i marvel at how those who accompanied him were able to concentrate being so close to that unique sound, vocal perfection. never see the like of Pavarotti again.
One can hear how clear and focused Pavarotti's voice was. And in comparison Milnes sounds throaty. The difference between the Italian school of singing and the American school is pure Italian vowels.
all of you guys need to take lessons lol. The baritone voice is supposed to have more weight and depth to it. its supposed to sound heavier. That is the correct way to sing like a baritone. No duh pavarotti sounds "clearer", he's a tenor for crying out loud.
Partially agree. Milnes always forced when younger and messed up the voice. He had to resort to producing a patch work (scooping, over covering, each pitch almost seemed like have a different type in production). But he had a naturally large voice and imposing presence. Listen to young Merrill, manuguerra, Bonelli, tagliabue, etc. So many great baritones in history especially Italian.
So beautiful hearing these two legends singing this, one of the loveliest of Puccini's melodies.

Milnes was a Friendly Artist when approached after a Performance in Columbus,Ohio of ELIJAH
Pavarotti. O incrível e maravilhoso tenor. Virtuosismo.

un'emozione unica!!!!
Meraviglioso grazie!!!

Nel primo atto all’inizio Rodolfo e Marcello hanno nel cuore il freddo dell’inverno, ora hanno nel cuore il gelo della solitudine
Milnes aND PAVOROTTI AT THEIR VERY BEST!!!

Pell de gallina 🥰🥰🥰🥰❤❤❤❤

As much as I like Milnes, by this time his vocal injury had taken a lot of the brilliance out of his voice.
It's clearly you don't understand nothing regards the voice. Try to sostenere u t Z e o. Otherwise ok

@@CRECrooner Bravo, Mario!
Milnes has always been one of my favorites. That said, I’ve never cared for him in this role. Pavarotti soars here!
👏👏👏👏👏
Would hate to be the third singer walking on to the stage.
La piu' bella aria di amore struggente.
Milnes doesn't sound like himself. I'm not used to listen to him this late in his career.
Qual o nome dessa musica ?
Ci sarebbe anche il duetto con Milnes e Anderson dal Barbiere di Siviglia lo può postare?
È pubblicato. Saluti dal Portogallo.
which rendition is better? Milnes and Pav or Pav and Hampson?
Of course this is better because Hampson is not a real baritone.
I would’ve loved to hear Sherrill Milnes attempt to sing Nessun Dorma. Despite being a baritone, his range went all the way to B4
I had read him saying that he could sing a good high C, but stopped because it was damaging his vocal cords.
@@caninbar ah gotcha. I think he would’ve done a great job with Nessun Dorma.
He could probably sing Nessun dorma in E or E flat major. The original key is too high for any baritone.
@@BaroneVitellioScarpia1 Timothy Nolen, a bass-baritone sang nessun dorms in its original key
