    Great video! It's difficult to find hard lines for old cars, so this helps me out a lot.

    My old Lexus was from the northeast, and the brake lines rusted through in one place. I needed to know how to make single flares, install compression union joints, and bend brake line in order to fix it myself. Your video is perfect, and saved me megabucks! Thank you very much!

    thanks for making this, I broke a line on my radiator and now because no one makes cooler lines for my car it looks like I'm making my own. I feel better about it after watching this.

    Great video thanks. My trans cooler lines are 5/16 and I need to go to 3/8 barb hose fitting, so I'll use a compression fitting.

    Thank you for sharing your Knowledge! I knew how to do all this ,can even make the vise for the Flaring tool , however I had a brain fart when trying to remember the name for a compression fitting. I called Auto Zone and the kid who answered the phone , well answering the phone seemed to be his only skill. He had no clue what fittings were other than "those things in a package" God Bless ! and Thanks again! KB9VSB in East Troy, WI.

    Which fitting do you feel is the strongest, compression or single/double flair? Also, if you was joining hydraulic break lines, which would you suggest? Great video, Thanks!!

    SINGLE WHEEL CUTTERS ARE FAR LESS LIKELY TO “WALK away” and create and stay where you started cutting than with a triple wheel cutter….could be good to consider if you are doing this….and not just buying the replacement piece haha…just a warning for y’all beginners…buy a single wheel cutter…if you got the space to swing it…or it’s a small cutter…….got little wiggle room…1/3 turns type of space…triple wheel it is…..
    Be sure to mark ur “start” line before bending…tubing can slip while bending and can use to compensate….always go a pinch over the required angle needed as tubing will spring back slightly…
    Always ream the inside before flaring …..
    Make sure you never want to replace it, EVER…and happy cutting it off…sure use JB it..go nuts..lol….till you realize it’s still leaking and ur JB has cured…now your screwed..literally..cause ur threads r bunged up

    Personally i prefer having less compression fittings on brake lines..always double or iso bubble flare..however manufacturers do put compression fittings on cars..i think honda does..if u put compression fittings on brake lines then i would coat them all around with jbweld to make them permanent and leak proof..dont forget to subscribe..thanks!

  • @suprahunk

      I've done it and it lasts forever..only on the outside of compression fittings..cause compression fittings suck..always flare and use tube nuts and adapters instead of compression fittings...don't forget to subscribe

    Hi Klowny, I see you didn't flared the line where you used the compression fitting, is the flaring optional when you do this kind of repairs ? Thank you!

    • @klowny1969
      @klowny1969  6 років тому

      For compression fittings..no flares are needed..but I would stay away from compression fittings

  • @BlutigeTranen
    @BlutigeTranen 9 років тому +1

    Great video but I have heard a lot of negativity about using compression fittings on brake lines because of the high PSI you get in a brake line. I've got a 2003 Impala that has a portion of line that is absolutely ruined and I'd love to avoid having to replace the -whole- thing but I am concerned about about the fitting :/

    • @klowny1969
      @klowny1969  9 років тому

      Compression fittings on brake lines..in some states u can fail inspection of they see them on ur brake lines..and the funny thing is some auto manufacturers like honda use them on their cars straight from the factory

    Reconsider the use of jb weld epoxy. I do not think the manufacturer recomends.
