Great video there, HO scale of the Cardinal, P42 engine, baggage car, view liner sleeper, Amcafe car & three Amfleet coaches. I have an Amtrak N gauge train set of P42 engine, Heritage baggage car, 2 Superliner sleepers, Superliner diner, Superliner sightseer lounge car & 3 Superliner coaches that I have on display & run during December & up to the Sunday after New Year's Day. Mine is of the Sunset Limited & Texas Eagle trains.
You have a nice collection there. A little suggestion though, try not to shoot the train entering or exiting a curve, unless you have a very large radius. It makes the cars look as if they are snapping into place. I love to run my passenger cars too but the curves always seem to bother me. I usually use something to block the view to the curve like a building or another locomotive on a passing siding. It all on the angle of the camera.
I totally agree. The only thing is that, well, I don't do freight. Amtrak all the way brotha! Next layout will have a minimum of 28" radius curves. Thanks for watching!!
Very nice don't see many US layouts running passenger trains great to see. Really enjoyed this video and have subscribed to see more. Thanks again for sharing Best regards Stuart John
Great video man....I thought I liked Amtrak but you got me beat. You have alot of Amtrak equipment. I need those viewliners. Can't seem to find them anywhere. Also need a few more P42s.
your Superliners would look better going thru 28" curves, PLEAAAAAAAASE I am not criticizing, I used run a lot of Superliners, old guy gave me that advise, made it look better IMHO,,, Good Job
I am very impressed. I haven't assembled an Amtrak consist yet but in due time. Currently NJT and Metro-North rule my rails. Any plans for an AEM7 in your layout?
Great job on your collection I am jealous of your Dash 8 and Viewliner cars but what caught my attention is where did you find or did you custom make the stripping and the 3 sheets to the wind emblem on your baggage car that you ran on the superliner set
The baggage car that I ran on the Superliner set (Southwest Chief) is one of three Phase IVb baggage cars from the 40th Anniversary run that Walthers did for Amtrak. I have two of those (1700 Series) and one double door (1200 Series). Thanks for watching!!
The Gaming Player, I just started my model railroad, and I purchased superliners, and a few other different Amtrak rolling stock. I'm currently running on 22" radius, but I have found that not all my Amtrak rolling stock is able to run on 22". I just ordered some 26" and 28" radius turns. I currently have a 4 x 8 layout so I can't run all my superliners because I'm limited to 22" radius for now.
The Gaming Player ....22 radius curves are way to small..rule of thumb..any car that's at least an 85 foot car should be ran on a 24 radius curve and better to make your trains look more realistic..

If you have Kato Superliners there is a module to make the tailights work
