    Hey, Gunnar: the skinny dude might have given her something that's a dumb gift from the perspective of "what would please her a lot", but it's a really meaningful one for HIM to give up, because it's the proof of one of his proudest accomplishments. So... It's a really vulnerable thing to give up for him. In other words: he might be kind of a dumb tool, but he's a genuine dumb tool that truly values her, which shows that he cares. That's why she liked the gift. He's like... Being romantic in the way Homer Simpson is being romantic with Marge, which weirdly works.

    Honestly, the skinny guy + the chubbier girl have the best chance at a successful relationship in my opinion. He's trying to fit in with other guys by being toxic because he's probably been put down because of his body all his life but he's like the only one that genuiely seems to have empathy for his girlfriend, to be attached to her and to see her like an equal in this room.

      As someone who likes big girls myself, I can say I made a similar mistake years ago and it was innocent much like his was... he was basically being cornered by these clowns when it all came out initially.
      My takeaway from my situation was "if you have no issue *with* it you can never make an issue *of* it"... Never use numbers, and recognize it as something you embrace about her.... not overtly so, as this is just as wrong, but make it good and clear one good time that you love all of her and leave it the hell alone.
      When she gets insecure about it, a simple "Remember?" works for me.
      In my case I love a bit of extra fluff on a chick... it's soft and feels like I'm actually holding on to something... it's the "Barbie Body" that I find disgusting lol 🤷‍♂️
      Maybe a better way to put this is... "there's always someone who will like what you have"
      Edit: That said, he blew it with the blow up doll comment... but I also know how guys can drag that kind of shit out of someone in a group by themselves... and women should never try to play innocent there... d1

      @Zenodiagnosis Рік тому +90

      yeah, it's very clear that he was provoked about his girl at the table, he didn't bring it up himself. and being the scrawniest guy in the room, he tried to make an attempt to fit in by making some comments that wouldn't fly. truth be told, aside from the whole 'blow up doll' thing, he responded to the situation pretty neutral. he said he never asked what her weight is, because he clearly accepts her for who she is, otherwise they wouldn't be together. but because there's cameras and money involved, the other guys were like "you need to hold yourself accountable bro" making him think it's significantly worse than it actually is, and he couldn't get the words out properly in therapy. she said herself it was the first time she heard about that sort of thing from him, which further proves that peace was disrupted from someone outside, not from him.
      for the sake of tv drama, his situation is getting scaled up on par with the secret girlfriend of 6 years, despite him making some of the best positive movement on the show

You have a toxic mindset lmao, please fix it before you get in a relationship. What he did was completely selfish, and she was so hurt by that point she was just doing anything to cope. They're still together by the way...like most of these couples

    • @megharoni
      @megharoni 8 місяців тому +2

      @@tortellinifettuccine Um, yeah... I think you misunderstood what I was saying. All I did was compare the effort he puts into bowling with the effort he should put into the relationship. I never said anything about demonstrating commitment this way. This is merely symbolic for them.
      Let me give you an example from my own relationship. I've been happily married for 6 years and with my husband for 13 years total. The worst fight we ever got into was around the time he went to his friend's bachelor party in Florida. I won't get into details, but I was hurt by something he did (wasn't cheating or anything like that). I was about to call off our engagement, I was so mad though. Anyway, he ended up bringing a cast iron crocodile home as a souvenir and afterwards, we talked everything out and forgave each other- I too needed forgiveness for how I reacted.
      Now we display that crocodile prominently in our living room as a reminder to us both that our relationship will always stay strong as iron and that we should always be ready to forgive each other when we are fighting or being selfish. That is our symbol. No one else gets it- the crocodile doesn't exactly go with our mid-century modern decor- but it has a deeper meaning for us. I believe the same is true for them and the bowling scores. As outsiders, we don't have to get it. But if it means something for them in the privacy of their relationship, that's all that matters. I'm glad to hear they're still together. I always root for true love and forgiveness!
      Moral of the story: every relationship is unique and relationships can be complicated. But that doesn't mean we need to give up on them when things get hard. Sometimes, we just need to practice compassion, selflessness, and forgiveness... just like one has to practice bowling to get good at it. That is maturity. And that's definitely not toxic. 😉

      I bowl, that was a 299 game. I've seen one 300 rally irl, the guy got a 299. The entire bowling alley is electric watching someone go for a perfect game during league play. It's like watching magic when you yourself know how hard it is to do. She might not know the particulars of the skill set but she knows his dedication to the sport, and one doesn't casually happen upon a 299. I personally thought it was a super sweet, deeply personal gesture considering it was a point of contention in their relationship. I wish everyone recognized it as such. 😢

Women are always seen as "crazy bitches" by our patriarchal society when they express healthy anger, yet if they allowed themselves to feel their anger more often, they would realize they deserve way better than these tools and stop being wayyyyy to patient and tolerant with them.

      @RS-fy9hb Рік тому +5

      @@cinnamonbits26 This seems like the most plausible and reasonable view of it. Decision paralysis, especially in times of emergency is likely a huge issue, that might stem from a traumatic childhood, or just an upbringing of violence never being an option, like women, or particularly physically fragile or timid men etc.
      What follows is a rant, not rly aimed at whoever I @'ed, but I get generally frustrated with generalizations, or careless characterizations and the fucking boogeyman that is Patriarchy. It's exactly like the matrix for the red pill guys, or the Masons of previous generations. Some shadowy bullshit, that you conveniently can't define, or limit but use as an excuse for everything you've been told and think is wrong in the world.
      Women aren't seen as "crazy" when they express healthy anger, they're seen as crazy when they key a fucking car, or throw clothes out the window, and change locks seemingly unprovoked, because neither party in that relationship communicates properly AT ALL.
      I really dislike that generalization of all women as "crazy bitches" because in my experience, it's very specific behavior that gets you labeled as Crazy, and they're almost always coupled together with some type of diagnosis that goes untreated. Keying cars, changing locks, throwing clothes on the porch, snooping through phones, freaking out over the dude glancing at another girl. That's generally the type of behavior that I, and those around me colloquially recognize as a "crazy" woman, your boogeyman of a nonexistent patriarchy has got nothing to do with it.
      Male domestic violence is a much bigger issue than anyone probably realizes, but because of the lack of proper coping mechanisms and boundaries, or just general self care that men are taught, the only solution they come up with, is to bottle it all inside.
      I don't believe that men and women have the same need to vent, but that doesn't mean that men can survive not venting at all.

    • @loli_cvnt5622
      @loli_cvnt5622 Рік тому +11

      I agree on the blaming patriarchy part but saying women don't get called crazy bitches for expressing reasonable anger in reasonable ways is just wrong. It happens all the time.
      Honestly, in general, the shit middle aged men get away with just thoughtlessly doing every day that a woman would never without being called crazy or a cunt is just a shit ton.
      Blaming the "patriarchy" for every shitty Stereotype is bs but so is just straight up denying that there's differemces between how women and men are treated for the same bullshit coping.

    The people who would have the most work to do are just kicked to the curb early and the ones that were already at a decent place to start out with may get help, or not because it is a game show where the contestants are financially motivated to at least _pretend_ to improve. So really its a test to see who is the best actor, admittedly that does seem to be a hard task for this group who seem to have a compulsive urge to to be cunts out in the open. But at the same time, a decent number of them are definitely manipulators so they would probably accel at pretending to get better but not really.

      I think it was their way of trying to show loyalty to the first girl, who they bonded with first. Aida showed up and acted accusatory towards her off the bat, even though she had no idea about the cheating and he’s the one who betrayed her trust. It took them a bit to adjust and give her a chance after that.
      Of course, their mean girl behavior wasn’t okay, but they are human and I think it was their own way of trying to stand with their new friend who got totally screwed and replaced. The guys on this show have been forgiven for so much behavior that was way more concerning. I think the women also deserve a reasonable degree of understanding, empathy, and grace.

    • @whatever3145
      @whatever3145 Рік тому

      I think they're projecting onto her. Like she's the other woman to them. Theyre projecting every girl their men have cheated w onto this one girl.
      Girls can be mean to eachother. And this esp thrives in these mysogonystic environments. That is why a big part of feminism is girls supporting girls and not blaming them for the actions of their male partners. Back in this day especially absolutely women were cut throat.
      My mom was incredibly mean and judgemental of other women. Still is. Fat shamed me quite a few times. And she also is someone who defends men constantly even after all men have done to her and me in our lives. Its really sad.
      These girls are halfway there. Theyre attacking the new girl out of loyalty to the girl from before. The next step would be confronting the fact that the man is in the wrong and we shouldn't blame other women for the actions of our partners.

First impressions can really impact people. Not defending them, but I feel like that is their rationale for the bullying. But once they realized she wasn’t planted, they lightened up.

    This is really a hard watch. Idk if any of this is scripted or what not, but I genuinely feel for these women. To be told from your boyfriend that he was “chatting with the guys” dissing your looks, weight and talking about how you are in bed badly.. that’s just hurtful. Especially on television
