Question for you, the fixture voltage for this hood is 240v and Whirlpool just recommended to replace the bulb with a 40w 120v halogen bulb. Will this be a problem? Does the voltage and wattage need to be the same?
Great question. Im pretty sure 240V is not being used by the lights however, you could have a unique application. I would call a certified electrician to make sure before conducting any work. Electricity is not anything to “take a guess on”. Thank you for watching.
Thats too bad. Your best bet is to contact the manufacturer of your range and purchase a replacement part through them. Im guessing different manufacturers might have different sizes. Or measure it and try to find one by dimensions from either amazon or another provider. Im sorry I couldnt give you a direct answer but hopefully youre able to find one.
I just surfed youtube and the internet and there were no videos on how to remover the plastic square cover to the light bulb in a range hood. You push the cover backwards. The clips on the other end are spring loaded and you have to push the cover backwards to release the clip. A video on this process would be helpful and you'd be one of the very few videos avaliable to watch and learn.
My glass lens was already broken so I had to be really careful opening the cover. Any idea where to get replacement lenses? The other one is broken, too, but the light doesn’t need replacing yet.
I just googled “replacement glass lens for stove hood vent” and a bunch of them came up from different retailers. Couldn’t find it on Amazon though. Hope this helps. Thank you!
I cannot slide out the G9 bulbs from Range hood Model UXT5230BD manufactured by Whirlpool. Its similar to the hood in the video. What am I doing wrong?
Great question. If you are SURE they are G9 light bulbs sometimes they might need a little persuasion. Be careful. It doesn’t take much to break the bulb. Make sure you have safety glasses on to protect your eyes and gloves for your hands.
There’s a metal ring around my GE hood. It’s not flush with the rest of it. The lens is kind of sunk into it and being held by the metal ring. How do I remove that metal ring?
Ugh. Its hard to tell without being able to see the parts but my best guess is some of the metal tabs on the ring are bent in a little bit making it loose. Take the ring back off, remove the glass from it (so you dont break it) bend the metal tabs out just slightly, very little then put it back together. Should tighten the ring up. Hope those helps. Thank you for watching!
Im sorry that happened. To find the right parts for the appliance you have, I would search the manufacturer’s name and model number on google and try to find the parts you need. If you order the parts by manufacture and model number theres a better chance of the parts fitting correctly. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching!
THANK YOU…I have arthritis and can’t “twist” like everyone else suggested, so this was awesome

Thank you! BTW... I have always been told not to touch the glass on Halogen bulbs
Yes. The oil from your fingers could significantly reduce the lifespan of the bulb. Thank you!

No problem. Glad I could help. Thank you for watching!
