@Jimmy Valentine bullshit Jimmy. The video doesn't show the back clips at all. This is one of the hardest cabin filters to replace on any car. Horrible design.
Hi Yes all VE and VF commodore use the same filter V6 and V8 , wagons, Utes, and sedans we have just released fitting video for the VF on our UA-cam Channel as its a different filter cover arrangement
Hi The back clips especially if they have never been removed before can be brittle(they remove easier after a few filter installs or replacement of the clips) they may need a trim clip removal tool slid under them to make them release, Alternatively if you don't mind a few cuts on you arm!! , you can lift the front edge up (not remove back clips) just enough to get your arm in and remove the cabin filter and slide in our new filter its flexible and will fit ,but all edges are sharp so band aids are good !
Your brackets at the back seem to not be connected to anything. I have 2 white Plastic Trim Panel Retainer Clip Fasteners at the back connected to the black covering. The clips and the plastic are very fragile. I already broke my Radiator Cowl so don't want to break anything else. cheers anyway mate.
Yeah same here mate, I think I counted atleast 4 of those white plastic lugs along the back of mine, maybe this bloke's got the special edition... I did try to pop my panel out but it didn't look like it would end well so I stopped, however if you're still interested it can be done by just having the front 6 lugs loose, the cover will foul on the base of the bonnet strut but once u massage it past that you will have enough clearance to pull out/drop in the pollen filter. I can confirm I have just done it with one of these thicker after market ones from these guys with no issue. This is a better clip to give you an idea mate ua-cam.com/video/wIaag0dzEDg/v-deo.htmlsi=T-WZLpkEKcYMizX3
Im getting water into the car from that filter area and don’t know how. Would you happen to have any ideas how water will be getting into the car from this area by any chance.
Hi Easiest thing to check is to make sure the drain hole where the cabin air filter goes is clear, also check the air conditioner drain is clear ,from what the commodore guys tell us they are issue, also the rubber at base of windscreen where the plastic cover fits should be in good condition , to stop excess water running into filter box.
@@cabinairfiltersaustralia I checked the drain hole and it’s clear and water is draining to the ground and it only leak’s when there’s heavy rain and the car is parked on flat ground or facing uphill. It doesn’t seem to leak when the car is facing downhill. I hope it’s not the air conditioning drain as I heard it’s hard to get to and have to pull half the interior to get to it so I will take the cover off and inspect and hopefully I will find the leak. Thanks for the info.
@@shaunray6660 yeah I stopped the leak. I just got some silicone sealer and sealed the rubber seal that clips over the top of the cabin filter to the fire wall so water can’t run between the fire wall and the rubber seal. Only thing is that when the cabin filter needs to be replaced, the sealer will need to be cut then re sealed. 3BB33CE7-510E-4ACE-A012-
Hi James , yes same filter for the VE omega and will fit (you probably won't have a filter in there, just a mesh screen)filter fits all VE and VF models regardless of engine size spec levels ,sedans ,wagon and utes .
Hi Thanks for enquiry, yes this filter fits all VE-VF all engine sizes and equipment levels sedan wagon and utes available at this address cabinairfilters.com.au/?p=18165
Hi Thanks for enquiry. Unfortunately no place for a cabin filter pre 2006 , the first commodore to get a cabin filter was the VE in mid 2006 then the same filter up to current model.
yes very similar except we have now made the filter base out of flexible ABS as the filter needs bending to fit through the smaller access hole under the plenum chamber cover on later models, but filter is the same size and location for all VE/VF V6 and V8 Commodore available at this link cabinairfilters.com.au/?p=18072 there is also some pictures of the V8 fitting on our website at the same link
For anyone struggling to remove the entire panel due to the lugs located along the back of it, I can confirm this method works and with the thicker Cabin Air Filters Australia filter, you may just have to massage the plastic panel slightly to get it past the base of the bonnet strut mount. ua-cam.com/video/wIaag0dzEDg/v-deo.htmlsi=T-WZLpkEKcYMizX3
Hello, Can you please help me out. I saw your video and I was curious so I did what you did, opened up the compartment and saw the filter there. there were some leafs and dirt etc. However, the important question I have is in regards to that 'round plastic' on the front of the filter. Mine had popped out of its place and I have been getting leaks into my passenger floor from underneath the glove box. Do you think this may have been the cause? This would only happen when it rains. It was completely out of its place. I placed it back in its spot. I am waiting for God to make it rain now. hahaha Just wanted to get your thoughts on this. Thanks.
Hi Probably not the cause the filter doesn't stop any water even if it was intact, there is a water drain hole on the engine side of the filter housing make sure it is clear , otherwise maybe leaking around windscreen, or the airconditioner condensation drain pipe may be blocked because of dirt getting past the mesh screen and blocking the pipe
Thanks for the quick reply. However I am sure it is not the windscreen. It was leaking before but I had my windscreen replaced recently, It only happens when it rains. I am going to wait and see if I fixed the issue today. It does not leak when I use the air - con. Just before the cabin filter housing you will see that there is a plastic cover on top of a hole. Rain water goes in there and runs out from there. I am assuming this was the issue. Thank you for your reply though. I will let you know the outcome in a few weeks so this might help other people with the same issue. Also at some point I will be ordering one of your filters. Will get in touch when needed. Have a great day. Kind Regards.
This was an excellent video! Ive just bought my replacement which probably hasnt been done for 17 years. Thanks heaps!
Thanks for going to all the trouble . You made it look easy and explained the procedure well.
@danoz danoz where's your video? Hahabah !
@Jimmy Valentine bullshit Jimmy. The video doesn't show the back clips at all. This is one of the hardest cabin filters to replace on any car. Horrible design.
Thank you so much for making this video. I'm just going to go and reinstall my glove box now...
Thanks for vid lost couple clips doing it but it needed doing oh well a trip to the auto shop
A few of mine snapped too did you end up finding them?
Thanks for the video! You were very clear and concise. I'll be ordering one for my daughters car 👍
my friend could you also show us how to remove that top cover WITH them back plastic pins that hold that cover.?
This is a great video thank you. I think there is something wrong with mine it's fallen behind my glove box.
Good job man really helpful.
thanks for the video, i never even knew those filters existed, im guessing the V8's have the same setup for these.
Hi Yes all VE and VF commodore use the same filter V6 and V8 , wagons, Utes, and sedans we have just released fitting video for the VF on our UA-cam Channel as its a different filter cover arrangement
Thank YOU!! That was GREAT!!
thanks mate that was very informative!
Thanks for the vid. I'm looking for a tutorial on how to remove the whole windscreen cowl. Not just the passenger/cabin filter side. Any suggestions ?
I followed your video I removed all the clips and the front lifts up but the back is stuck where it meets the windscreen ??

Hope this isnt a dumb question but would this be identical for my 06 VE Omega?

i wouldn't be able to help myself id have to clean that engine bay!!
So would I. A 20 minute job would become a 5 hour epic detailing mission.
does this help prevent hot air going through the air vents into the cabin when the fan is turned off?
شكرا 👍♥️ thanks for sharing
Is this the same for a VE SS series 1 2008 sedan as well mate?
Hi Thanks for enquiry, yes this filter fits all VE-VF all engine sizes and equipment levels sedan wagon and utes available at this address cabinairfilters.com.au/?p=18165
I would like to know where is the cabin filter in a commodore 2005. (chevrolet Omega in Brazil). Tnks!!!
Hi Thanks for enquiry.
Unfortunately no place for a cabin filter pre 2006 , the first commodore to get a cabin filter was the VE in mid 2006 then the same filter up to current model.
Do you have a video of you doing a filter change on a Suzuki Jimny? Thanks
Just watched that one
just buy a commodore mate
Thanks 👍
Thank you mate
I have 2009 SSV V8 is it the same process as the alloytec V6
yes very similar except we have now made the filter base out of flexible ABS as the filter needs bending to fit through the smaller access hole under the plenum chamber cover on later models, but filter is the same size and location for all VE/VF V6 and V8 Commodore available at this link cabinairfilters.com.au/?p=18072 there is also some pictures of the V8 fitting on our website at the same link
AWESOME!
Are their cabin filters in a vz commodore 2006?
Nope
Does anyone know if these are any better than paper filters?
Darren stewart cheers.
Wish I bought one today so that I'd have it tomorrow. Guess I'll have to wait to get it Monday.
Thanks again
zoky Zura . Did you get it yet
