@@JJMilare: Yes it does. I have all the cords down, Im having a difficult time with the strum pattern. My friend who gave me the ukulele came over this evening, and i just sat down and started playing and he about fell out!!! He was shocked and impressed at how much I have learned..... In such a very short time. One week to be exact.😁 Thank you JJ.
@@cassandratakemyhandwilson4630 for the strum pattern you can just do all downstrums and throw in an upstrum anywhere in between any of the down strokes at any time :). Try and see how that works. I bet he was impressed! I am for sure impressed for one week of practice! That’s really awesome! Very very good job! 😃🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽🙌🏾
Aww much much mahalo! That means a lot! Please share my channel with whoever you think it might be of value too! I’m so happy to be able to share my knowledge with you and others!
@@JJMilare you have a nice pleasant mannerism that lends well to teaching. Yes, I have shared your channel, and will continue to do so. To tell you the truth, one of my biggest problems is with strumming. I've played guitar for many years, and have always used picks. I fumble badly at trying to strum the ukulele the proper way. Now my wife comes along who has never played a guitar or ukulele before and picks up the strumming technique very well. Makes me look like a duffus. HAHAHAHA!!
Kelala ʻO koʻu inoa wow she is very talented!!! I have trouble with strumming too. I have to start off really slow. And then add on singing to it and then memorizing the words 😆😆😩😩. But it’s worth it once I start to see some results hehe
@@JJMilare 😂! You have trouble strumming? You do a pretty good job of imitation then. HAHAHAHA! You're too humble. You strum and play awesome. My wife is showing signs of progress, slowly but surely. Talent wise? Well, she has the talent to learn, I'll say that. Aloha!
Kelala ʻO koʻu inoa oh maybe let me rephrase 🤣. It takes me a long time to learn a new strum. It doesn’t come to me naturally or as fast as other people but I do try to get better at it :). Wow she has some talent huh?
after learning this song, i just realized that this song was the very beautiful song that the hotel crew played in the lobby for the guests there when I was in Hawaii many years ago! aww.. such very wonderful memories i got to travel to Hawaii...i remember having a city tour taking pics in every beautiful spot around the town, went to the building called aliolani hale (if I'm not mistaken) and taking pics in front of the majestic statue of king Kamehameha, pearl harbor, etc.. :') unfortunately I only stayed in Honolulu, not in Maui and other island..Someday I would love to go there again!
Aw yes this is a very popular song that many people know and play. Oh wow yes Honolulu is a nice place to visit. It is the city. But Maui is also beautiful it is more country like and slower pace. What was your favorite site in Oahu?
@@JJMilare my favorite was luau at paradise cove..the food was the best, OMG! Haha.. Pearl Harbour tour and Iolani Palace because i really like historical place. Oh and i fell from biki bike at waikiki..hahahha how embarrassing but so much fun!

Aloha! I just came across your channel today. One of my favorite songs. I’ll be going back to HI in a few months. Would you have a suggestion on a fingerpicking pattern for this also? Mahalo!
Aloha Dina! Yes I would suggest a four beat picking pattern. Here is an example. There are 2 four beat picking patterns in this video :) ua-cam.com/video/Sj6rkhOO2Fs/v-deo.html
