What Happened to FaZe Clan?

- FaZe Clan once had it all.
They were gaming pioneers, and one of the most beloved esports orgs in the world.
But over the last few years, everything changed. The org is crumbling, their reputation is shot, and everyone is asking the same question: what happened to FaZe Clan?

Watching Kay call management soulless while he scammed kids out of millions of dollars is pretty rich.
entitled spoiled brat who is always quick to blame the others lmfao
Haha my thoughts exactly.
Hypocrites hates bigger hypocrites
That’s how you know it’s true
Kay is easily one of the bottom 5% of members. Absolute bottom of the barrel filth
Anyone with a proper brain would have seen this coming with Faze. You can't have people like Banks, Rain, and Jarvis being your more notable members, There were very few good eggs that were associated with Faze, and the (bad) ones that had power sold out.
rain kinda built the foundation so stop yapping
Banks & Rain are legends tf are you talking about? & Jarvis was just a kid.
Banks literally a drug addict and the money just drowned him worse
@@WhoKnows11111dont use “legend”so light none of these people no youtuber is a legend
@@UncleMsg I don’t use it lightly. In this particular scene they’re legends.
The thing is, people loved FaZe because of their brotherhood and the people who built FaZe. Once they moved to LA, they almost all stopped creating content consistently. They tried to shift more to collabing with random people for clout. They tried to be more in the background as "owners", not realizing people loved the org because of people who built it, not the big names they were signing to contracts.
Once the fans had no content to consume from the OG members like Adapt, Rain, Apex, Tommy, etc, those fans stepped away because they weren't interested in people like Snoop Dogg and whoever Banks had in the "Clout House" They just lost touch with the fans honestly and thought the machine was going to run itself. The members got taken advantage of, but they also contributed to their downfall by disappearing in a sense.
The second Banks showed up, they became No Jumper and lived off of Keemstar for the remainder of their careers.
@@GetBenched2010Banks is one of the founding owners?
What about Faze Rug?
I didn't even realize anything happened to FaZe, I seriously live under a rock.
lol u dont need to be under a rock to miss this bs. dw, ur probably focused on the right shit.
@@Megatraum504yeah it's completely unimportant tbh
Under a rock, on top of grass, which you've touched.
You don’t live under a rock, I’d say you live above the rock if you haven’t been following any of this stuff lol
It's better to live under a rock than to waste your time on corporate drama tbh. 🪨
Only reason I care about Faze is their Csgo Team
faze's csgo team is the only faze team worth caring about so i dont blame you.
differences between the org and their csgo team is like fucking day and night like wtf lul
i lowkey wished for some rich dude to just outright buy the team and give them the same amount of support as teams like Vitality. Compared to Vitality, Faze CS:GO only works with a skeleton crew like wtf.
The main thing stopping me from rooting for Faze clan is their cover org.
The only reason I don't like their csgo team is because of the org attached to them.
Shoutout to Faze Jev who almost daily posts gaming videos and regularly posts COD even if the game quality dips since he genuinely loves the series
My personal favorite member for keeping it honest and personal no matter what
My favorite member is adapt he made great vlogs back in 2017 I wish he would come back to UA-cam
I remember back in the BO2 days how infamous FaZe clan was. Everyone had FaZe emblems with their own logos and color schemes to it. It was truly an era that will be missed.
Couldn’t of said it any better my self
I remember everyone who was using snipers, they were either using faze or soar clan tag or names
I miss the days of recruitment challenges and trickshotting. It's the price FaZe paid for going corporate. Yeah they got the money but the legacy is tarnished forever
they didnt even get enough money
@@sisig2419 cuz they're busy saving the kids with SaveTheKids Crypto
@@sisig2419the suits took advantage of them
Optic got corporate money now but optic ain’t get slimy. A lot of people on faze have done bad shit from stupid tokens to stupid celebrities who ain’t apart of the gaming community shit banks was beating his girlfriend Luna. Besides ATL Faze it’s dead
12:55 I think this is the point. Esports Orgs SHOULD be looking to make a profit, they SHOULD do their best to keep growing. But they cannot do it by selling their soul, it never works. It’s fair to acknowledge that trick shots are not what faze is about now, but if you can only see your org as a business and nothing else, you lost what connected the fans to the org.
The way Kay explaining how disgusting the corporation side of it sounds like him describing himself.
exactly
that's not the actual truth it wasn't fully kay's fault he had put a close friend of his who he trusted in charge of that charity and it was that guy who scammed everyone but kay took full responsibility of it it's kinda technically kay's fault but you can't blame him he's not a bad person really
@@abdo_rezak3513are you Kay? Because you reply this to any post criticising Kay.
@thetrustysidekick3013 no I'm just trying to clarify to people cause a lot of people here seem to not be well aware of what's happening in FaZe and didn't follow the story of that scam if you were to ask any member of FaZe especially the founders if the decision to drop Kay was up to them they would've never even thought of it but it's the corporate side of FaZe who took the decision to preserve the public image rather than being understanding towards their members and giving a public statement to explain everything Frazier kinda accepted to take the bullet instead of blaming others and FaZe used that to put everything as his fault and then drop him for the public image you can watch other FaZe members' videos on the situation like Nordan's (FaZe Rain on of the founders) he's the one who calls shit most often when bs is happening
when i was a kid playing mw2, every time i saw someone with FaZe as their clan tag the only thing i could think was "oh god this person is going to be cringe and rage quit once they get their first death"
From trickshots in Call of duty to Tricking young people into scams...
Faze came a long way... Now their content is girls , Clickbait vids , Crypto scams and what not....
Every esports company make money of crypto
I even make money of crypto
we all know FaZe Jev is the only member we can respect that didn't change his content whatsoever
my favorite part is when they're doing SaveTheKids Crypto truly one of best faze moment i ever seen
Many of the Faze members criticizing Faze benefited heavily from how it was run. They rode that train into the ground and only stopped to complain when their stock value plummeted to its actual worth.
Kay needs to stfu blaming the corp, hes part of the problem why Faze went broke.
I remember first learning about faze and optic on 360 playing bo2. It was magical. I turn 22 this year and it’s pretty shitty seeing what happened once big money got involved
Fr man Ik everybody says this but man I wish I could relive the old FaZe again
I miss when a 360 noscope (or 360 of any kind) actually meant you yank your screen around a full 360 degrees in a circle and time it so that you shoot at the very end of the spin. Now people will just do a quick spin, line up their shot, and then still call it a 360. Like you might as well not even spin at that point…I see no one else even complaining about this either
Ppl probably just don't care enough to complain about unimpressive 360 these days
Hitting the shot during the spin is the real 360 shot in my dictionary, everything else is not real imo
There has always been bad trick shot vids. Nothing has changed lmao other than every 10 year old kid can make and upload videos now.
I miss the zzirgrizz trickshots
Console plebs 😂
Personally ive never understood the appeal of trick shot videos. most of them, to me at least, look identical
I used to love all of Faze but it’s slowly grown to just the esports players themselves I can respect and watch
bruh, kay have no right to say the stuff he said at the end
I always thought faze clan was more of a frat club than an organisation, however you cant deny they were definitely one of the OGs, along with optic, which created esports organisations
I just want to point out that the picture for the "faze misogyny" topic is misleading, the team represented in the picture is not Faze Atalanta (COD team), responsible for the comment, but the PUBG team.
I remember being 13 jumping into Call of Duty 4 and getting my first Xbox for Christmas. First couple months of getting my ass kicked online but I was mentally locked in and I loved gaming, got to a point where I made my own clan once I started hearing about faze clan and the early stages of UA-cam. It was so much better back then.
Seems like they got “Fazed” out
Once i saw a video called “Faze Bachlorette” i had too search this up
Imagine thinking Faze brought gaming into the mainstream... Please fire the writer who made that mistake.
The “OG’s” hating the corporate structure sure weren’t complaining when they made money hand over fist off of their “trickshot clan.”
Now that the venture capital is drying up, we see the complaints. But go ahead, take your org back. Enjoy supporting a CDL team with AdSense.
Faze has been about literally anything else except for COD for so many years...
i dont think its fully dead since there are youtubers with faze in their name doing great but other new faze members are barely recognized, it went from trying to get into the group into not to overly bothered if you dont get into faze
Literally the only light in this dark tunnel is their CS team lmao
I'll forever hate Faze clan for popularizing quickscoping and trick shots. Good riddance.
Faze Rain defended Kay in the whole Save The Kids fiasco lmao. Even if Sam Pepper was the "mastermind" behind it all, it didn't change the fact that he benefited from it.
Actually no one is asking anything about them.
They were always scam org with VC money.
Poor Faze. The directors forgot you need a good atmosphere and team for many years in order to stay relevant for fans and prize money.
Never understood how investors can be so stupid as to put money into a venture that relies so much on uncontrollable factors.
I feel bad for the faze cs team. All seem like great guys. They have a great legacy and are playing decently. Their org and legacy is remembered for all these cringe faze cod players/streamers that took the spotlight.
Same for Faze Valorant. Funny enough in CS, Optic traditionally beat Faze but in Val it's reversed.
@@yeungscs damn wtf I didn't even know they had a valorant team. They really should have pushed their teams to the spotlight and not the cod boys
when banks/rice stopped posting, rain turn into a crack head, rug turned into a click bater, apex being a "full time uncle", fortnite came out, jarvis and kay joined, infinity war came out, snoop dog and women joined, and going public killed it.
Problem with the OGs is they stopped being original, like a really long time ago. Most of their channels are graveyards and they refuse to believe they ever lost relevance. Taking the ship down with them screams immaturity too.
I wonder what was so hard to translate about the fact that the entire label was about the promise of high cheap pogs per minutes vs something like competitive esports where the pogs have a barrier to entry and no gaurantees. They want to be MTV but people dont even watch MTV anymore.
I just hope my boys from csgo team stay safe. Also management around them is great, mb because it's one of the only things that gives them money
i hate to say this bro but supposedly the people who are pulling the strings now don’t really care for the csgo team
@@apheligoat Agree, they get paid relatively higher, but with the cost of having almost no support afaik (almost as in just Eddie as manager).
Of course Robban and Innershine but they part ways so yeah...
@@apheligoat I mean, they pay a lot, can get you any players you want depending on team choice, give a lot of time to the team to become successful and doesn't change roster every 3 months. What more could you ask for?
@@Sol_anum man robban is quitting
@@andoniverse i know, Robban was always considered as a member of the team. What i meant by support was more analyst (like innershine), or maybe a sport physiotherapist to prevent injuries and other auxillary personel.
Ego and greed killed them. The majority of them have terrible morals.
The only faze thing I follow is their CS. Never really cared about them growing up, preferred Optic. Even when they first came to CS with their power stacked team I was rooting against them, but now they're one of my favorites
When I was 14 and playing mw2 I used to be genuinely more scared to put faze as my clan tag than anything else, it used to mean a lot and I was really good, but not FaZe good.
Shout out to Jev, only member I watch.
The only one still in faze that I still kinda watch is Jev, and he doesnt even carry the brand as much as the others, but he's genuine.
knowing faze clan and not liquid is like admitting you only watch the cod league and nothing else lol
just wanna urge everyone to watch the video "Professional Call of Duty "Athletes" show off in GameStop" , absolute gold
when the article "FaZe Clan Members Face Backlash For Blatant Misogyny" was shown, I felt sad for the PUBG team whose their picture were used in it instead of the COD team
Ladder shots to 30 seconds to Mars is a memory I forgot I had thank you
Being someone who isn’t a gamer the only time I ever knew faze clan well was during the Fortnite Era they were on top of the world and then they just sold out stopped caring about the quality of their gamers and were just signing celebrities doing more research on what they were before Fortnite just made it even more sad the way they fell off
Even though it was like 2 seconds, glad to see some FaZe RL recognition
0:53 - If you ask what Liquidpedia is, you'll get at least 5 times more people that know it than those that know FaZe Clan. Like, 25% instead of 5%.
Pushing to the limit and beyond…shows stupid blindfolded catching lemons challenge. Wow “to the limit” has a whole new meaning.
The last time I watched FaZe Clan was when I was really fucking young, Mw2 times. Members I remember watching are HugZ, Fakie, Temperrr, PryZee, no idea if those guys are around anymore.
They are temperrr is a owner, Fakie streams, Preyzee was active making vids like 2/3 years ago and HugZ is active on Instagram I believe
@@FaZe-StyL Why would you make a fake FaZe account to impersonate on UA-cam. Yikes.
@@FaZe-StyL So you’re a bot?
I miss the old faze with trickshoting NYC house
first time I heard of FaZe was when they were talking about that gamba site that helped pay for their CS team, their cs team is cool, the org has always been about money
Can’t believe there’s no “who’s here after the og’s took the company back and signed that waste of life lacy” comment already 😂
they turned into gold chains and rare shoes and flash houses, the only ones still mentally with it are the ones still gaming. Jev is who literally everyone mentions as the pillar of Faze
OMG, when i saw Pamaj, he just bring me back to the (g)old days.
Ayo y'all got Charles on the mic? Nice
Man the old days were just too good sad to see FaZe Clan as it is today……
I feel like you're going to need to update this video sooner than expected
And now hearing they could be absorbed by LG is insane. Truly an end of a era
FaZe csgo is what i think is holding the org together
Nowadays, Faze is but the clan tag before Jevs name, and that's it.
3:45 - 4:09 just feels like some dystopian content skit
Lol, faze was a joke since the start
All I can say is I never cared too much for Faze clan and pro players in general and never will. I mainly watched NeebsGaming, Shroud (only on UA-cam), and Stonemountain64.
Still waiting on episode 1 of Overnight Abandoned.
Didn’t know Mr. Beast was doing this kind of content
It really sucks bc they made the right move to rebrand themsevles since the group from the beginning will not be sustainable in the long run. However, i believe they under estimated the impact old faze had. Too late to change now.
FaZe vs OptiC were the days
"further and further away from where they started" my guy have you ever been in a MW2 or BO1 or 2 lobby? there where slurs, shit talk, and scummy people in every single lobby. So no they didnt move away from that. they just had more media attention and got caught doing shit they grew up doing. Faze clan is like social media everyone seems to love them but when you bring up the issues its perfectly clear that they are not something that should garner your money let alone you time or attention. Faze clan is the Activition Blizard of the esports world.
It's funny how these guys say now if it were up to me I would do this. Well they were in charge and got greedy thinking they were gonna make bank. The OG help caused their problems. They act like they didn't do anything wrong, where they didn't want to help.
They kept trying to be trendy and hip, but no one on the management side actually grew the fuck up until it was way too late.
"FUCK FAZE CLAN" is gonna be cheered and shouted soon
10:39 that's rich coming from this dude when the only reason he's in faze is because of swagg lol
back in the day faze clan was all about trick shotting and throwing knive kills. no clue how they got so over sized
i hope this doesnt affect their csgo roster
The Most Disgusting Thing they did is not signing BAMS as early as possible
Every time these old faze members keep saying we didnt sols faze while flexing their wealth and having wild parties is enough to tell us they can't be trusted and going to live the regret selling faze
Dude I was wondering where my favorite person from Most Amazing Top 10 and I click on a random Faze Clan video and see Danny Burkes face... this was wild lol now I need to know where I can find Rebecca then
What happened to Faze?
- OG fans grew up, had to search jobs and actually figure out their life, so they don't have time to waste following the "Faze Up" movement.
- Younger audience just transitioned to a new wave of streamers/content creators that portrait similar lifestyle and/or passion towards videogames as Faze use to (The Adin Ross, Kai Cenats, XQC and all that).
- Nowdays "gamers" want a PC, not a console. So CoD (The game Faze is known for and still the powerhouse alongside Optic) isn't the main game for those people (Valorant and Fornite hit stronger for that demographic).
The thing with Faze and Esports in general is that people have a very hard time admitting when something they like/liked in the past is stupid and juvenile and can’t move on from it. Faze was cool when you’re 10 years old. Their “content” never evolved past that of a 10 year old. Everything was immature juvenile behavior that really doesn’t grow on you as a fan.
they also had no talent in terms of being a serious esports team. They ALWAYS got their asses kicked in major events. But being an overprivileged fratboy is a good way to get clout which is all they had going for them.
zeimzy, pamaj, and testy are the goats in my book
As (probably many) others have said, the only thing of Faze Clan that matters now is the CSGO branch. Other than that... *sigh*
lmao i love how these guys act like they've changed the landscape.
bruh faze will go out with a wimper, we promise you.
clans existed back in the 90s, and the games vectors are constantly changing as time goes on.
just a bunch of temporary hype beasts and influencers trying to cash in quick before the rest of the world figures it out.
peace.
The Only way I Know Faze is The Call of Duty Atlanta team, One of the best Cod players in History
Been praying for the Faze downfall for a few years now 🙏🏽
it’s even worse now
LOL that did NiP before them... like 30 years prior.... Ever heard of HEATON!! A immortal legend Of counter strike..
A song for Faze, Moving to LA was the beginning of the end. System Of A Down - Lost In Hollywood
"Hundreds of content creators we don't hear about anymore"
*Adds a clip of RWJ*
Somebody clearly doesn't watch UA-cam Shorts or TikTok
Can someone kindly tell me what is the game shown on 0:25 :D
Blacks ops 1
There is a saying in my native language, "quien Mal anda mal acaba" they went through a scummy path creating csgowild, of course they are getting what they deserve
30 cents a share? I'm buying, it's a gamble i don't care.
Honestly the cool bunch was the CSGO Team but it was the COD streamers that started to break faze with their scams and antics.
I’m old enough to realize most of these new esports orgs are a joke.
Should have included a portion on who started it and how. As someone who doesn’t know them but knows team liquid
how do you not know faze 💀💀💀
Well if you build up a brand from online gambling website with no age restriction and continuously follow it up with other ways to rob kids such as a crypto scam , what would you expect?
I legit only know FaZe's CSGO team
Literally nothing else about them until this video
the fans grew up and immature style faded into obscurity not much to see here.
People must focus on buying from asia cause theyre cheap and more good too
