I'm glad the interviewer touched on the idea of Pi being on a spiritual journey, but I see the first part in India not as preparation, but as the beginning of a much longer process. The real journey begins when Pi opens the ship door and enters the storm with naive anticipation, and it doesn't end until he washes up on the Mexican shore and watches the "tiger" disappear from his life. I see this story as having three levels: the obvious adventure; the symbolic representations of the animals, book, storms, etc.; and what Joseph Campbell called the Hero's Journey. I show this film to my students, and we thoroughly explore it from the first shot of the tiger as only a reflection in the credit sequence to "You look thirsty" to "Why would a lotus hide in the forest?" to "He could be trained but not tamed." The subsequent conversations are wonderful.
I have viewed Life of Pi... I consider it one the classics... For me to appreciate everything on the movie, I viewed it first on its superficial value - just the movie as it is... then, on my re-watch times, I thought of the meanings behind each scenes... That's how I was able to love and appreciate the movie... Life of Pi is worth watching - not just once, but multiple times...
I just watched the movie yesterday for the first time, seriously. I just loved it. It's very much heart touching. I actually never knew about it. IT'S AWESOME AND EMOTIONAL AND A WONDERFUL FICTION STORY... 😀😀
this film turned out to be awesome. When i saw the dvd cover it looked like a kids film without much depth but turned out to be an incredible film with great depth!
well, the author gave the Jappanese ambesy credit for helping with the documents and recordings of SOMETHING. It's very vague but the names are real so, I guess we have a story within a story within a thousand other stories. That's part of the magic.
No, the music is not in the movie, and I watched the film for the last time, and I never heard music because the music is outside the film crazy boy teja
Can’t Imagine Irfan Khan is no more with us. Rest In peace ❤️

I’m glad this movie succeeded they put so much work into it this is like the shadow of the colossus of movies lol
Ang Lee is sinfully underrated director in hollywood. he should've directed The Lion King 2019. Love Jon Favreau but Lee deserves more chance.
Yeah but he's about humans. Not animals.
He is the most successful asian director in Hollywood, i think he is not underrated.
Wolf of Wall Street, Warrior and Life of Pi are my favourite movies
Love that movie
Ifran Khan 👏 Sharma 👏 Ang Lee👏👍😍🙏

The movie was so so so realistic. In fact was it a true life story?
