Your Z flex coupler is being stretched and it’s effecting your print quality badly...look up inverted z axis and self centering Z coupler on thingiverse. That will get your print quality way up
Your Z Coupler is awfully bent and accentric nuts are a MUST without the ability to adjust the play of the axis (which you will need to do #wear #tolerance) you and up with a wobbly printer.
Your purple parts have extreme underextrusion btw
Do the circuit boards come pre-assembled or did you have to solder them?
This was my first printer. I follower ruiraptors video assembling it and it printed pretty good right away, better then some of your examples here even. One I put a fan and duct on (fang fan) it got even better. Bed cable management is another must do or the wires will pull off the bed (fire hazard!)
I bought the green Pro version and it needed no mods, its a much better machine out of the box.
Definitely a great review !!!!! SUBSCRIBED !
they can machine them to the exact dimensions so eccentric nuts are not needed, but then what do you do after a few months when it starts to get wobbly again?
Why would it get wobbly? My other kits have been going for over a year with no wobble.
did you go trough thousand+ hours on it? i'm not sure but its my guess that since it's a material that has even a small amount of compression, under load it tends to shrink over time .
@@ModBotArmy, holes in acrylic plate are too big for the normal, non-excentric screws. If they are in the wrong side of the hole, you are not able compensate them with excentric nuts on the other side. I just upgraded to metal cnc parts with correct hole sizes and it fits perfectly, no need for any trick for tightening.
Also with only one z screw it is more stable with the alu upgrade, because every wheel touches the profiles now, so there is no more wobble.
@@witgangyounotube287 if i got thousands of hours i could spend $20 on a new part to be tight again.
Great video Daniel! I’m excited to see where this channel is going. (:
+Technology Nerd18 thanks a lot bro :) excited to be able to keep doing what I enjoy and making videos on 3d printers and other tech. It is people like you though that really make me enjoy what I do. Thanks for always being awesome :)

payed 175 with standard bed but got extended bed free!!!
I got a Flsun for cheaper than the tarantula. Comes with dual z motors, all aluminium and supposedly a better MB. I’ll check if it’s any good once it arrives
What model is it? I have been looking at a few here and there
It’s an i3 clone. But I have to say, their hardware is incomplete, and the acrilic parts are useless
Better yet, the FLSun i3 linear rod and bearing version. Rollers on extrusion is for suckers: ua-cam.com/video/5P3logeuc7k/v-deo.html
Creality is beginning to dominate in the affordable 3d print sector with decent prints.. Tevo have their hands full
whats the difference between the 2017 and 2018 models. also you mentioned the 2017 model had somthing the 2018 did not a lead screw for the z axes . so should i go with the 2017 instead?
i got purple and green i bought with the standard bed but i got a free large bed yay
and it was 175 wow
I bought this printer and just finished assembled it yesterday and this helped me out with some kinks I had, great video!
$30 3d printer on ebay now
Ender 3 in this price point
Definitely my recommended over the tarantula
Your wiring is crazy, this is not how you should do this. Take more care to do it properly, it hurts my eyes.
lol! "The printer also has a great community on facebook". I'm literally dying. This printer is garbage... end of discussion.
So I had bought this printer about a year ago. I had built it slowly and made sure everything was correct. I got 1/2 of a print done. I had forgotten support material so I stopped it. I had then fixed that and printed again. The layers would then offset every single time it would move up at all. I then got a new motherboard from gear best (took 3 months). I then tried again and it didnt change anything. My the time I had gotten to hear best again, it had been 6 months. They sent me a new controll panel. Still have yet to get it. I got this printer last christmas. Did you have any problems like this?
Hey ModBot, I got my Tarantula as my first 3d printer and there is one point I personally feel that you skipped in you video is that this printer is not exactly anywhere near beginner friendly in terms of the assembly manual/instructions. But I found the machine assembled nicely and easily despite me having no previous experience with 3d printers, but it's been a bit of a pain to get it to run correctly as my Tarantula has been overextruding and has clogged up two nozzles now. But I do whole heartedly agree with the wiring being a total rat's nest, and it sucks as the manual says nothing about properly running wires. But I do like your review of the printerthough!
Hey do the bed upgrade on thingiverse it helpt my quality alot
I think that if the printer had hands and fingers to move with the hand what is printing it would be more moveable and faster
It's weird because I built this printer a few days ago and installing the Titan extruder and flashing new firmware (to fix backwards stepper motor) worked flawlessly for me.. Why does nobody use it?
Eliaz McNaught you can swap the motor cables so it will go backwards
I have two questions
Firstly can we print Nylon , Polycarbonate on Tevo Tarantula
Secondly can we mount the front mount anywhere else than the front like outside custom built enclosure ?
No you will need to upgrade the hotend to an all metal if you plan to print in nylon or pc. As far as the front mount yes you can definitely make an enclosure and move it so its out of site. There are quite a few printable enclosures available on thingiverse.
I know you said its a nonissue with levelling, but it seems swapping the extruder out for a bowden setup would take a lot of weight off that arm and reduce the sag.
KamenDesantis it is a bowden
you need a new z coupler
Good review. I like the format.
Thank You! I definitely spent some more time on this one. I wish I could have been on camera for some but once I get a little mic I will be able to there are just to many noises in the house to use my camera mic :)
:)
Heyyy [FULLNAME]!!! In love with your content💕💕
lol

In my opinion Tevo Tarantula is a worst printer
hrc1402 bad*
Its a great printer. Not for idiots, it is a DIY (do it yourself) printer. I had no problems building. I build it in a few hours and printed right after. It's like a model. if you can't do it then you are not knowledgeable enough to do it. many upgrades are available. great cheap printer if you are not an idiot.
They're eccentric SPACERS, not 'nuts'.
Its just a different name. It's what the instruction manual calls them and you will find them online if you look up eccentric nut.
