This an amazing recount of the March! Fantastic work!
Great video, amazing work! I would just give extra info about Chaining that explain some motivational of some Gods. Act of Chaining apparently release lot of power from the Crippled God that Gods can feed on.
Great work! It's some time, since I read Malazan books, but if I remember right, beginning of decline of Jaghut can be traced to one war before Imasses. War where Jaghut actually formed army (idea that scared many). War against death itself. They sought to end death. "Jaghuts, you absolute fools, be blessed. "
Does anyone remember what exactly were curces? I believe it was: Immortality Not being able to ascend Always failing, never learning, alway falling lower that before.
I like one description of Dragnipur: Weapon feared by all existence.
Great video. I love it. I wouldn't just include, that ritual has some sort of effect on their minds and memories etc. Their minds seems to be connected to some degree and some memory and aspects personality suppressed. If they are damaged enough (lost of arm, for example) this seal is broken and they are deem to be danger let continue be part of army, so theare cut into small parts and placed in place of their eternal rest. If they were good enough, they will get wiev and can look at sunrises etc. If they failed, they will be stuck in hole.
🌚.
I dont understand why ppl say malzan books are confusing. They are no different than comic books.
Brother…. Read the Kharkanas trilogy.
We need more videos
Because Set wanted the Pharoahs Thrown. Wait wrong crippled god. Because he killed Baulder. That's right. No wait it was to do away with the power of the temple. No, no, no I got it now. FOR THE GLORY OF ROME!
found your channel through malazan. Instant sub Enjoying all the content. Hopefully more cosmere content comes soon
The VA for this video is fucking phenomenal

Kallor has such a great lore and depth to him. I should like the guy. Then I remember the bastard killed Whiskeyjack.
Amazing
5 months, 2 reactions and 52 likes? wtf.
Thank you for this series. Ive read all these books at least twice but its wonderful to see the artwork with narration. One day there will be a series. Maybe even a video game (the books originated as an idea for an RPG game created by Erikson and Esselmont)
The tragedy of the Jaghut is that they built the greatest civilisation in the Malazan world. One of the elder races, they had achieved at one point the pinnacle of society, where logic, reason, and common good were promoted. However, this abundance led to the philosophical outlook of misanthropic pessimisim which pervaded intellectual society and led to the belief that society, as with all things, was doomed to collapse. There was a great council where the wisest of the Jaghut delivered their verdict on the future of their race. In order to avoid a cataclysmic end to their civilisation, they decided to dismantle their cities and great works and live their lives in a solitary fashion, building their own towers and rejecting engagement with other jaghut outside their family. As there was no governing council or central leadership of any kind, each turned to their own pursuits. Some of the darker minded jaghut imposed themselves on the fledgling races of man, ruling them as gods for millenia. Once other jaghut discovered this, the self imposed tyrants were hunted and mercilessly destroyed by the other Jaghut - including their own families. Nevertheless the damage was done and the races of men never forgave the evil - leading to the Telann Imass or T'Lann Imass. Who quite literally purged their souls using the warren of fire in order to gain a fraction of the strength required to overthrow the jaghut, at the cost of their entire civilisation stagnating and being doomed to eternal death. Even their souls were sealed in the fires of telann, giving them no rest or relief upon destruction of their bodies. Fallen imass which are too broken to continue fighting are generally laid to rest upon a hill with a nice view, so they can witness the mountains age and the forests crumble for all eternity.
Ça reste médiocres, le dernier c'est un assail et c'est bras son normal

Love your videos please keep doing Malazan ones. Rereading it for the first time in a few years.
How haven't I seen this channel before? As a Malaz fanatic, I should see this haha
The over view is well written but it's a shame everything else including the voice over and artwork is AI.
Who wrote the dialogue here ? I need to know. It’s sort of incredible.
Is this generated?
If you haven't done one on Karsa, please do so. Of all the characters in the Malazan series, he is by far the most difficult for me to pin down. I know that at first he was Eriksen's jab at the barbaric stereotype in a lot of fantasy, but as is his way he extended the character to a higher level. But I still feel he is shoehorned into some places. Maybe I'm missing something?
I saw them on the shores the deepening pits of their gaze vowed immortal war against the sighing calm of Jaghut seas....
Love the way you have summarized the lore not just as info available in the books but what it means.. The application of it rather than just theory!! Thank you very much
Very nice!
Coltaine is my fevorite character of all time out of every book that i have ever read its crazy how good erikson is that we don't even get his prospective in the book its just observing him through the eyes of someone else yet I never felt overwhelming emotions, goosebumps tears and what have you while reading his story what a character almost a God yet still human was the feel I got from him.
Just a small correction, it’s AFTER Burn’s Sleep, not before.
Thank you so much for all these videos. Please keep making them!!
awesome video
Please tell me why it took 10 novels to tell that stupid story.
The story of Coltain is 1/3 of the second book. There is so much more to the rest of the series.
You prefer more pictures in your reading I bet
Top thrash
This is excellent malazan content! Thanks.
Kilmindaros didn’t create the tiste, she’s the Azathanai progenitor of the forkrul assail. Only Azathanai connected with the andii is draconus. Liosan is Triss. Edur - TBD.
Maybe I’m high, but this sounds like Tywin Lannister
Please, redraft your scripts. You mention how to become an ascendant like four seperate times and the answer is always the same, and you mentioned that being an ascendat gives unimaginable powers like seventeen times. Redundant and dragged out.
I’m pretty sure it’s an ai voice and it’s reading the Malazan wiki for ascendants
@@M1cr0Man1a Someone's still behind the channel and I'm giving that person feedback.
❤
This was AWESOME!
Has to be one of the most underrated fantasy series series of all time Such epic ness I recommend this series to all fantasy lovers It’s scope and scale is ridiculous
Underrated in that it's relatively unknown amongst the masses, yes. However I feel like everyone who has actually read Malazan all the way through can agree that it's one of the greatest fantasy series of all time and belongs up there in the higher echelons with Lord of the Rings and A Song of Ice and Fire. No other series matches it in scale, though personally I think that's one of the things that keeps a lot of potential readers away. I know the first time I tried to read Gardens of the Moon it took me like 4 attempts before I got through it as I would find myself constantly confused due to Erikson's love of throwing the reader right into the middle of the chaos with little explanation, but after I learned to live with not knowing and to trust the books to explain it all later on I became hooked.
I definitely agree it’s one of the hardest fantasy reads to undertake as well since it doesn’t hold your hand at all and there is so much to take in
How does this not have hundreds of likes already??
Twist is the emperor didn't stop from becoming the dark king him being on the throne is what made him the dark king and once he leaves the throne he will be in his final form and all his loyal sons and the sons of chaos will join together to kill their father
