I loved your video. I am just starting to learn how to play the ukulele; so it was at my level. I am looking forward to watching more of your videos. The picking pattern was perfect for me. Am excited to apply it to the song.
Impressed as always by your skill and instruction - but next time, more bloopers! LOL . You should consider facilitating Ukulele weddings dressed like Elvis (that thing you did with your upper lip - ha!!) .
Yes more bloopers!! Hehe. I’ll try to have more next time if there are any. Sometimes when I mess up I delete the video right away so not much bloopers. Oh man I haven’t got to become a wedding musician yet! Hopefully soon tho! Thanks alway bro for your advice!!
Thank you for your wonderful tutorials. More info than my old brain can digest at one time but you make it so simple that it is easy to break down into smaller pieces. Thank you so much:)
Hello there, I hope you upload some more videos soon! 👍🏽 even though I haven’t seen all of your tutorials but, you really have a great way to teach!👏🏽👏🏽 thank you 🙏🏾

Thank youuu so much for the tutorial! I had a reaaaally hard times trying to pick the strings, glad you teach this. It is waaayyy helpful cause easier to learn
You’re welcome! I am glad you now are able to pick the strings with this song! I hope this tutorial was good for you 🙂. Are you getting used to the picking pattern now?
Much mahalo. No I haven’t considered that before. I am more used to standard tuning. I know baritone tuning is the same as guitar so it would be the same fingering just difference names of the chords :)
Hi--I discovered your tutorials a few days ago when I randomly decided to try to learn to play ukulele--I bought this lovely instrument for my daughter years ago--you are a genius! Each video that I've tried so far has been so clear and fun!
@@JJMilare well, I can play along with Remember Me and Somewhere Over the Rainbow, but I have a long way to go in terms of technique and sound quality. The right hand will definitely take time (strumming, etc). I can also play along with Can't Help Falling in Love., though some of the chord changes are a little rough. Good thing I'm mostly just playing by myself! It takes me forever to memorize songs. Do you teach or perform on Maui? We'll be there for a short visit in early March. It would be cool to see you performing!
@@VideosfromAR wow so awesome! That’s a lot of songs since you just started and that’s a good pace! And yes I would say continue to practice those three and fine tune those strumming and chord switches as you practice. Practice makes permanent. It will get easier each time you play them :). And I used to teach and perform on Maui a lot but moved away from Maui during COVID 😢
Much much MUCH mahalo for this JJ. I've been trying to find the music to that song for a long time. Elvis's best song on his "Blue Hawaii" album. I wish I still had my voice and recording studio. Love to record that. 👍👍👍😊
Ah sorry I don’t have one but I found one that is in the same key of C. tabs.ultimate-guitar.com/tab/elvis-presley/cant-help-falling-in-love-chords-1086983 hope this helps! 🤙🏽
@@pilgrimspen oh which other video did you watch? Yes I live here in Hawaii! Ok I will learn some scales and teach it! Thank you for your suggestion! I know someone who studied those scales.
JJ, I really enjoy your tutorials and I’m learning so much. I’m new to playing the ukelele but I was wondering about your G string being an octave lower than mine. Is that just another way to tune it?
Yes it’s another way to tune it but a low G string is thicker than the high G string. If you would like to try a low G, then you can buy a low G string set and change them out. Or try an ukulele that has a low G and see if you like it first
Aloha! Yes my ukulele is a Pono. Made by Ko’olau guitar company. Yes it’s a tenor! I love my ukulele too and the strings I use are low g d’addario. I like some of the Lanikai lines too! Much mahalo for the kind words also on my singing! I wish to take voice lessons some time
Hi I'm a beginner. Just got my ukulele. When I listen to the strumming part, why does my top string sound so different? I checked my tuning, but it still sounds off. Do I need to tune my ukulele in a different way? This is such a great video! Can't wait to master this.
Hmm let’s see. The top string should be the G. Depending on your strings you may have the high G or low G string set. It may sound different due to the high and low, but should sound the same. Make sure you are tuning the top note to G?
For the Dm: you can barre the 5th fret. For the Em you can try barre the 7th fret. For the B7 you can try barre the 2nd fret then add your middle finger on 3rd fret of 3rd (C) string. Lmk if that helps :)
@@vths684 for the fifth fret, you can press all the strings for the Dm. And then for the 7th fret you can press all the strings for the Em. As for the easier way for E7, I haven’t thought of one yet, but if you know how to do the G7, the only difference is you are moving your pointer finger from the 2nd string up to the fourth string on the first fret. :). Lmk if that helps or if it’s not clear :)
@@xinyucao5477 I have a stringset that has a lower G string on it. You probably have a standard string set with a higher G string. I use the d'addario tenor low G string set.
