Great layout there, an Amtrak Superliner-The Southwest Chief or Sunset Limited, the Silver Meteror or Silver Star or Crescent. Also great freight operation. I visit the San Diego model railroad museum when I'm home in the San Diego area. I have an Amtrak N gauge train set that I have set up in late November to early January, my N gauge train is the Texas Eagle, once I add more cars & a dummy P42 my train will become the Coast Starlight or Empire Builder or California Zephyr or Southwest Chief, depending what train name I want to use.
Superb layout, camera angles and of course rolling stock. I love how you guys run at realistic speeds unlike many of the members ar my H.O. club that run trains at 2 scale mph tying up the whole layout. Terrific video!
Wow, what a great layout. Keep up the good work and more, and more vids. The trains are fantastic, the long Amtrack train is really eye catching part of your layout, and the freight trains are cool also.
Thanks man, but, that's not my layout. It's the Palm Beach Model Railroad Club. The layout isn't good, at all. Track is awful. The Southwest Chief is mine tho
Andrew Crane I know it’s a bit of an expensive purchase but these are the cars that he was using on the Silver Star www.trainsetsonly.com/bachmann-amfleet-85-coach-ready-to-run-silver-series-amtrak-phase-iv-coach-class-silve.html?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIuOu7yODs5QIVVRh9Ch2C2wnIEAYYAiABEgKvWPD_BwE
the companies that make these need to find a way to get locomotives like the AEM-7, ACS-64, HHP-8, and Acela to actually run off of the catenaries. Like instead of those trains getting power from the track they get power from the wires like in real life
Where can you find a southwest chief set? I am looking for one for myself. I am riding the actual one in a few weeks and would like one to remember my experience.
Send me another invitation to your Train Day event. I keep checking it but It makes my Google+ crash. Not sure where it goes once I look at it once it disappears.
Starting to really like Amtrak.. thanks for sharing and keep up the great work.. Lance

For Amtrak 161, well it was repainted as the replica of 156 phase one 50th anniversary unit.

Well, it would be more realistic, but the track is more versatile
Bachmann HHP8 ACS64 and Acela all have a switch that allows them to run off catenary.
Great footage man!!!
