the main part of their diet (unlike humans were we eat more plant baste food then animal baste food).
If I go by the comics I would assume that the predators are omnivorous, with a diet consisting of 85% meat , 10% plants and 5% liquids. With meat being the primary source for nourishment and only eating plants if the yautja needs to, metabolizing meat is possibly easier than plants or alcohol. I don't know why else a predator would be eating a root and drinking a substance like alcohol .
About 25-26 years ago i was seriously into the Predator/Aliens scene and collected several comic series. one the stories I encountered was about an American First Nations police officer who had to hunt down and kill a Predator who had begun killing folks on the local Reservation. I can't recall now what the story was called and the comic itself is in my storage unit and inaccessible right now. I recall two things quite clearly: one was the predator sitting on top of the cabin roof, feasting on two very bloody carcases of sheep it had just killed, and the other being that it had created a den for itself which it had heaped with various entrails and carcases. The human protagonist seemed to thin the predator found the stench coming from its charnel pit therapeutic, so my guess is that predators are mainly carnivores that eat almost any kind of meat they can get hold of, but eat plant matter in much the smae way a cat might eat grass.
Even carnivores won't pass up a chance to eat safe vegetation when necessary. Form fits function, as they say . . . and I do recall a kind of fruit stew mentioned in the book AvP: War (where Machiko comments on this one dietary "staple.")
Xenomorpheus. That is true because dogs will chew on grass to have a healthy diet and to also help their digestive systems. Humans are a similar way because only eating beef constantly isn't good for you. This could be because thousands of years ago, Humans didn't eat full portions daily without burning almost all of it off due to survival.
You may be surprised how many animals you think are carnivores are actually omnivores, like you can feed your dogs a lot of fruits and veggies and bears eat more fruits and nuts the animals (like they are very picky if it comes to eating meat).
How do you say to the little boy because the porter I saw the skin boys I wondered what did the skin get off maybe it'll cause I ate it I think in my mind
depending on how long the yautja have existed and how long they have known about earth, I wouldn't be surprised if one did eat dinosaurs for lunch one day and how the fuck it would get the trophy skull of the tyrannosaurus it killed back home
I think the movie Predators gives some insight. When they go into the camp you see what looks like cooking to me. Humans hunt for trophy, but they also eat what they kill. I'd like to see a female predator one day. At least in the background.
Well it shows humans skinned and their spinal cords taken. I think they're like humans in regards to meat. They just eat their own livestock and earth's.
Here's a question...when the jungle yautja in the original Predator was using a suction tube to obtain blood and Gawd knows whatever else from Arnie's guys, what did he do with it? Are they in some way vampiric like the humans were to them in the Concrete Jungle video game? Maybe our blood is some kind of preferable resource for them.
How about a video on the Predator's pets? Like the horse thing, the dog from Predators, and the enemies of the NES Predator game (the manual states that all the weird creatures in the game, except the scorpions and rolling rocks, are the Predator's Pets)
I always assumed they were carnivores because of the jagged teeth but I thought they would bring food with them on thire ships because long space trips even if in suspension they need some sort of nutrients.
I agree with all of the evidence !! With such a tremendous specimen of a species the predator would be able to consume a vast number of foods & nutrition's just like humans..& he's a master hunter for a reason.
Hmm being hunters I always thought that in order to hunt as they do they would have to be pretty knowledgeable in the act of survival. That being said I always viewed them as being opportunistic eaters. Eat what they can when they can. Especially while on a hunt.
I had imagined given their weight and muscle that their diet HAS to consist of large amounts of meat, but that's all I got... Once again you help fill in the blanks fans need to finally get answers.
I legit thought they ate fruits just cause I liked the idea of them using those pincers to hold and rotate the apple while they ate it so they could eat and hunt and the same time
What we really need to know is who build the Predators weapons, ships etc who make all their tech? Do they have a sub race of non warrior, nerdy Predators that build and make all this stuff or is there a complete race of another alien species that builds their tech and supplies it to them?
I had a long argument once about this, but I felt that they never ate the humans they hunted. We saw the predator in the first movie throw away Billy's body after removing his skull and spine. None of them ever took more than that from their victims. It made me wonder if they were somehow vegetarians.
Given that they drink some kind of Brew and also eat plants I safely asume that they also drink water to stay hydrated and prevent exhaustion. Since there’s water in plants. Also those faces are priceless at 1:33. Is that comic a thriller or comedy?
i assumed they were omnivores like humans. an apex being like that is going to be well balanced and adaptable. omnivores have much more survibility than an herbivore or carnivore.
What did Predators evolve from? Like, humans are Sapient, Gorm are Reptilian, Hutts are Gastropods, but what are Predators? And what are their excessive mandibles for?
i always thought that they pretty much eat anything, like humans but maybe even more meat, i wonder how they cook aliens, do they pour milk over acid to neutralize that spicy side taste?
In Predator part 1 with Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Predator was eating human flesh that he hunted him down or fought to a duel one of Arnies team mates. So Flesh, meat mostly.
This is my theory. If a predator would travel to different planets all the time (including earth obviously) it could be possible that he would have to experiment on what he could eat and what not which also means he could put his life at risk if something would be poisonous or something. Again this is only a theory, But tell me what do you think of it?
Amusing to see that Yautja aren't totally stoic and can enjoy a good meal every once in awhile just like us prey. Now I'm hungry as well. Time to skin a rodent or find the nearest root. Delicious!
judging by the teeth I would assume they are primarily carnivorous but possibly adding an occasional vegetable. As they are not mindless monsters but an intelligent species with a culture I would expect a who culinary side to but food and drink.
Savion Toon. There are Yautja females because Yautja mate just like Humans do. However, females mostly stay at home, rear children and cook, while the men hunt. There have been cases of female hunters, yet that is very rare. Big Momma is the only one that I can think of. My theory of female hunters would be that if their husband died on a hunt and the son is not old enough to inherit his father's wealth, then the female could claim her stake in it and complete a few hunts and arena battles for it.
*Now I'm hungry.. What did you think Predators ate? ✅🤪*

AcidGlow What Xenomorphs Eat?
Gojiramus Primus I know that in Alien: Covenant, there's a scene with an alien feasting on a human nurse's flesh.
Gojiramus Primus humans
I assume they're carnivores. Hence the desire and passion for the hunt.
sheep as well. In a predator comic a predator was seen on top of shack house eating like 3 sheep
1:38
It's nice to know that even bloodthirsty monsters like the Predators, still like to crack open a cold one with the boys.
LOL!
😂😂
ALL species gotta open a cold one with the boys every now and then.
Omnivores, makes sense.
High-Marshal_Jaeger always thought they were just carnivorous
The more you know
Frank Berst. Beef ? They also eat vegetables and drink alcoholic type beverages. This is an interesting video because the creatures are mysterious.
Maybe they just are just carnivores,
Because they might not be eating roots but swallowing them like crocodiles do
Yep
"How did it know it was safe to eat?" I don't know lady, how could a space faring alien species with a potentially centuries long lifespan and a seemingly functional civilization and long standing hunter tradition possibly learn to identify edible plants
@60 Billion Double Dollar Man LOL that too
I'm gonna assume they're primarily carnivorous but much like a dog or bear, will seek out certain vegetation either for nutrients or preference of taste.
Good description. But some bears eat their prey while its still alive, I don't think yautja do that.
@@darthveatay It describes predators doing exactly that in this video did you even watch?

1:10 how can he skin it alive if he just killed it?
*Logic*
Mortal kombat x predators grenade
hahah i think he said that wrong cuz u can skin animals n humans alive.
"Kills a rodent" " skins it alive"
Lol
He brought to life
I believe that predators eat whatever they find anything edible to a planet and to make the native living in that planet
They eat everything. From Xenomorphs, to Chipotle.
Xenomorphs ? you mean my gaucamole spicey dip ...
They dont eat xenomorphs
@@cb__0715 oh, Mr McChiken? Are you the Yautja Dietary specialist, or a rep from McDonald's?
@@cloudsleyfalconbridge xenomorphs have HIGHLY acidic blood. There is no way a Predator could eat one
@@DarthSyonFilms oh Mr Wineburger, they do. Once they pop an antacid pill, (like Nexium or Prilosec) even Xenomorphs are on the menu, my friend.
I like your channel now AcidGlow it's now so different than before
=)
I swear I seen one at the drive threw at McDonald’s the other day 🤔
Best comment 😂
Like your videos a lot.

I always assumed Predators were carnivorous, it would explain why hunting and strength is so important to their culture.
my man out here asking the important questions

Let me know when you find out which comic it was in!
i'm waiting for this video, for a long time! XD
Fantastic video , lots of info ❤️👊🏾💯
I now imagine that somewhere in the grim dark universe there is a predator cooking cupcakes for a cooking show.
They are lactose intolerant, cheese makes them fart something awful, you really don't want to smell it.
Predator love to raise the root.
Nerd!
Predator started in theaters--that's canon! Predator 2 found a Yautja camped on a meat packing plant, eating the same cows we do.
Glad we're asking the important questions.
in the aliens comics , there is a race called reapers. can u do a review on it?
“I didn’t think he was a vegetarian “
They eat meat?
I can absolutely picture a group of Predators being drunk af around a campfire
Judging by there teeth I thought they where strictly carnivorous
Even carnivores won't pass up a chance to eat safe vegetation when necessary. Form fits function, as they say . . . and I do recall a kind of fruit stew mentioned in the book AvP: War (where Machiko comments on this one dietary "staple.")

@ true, it’s just that their specific dental structure seems like it’s meant to hold struggling prey lol.
ok. where can I find the comic of the c'ntlip drink? I've never read it.

How do they communicate
Which predator dark ages
What's to say they don't eat some of what they hunt??
Very good video
This is cool. The functioning parts of society are a great topic. I always felt the strump up bodies looked like curing meat.
Honestly, I think they have a schedule which tells them when to eat cause honestly I think they don't eat for a couple of days to get an agile warrior
I’ve always wondered about the predator’s children can u do a video about their children how are they trained and who takes care of them and more
I don’t know what they eat but I do love the videos explaining about them very interesting

In one of the avp novel it's said they eat a type of jerky and fruit chew for breakfast
Makes sense for a deit that is a mix of meat and tuberous storage organs and grains
Based on the shape of Yautja teeth, the idea of them being omnivores seems kind of ridiculous.
Here's one for a video, if not done already.
Is linguafoeda acheronsis a carbon or silicon base creature? Or a combination of both?
1:08 "Kills a rodent, skins it alive"...
i'm thinking the same thing
was that a Predator Lady there at the end or a human with a Predator Helmet?
Ben Rogers. Yes, he did a video on her. She was the first Human to successfully join a Predator tribe. Look up Human Predator
Deadsea1993 Gaming I think it's serously sexist on my girls get to be human predators, lol it's fucking bs
How about a video on the Predator's pets? Like the horse thing, the dog from Predators, and the enemies of the NES Predator game (the manual states that all the weird creatures in the game, except the scorpions and rolling rocks, are the Predator's Pets)

honestly, the idea of them being omnivorous doesn't surprise me in the slightest. they are crazy awesome predators, so why not?

i always thought that they pretty much eat anything, like humans but maybe even more meat, i wonder how they cook aliens, do they pour milk over acid to neutralize that spicy side taste?
you think any predators were hitn that?
I didn't know they could eat roots.
Dr. Michio Kaku once mentioned if there is intelligent life out there. They would most likely be descended from carnivores.
In Predator part 1 with Arnold Schwarzenegger, the Predator was eating human flesh that he hunted him down or fought to a duel one of Arnies team mates. So Flesh, meat mostly.
Eait he kills it than skins it alive?
When they skin and hang their prey, seems to me that they are drying them out for food. Its different than taking a trophey
This is my theory.
