The Lincoln is beautiful. They need to leave the engine alone, and restore the Lincoln. The Lincoln is clean with low miles,
    it's a creme puff.

I respect all cars, that’s why we try to save a few, but keep in mind these cars are out there for sale, I see them all the time. This one seen a lot of salt, so it’s has roof holes and everything else that is not seen in the vid. Even the old man I grabbed it from passed on restoring it, that’s why it sat in the back of his shops for 30 years

@@PoorBoysGarageUSMC Thats in better shape that my 73. Mine sat in the mud for 30 years, and was a NY car all its life. They are going up in value and are harder to find in such nice shape. I dont even see the rot at the back of the fenders where the drain holes for the cowl are. Hidden holes can be fixed up..(You should see the Ranchero Im redoing...talk about bad, but the skin is good and thats what shows and is the hardest to get fixed...floors can be done with a stick and scrap metal if need be (although Id put new stuff)

I had a couple 1974 Thunderbirds with the 460 motor. Great find Poor Boys! I remember just putting a Holley 650 tied to the C6 3 speed transmission to wake the old girl up. Can't wait to see this project started. Good luck and God bless for easy transplant!

This is my favorite thing to do with cars, Finding them, dragging them home and getting them running and safe to drive again! This is the perfect time for you and your son to start an Ebay store! There's a tremendous amount of good parts on that car! The interior in it looks awesome! When I first saw the car I couldn't believe you were pulling the engine, But I couldn't see the rust for the dirt on it. Once you opened the hood and had the camera up close and personal I could see it's quite a mess! There are guys restoring these and just about every little piece to that car will sell on line!

I learned to drive on a Marquis that was virtually identical, except with the 400 - 2 bbl, which was a pitiful engine.
I once drag raced a buddy whose Dad's car was similar but with a 4 bbl.
I don't remember who won, but it wasn't a real exciting race - I don't know if we even exceeded the speed limit.

The good old Lincoln's with ZERO rust are very sought after these day's, the bigger the land yacht the more their sought after!! But being a Mercedes-Benz guy i just flip the American stuff. Older Benz's are the best engineered automobiles i've ever work on and drive every day.

I’ll have to check those guys out. The car was going to be restored by the old man we got it from. After they started to look at it they seem that the car really wasn’t worth all the money it would take, so that’s why it was pushed off to the side. I find these cars forsale every so often around my area, and they go for about 1500-2500, but not to many with the 460. I usually see them with the 400. It will be worth it for the 52 Merc. I can’t wait!

No replacement for displacement . That is a true land yatch . The differences between the lincoln 460 and ford 460 mostly is in the "dressing", valve covers, air cleaners, etc. On years where Lincoln and Ford offered a 460 for a passenger car, you'd find the insides of both 460's to be very much the same.

Why destroy a restorable car? Couldn't you have pulled an engine out of a wreck?
