You almost _forgot about it?!_ I randomly stumbled across a single 7th volume once in a bargain box for "flawed copies" - I found it weird but somehow more original than used of the genre. I lost the book, but it crept into my thoughts again and again for years until I tried to figure out the series' name based on vague memories of the title, succeeded and purchased the first volume to check whether the weirdness would make more sense if read in right order. It didn't - but I wanted more of this world and binged all the books within only a few weeks. I accidentally read a random book of the series once and couldn't forget about it for 15 years.. 😅
From the quality of these videos, you should be involved with any tv or film production of Malazan Excellent stuff Would you consider doing a joint video of Shadowthrone and Cotillion? Cotllion is my favourite character within Malazan
If you haven't done one on Karsa, please do so. Of all the characters in the Malazan series, he is by far the most difficult for me to pin down. I know that at first he was Eriksen's jab at the barbaric stereotype in a lot of fantasy, but as is his way he extended the character to a higher level. But I still feel he is shoehorned into some places. Maybe I'm missing something?
@danielgwynne7266 I have been listening to the spellmonger series and that is just incredible. I Think I listened to the whole thing 5-6 times. But I'll look into to this one.
@@whodat8048 malazan is quite a bit longer than spellmonger, has like 450 PoV characters, goes into a philosophy a lot especially in later books, spans across like 6 continents across all the books and changes continents and caste of characters between books as well. There are like 24 novels and 7 novellas.
If you decide to read this series, which is an amazing series, I recommend you stop listening to these videos as they are huge spoilers. A warning though, the author does NOT hold your hand or explain things to you. You need to really pay attention to what is being said and what is written between the lines as there will be small tidbits of hints presented in earlier books only to be revealed way later down the line. Also, make use of the character/warren index, it will be your best friend.
I cannot believe there is people covering Malazan! I read some of the books years ago and almost forgot about it!
You didn’t finish them? It’s only like 23 books and 7 novellas 😊
You would probably appreciate them more now that you are older too

Well done. I’ve commented on about 5 cuts ever in… a long time. It was good to see a solid book series covered in quality.
Thank you so much for doing these videos. Love it. The art work is incredible.
Great work! Plz do one on Kallor! =)
I like one description of Dragnipur: Weapon feared by all existence.
That's why Toll the Hounds was the most anticipated ending of the series.. the convergence happen in the battle of chaos and dead was great..

We need more videos

I have never heard of this series. But i might dig in. Is it worth it?
Greatest series of all time by far

Honestly, Malazan is in desperate need of lore tuber content. Its so hard to get into the series without some background context
Comments like these is why it’s so hard to get into. The reputation is what holds most back. It ain’t rocket science
Wonderful
So the sword is a aspect of stormbringer
Brilliant.
Maybe... Just maybe with the help of people like you, i could finally understand Malaz. But I've read it just twice, so what would i know...
I read a lot of the Malazan Books. I enjoyed them. I did not understand them.
❤
I dont understand why ppl say malzan books are confusing. They are no different than comic books.
I would have liked it more if you hadn't used AI
