The world NEEDS a true EFP and Gamma Comparison video... there is not a single one yet and allot of people are confused and asking to this day about the differences.
@user-wh2lh6fb2b A month late and not OP but, GAMMA is more of an RPG with a heavy crafting focus while EFP is more action oriented with a focus on combat. hopefully that helps.
I just started playing anomaly and 5 hours later found out bout gamma and efp. Im still not sure which one to pick :((
@@Murdock_ thats still very vague. What makes EFP more action oriented and GAMMA more rpg like? They both seem to utilize the same survival skill building and crafting mechanics. Only difference i saw was EFP using the mag system.
@@PsycosisIncarnated so in gamma it has its own economy where vendors dont sell armor or weapons so you have to loot weapons off of enemies or find them in stashes and repair them yourself, So it takes a while to get your char off the ground.
In efp the vendors are normal and there are tons of extra tasks and more roaming squads. The weapon and armor repair system is also much less complicated.
I would recommend just trying them both for yourself because its free and why not? hope that helps.

I’m glad you mentioned it cause you can change how many stalkers there are, 1.5 is where it gets a bit crazy, hard to get anywhere with out sacrificing a lot of loot.

1) Is it better to just start again with this 4.0 from scratch or update from 3.0 to 4.0?
2) Do some area's still have huge fps drop, like the Blue Sky base or Duty base?
3) What kind of system specs do you have? Because your fps looks pretty high
4) Can you explain further (in a later video) how to simultaniously install EPF 4.0 AND GAMMA without interfering with each other?
11:50 In the mod menu settings, turned on enhanced recoil and put the bullet hit power up. The guns kick more like in tarkov and feel even more powerful and the bullets hit harder for enemies but also for you too. Definitely try it out, it feels great once you get used to it. Also crouching and leaning reduce recoil.

@@gab_shirohige Look in settings > gameplay > gameplay difficulty and put it to 1.5 or even higher
Guns already do a shit ton of damage as it is compared to other modpacks.
@@MintyLime703 That’s true but I noticed enemies eating bullets still, especially 5.45 fmj which I’m stuck with at the beginning. Hell, even some enemies were eating 7.62 out the SKS like it was nothing
You say look in mod menu setting but then you point to Anomaly setting, which is it? :)
I've only played EFP 3.0 and as far as I know bullet hit power Anomaly setting only increase the player's hit power.
And yeah it's good enough for me at 1 or 1.1.
Keeps the balance vs armor and headshots always work.
Don't know if you noticed or not but they forgot to add the EFT aim rattle mod to EFP 4.0. Guns make no ADS rattle noises. Got to add it yourself.

Both mods are completely badass, Started with EFP 3.0 but have been hooked on GAMMA for the last 2 months. Definitely will have to try 4.0 at some point
efp 4 after correct setting up is much better than gamma: not only because of the content but also from developers reaction to ideas

more or less gun fights just depends on the stalker population factor, so no mod specific attribute but a setting in the options.
Also the different values aviable in the settings can be changed in the ui file, so if you want blowouts only every 14 days for example or crank the corpse despawn radius up you can do that as much as you like.
Exactly, that ZCP in both modpacks. So real difference is the more Tarkov stuff and more colorful shaders. Both are good.
Honestly bro would love an hour plus deep dive into the differences just please put time stamps so we can go back to where we need as a reference. But thank you for the content and jnfo

I like EFP more than Gamma because it’s way more cracked with the gun fights. You really have to be prepared for long gun fights in certain places when tons of enemies are surrounding you from all angles. That makes ammo and med preparation key at all times. Gamma is slow and tedious in comparison and not as hard I think. It looks better with a reshade and running groks gotta go fast enhances the movement in great ways. I love the flow of the combat in EFP, like when you hit a corner and lean aim just feels way better.

also, fun fact: one of the cuts mutants for stalker 2 2011 was the log mutant A damp, half-rotten log, inside which is a fragment of a human face with one eye and an upper jaw. The body is devoid of hair, epidermis, muscles and tendons are exposed. The muscle tissue is partially torn and hangs from the monster's body like tow. No traces of sepsis are observed. To me GAMMA feels like a more curated mod pack. Sometimes when I'm playing EFP, it just feels like an amalgamation of mods and things just thrown ontop of eachother

Well, that is essentially what both are.
I have my Gamma and EFP installed the same as you in different folders, but my mod organizer is the same version for both. Not to mention I've been getting tons of crashing for EFP and yes I've reinstalled the mod pack multiple times including downloaded it multiple times to try and refresh the files.
I think this Is EFPs main drawback, me as well as countless others unfortunately keep having crashes, Its Just so so buggy, Its defiantly a pain to play now unfortunately.
ive put a ton of hours into both. efp is a better game experience, especially for newer players imo. gamma is way too drawn out and takes all of the extremely tedious systems in anomaly and cranks them up to 11 and calls it a game. it makes efp feel like a modded dayz server and gamma is like a completely bone stock vanilla dayz server. no one plays vanilla servers for good reason. shit is lame and drawn out for no reason. efp is grab a gun, repair it and go ham while you complete the story or run around surviving. just a better mod.
edit: also efp runs way better than gamma. they put a ton of time into optimization
I'm 4 days in in GAMMA, still rocking starter colt1911 lol but I'm now able to fully repair a shotty.

Never tried gamma since i couldnt get it to install and gave up on trying but been playing efp 3.0 and 4.0 for a long time and as you said in video its highly customizable,make it harder or easier whatever you want.having a blast playing it😀
Gamma is stupid easy to install. My grandma could do it. What's giving you a problem?
@@BlackHawkTZ i dont run into any problem installing it, yes it simple enough if you just plug and play it as it is. But if you wanna change something in the mod pack like installing new mods, it will has some troubles. Example Gamma has an old version of FAAD that doesnt has backpacks animation like in this video. So i downloaded the newest version of FDDA and install it, disabled the old one, then the game crash on launch. Reversed back to the old one and it's fine.
Also changing some graphical setting ingame sometime give me CTD or shader conpilation error.
If you or anyone know how to properly install the new version of FAAD for Gamma, please help, i meanfully thank you.
@@ckd5098 can't help you there but, the discord is full of guys much smarter than me. Regarding FDDA though, what are you talking about? I don't know where you downloaded Gamma but the current, and previous version (RC 3.2/RC 3) does have the updated FDDA with backpack animation

Not trying to be the one guy, but, this is now the 6th performance video I have tried and no one has mentioned which dx to use, and no one is listing their pc specs. So, literally no ability to gauge whether to up settings based off of advice or to lower them. I'm sorry, I am just tired and its common sense to list the rig your using when making a performance or graphics settings video and also to show the fps while in game. Please don't think I am trying to be a jerk. I love your channel and subscribed, its just frustrating spending hours searching for simple answers and to no avail because of simple things like not listing the type of specs someone is basing their advice off of. You did help me on one thing big time however, and that is the gamma lighting thing. Thank you.
you can actually make the population in gamma efp like. you just need to adjust it in the mdm

would be awesome if they could do the guns like tarkov does. building wise finding attachments and mods and being able to install them at a workbench. would make it easier than having a 100 versions of essentially an ak105 for the tactical versions just have the base models and then all replacement parts. would make each gun personal instead of just a new version.
There is a mod like that it's called (Desolation) it's literally just like tarkov i know some people had it working with EFP 3.0 but im not sure about 4.0.
Because of anomaly 1.5.2 not all mods work anymore and desolation still had bugs even with efp v3

after i playied efp and gamma i love both but i tend to like more efp , they fixed a lot of things from 3.0 that i hated like the cooked food giving you extreme amounts of radiations ,but there s some thing that i like more in gamma like the mutant dogs not one shotting you in an exo suit , id say the med system is better in efp and more immersive , i mean it makes sense to use a splint to fix your broken leg and not a pill,plus they have been working hard on the weapon side in efp compared to gamma , they retextured or remade a lot of the vanilla weapons into modern looking one so you have a reason to use them instead of always going for the bas weapons cause they look and feel better . the economy is better in gamma but thats just a preferrence(on the other hand its also good in efp cause everything is so expensive so youll resort to scavenging your weapons ,armors and crafting your gear anyway like in gamma) . I also preffer the ui in efp ,it seems way more polished and uniform, all the ui elements have the same look and its a better aspect that the ui that looks put togheter from different mods in gamma, . The biggest draw back that i think efp has is the keybinds, theres too many mods with different keybinds and the keywrapper mod doesnt helm in memorising them all , in the end i had to disable some mods cause i didnt have enough keys for them
Based on this video and only played gamma. A question for you sir. You are talking about everything being expensive. I like Gamma's way not to buy guns from shops. Are the guns that expensive its not even worth to buy or what do you mean with this.
@@hartsa2928 the prices vary extremly based on rep , for example if you have no rep with a faction even the most basic bitch ak will cost you 90 to 120k roubles and its just not worth it , and you get less reputation in this game ,this way you are encouraged to scrounge for your gear in the early game but in the late game once you grinded out the faction relation then you can get affordable prices and gear

Hey Tsauce, you mind sharing your PCs technical specs? I am having issues when there's a large gun fight with a lot of NPCs. My PC's framerate drops dramatically. I have a 3070 and find that a bit strange to happen. Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Both have their good points. For me Gamma is the only one that has addressed the huge progression problem that Anomaly has by getting rid of the trader guns and armour. No more just buying top end gear a week into the zone and getting rid of the challenge and the satisfaction of actually feeling like you EARNED this shit. If you're kitted out after a few days, why isn't every other rookie?
You could fix that in anomaly by making traders not buying damaged guns, lowering the prices that traders buys from you, increasing the prices that traders sells to you, and decresing how much you earn per mission, all this without mods and breaking the immersion, I'am an advocate that GAMMA should remove guns from some Stalkers to really sell the impression that the availability of weapons are really really short and buy functional guns for a premium. But consistency in lore are not GAMMA focus so...
As someone who has played much of Gamma, the progression was fun and refreshing initially after being a long time anomaly player, but after a while it feels like artifical difficulty, and needless bloat to waste more time doing... what?
Rather then playing the game, its micromanaging each little item and resource, the game wants you to play like a kleptomaniac, but instead punishes you with low carryweight, and further punishes you with trash mission rewards. I hauled ass, killed high value targets, and made enough money to buy myself a nice lunch... doesn't sound balanced, nor realistic at all.
The delicious part of the cookie that is Stalker is the zone itself, going through the unique areas and encountering dynamic unscripted events unique to your game. That gets sidelined by; "Okay, 15 missions down, I can almost finally have enough money to repair this piece of shit AK, as well as a couple bullets so I can go continue to do even more missions, to get even more money, to barely progress and next thing I know my wife and kids have left me, I have been fired, and 800 hrs of my life has been wasted repeating the same missions over and over..."
I won't deny that it makes it feel rewarding, but there is much to discuss about what constitutes fun gameplay, and playing a game purely for the grind is more of a sign that you are addicted and need to take a break.
@@HunkWhiteim late to the party but.. I add on top of that, item cost modifier (to make some guns and outfits really premium), trader destockifier so they have only 1 Big gun and 3 pistols per rotation, make them refresh every 3 hours, and traders sell random condition items
I would live a detailed break down and gamma 1.0 seems to be a fair ways off

Gamma has a better UI, easy install. It's gameplay is about less but more lethal combat and degraded gear. Crafting is a priority and part of the progression path in order to complete some of the main stories.
Performance is better as well. That's the spark notes.
I will miss the hd models in 4.0, was just getting used to them.

I definitely prefer EFP v4. I added the faction identification mod and visible legs from gamma and I'm really digging it. If anyone has any other mods from gamma that make EFP even better, please for the love of god hit that reply button.
EFP pretty much hits it on the head with the already existing mods. It's pretty cool, has pretty much everything I wanted.

you should try out the screen space shaders and the enhanced shaders and colour grading mods then you don't need a reshade and the game looks better without one

My pc specs are - 3080 gpu 12700k cpu 16 gigs of ram, I keep forgetting to say my system specs lol also still testing EFP but so far it runs really Good it does have small stutters here and there, some times I get them and other times I don't get them at all not sure what the cause is.

I am new to these mod packs, but I found it difficult to make Gamma playable, takes long to download, install etc and I had some problems so I had to re-do all. EFP was much easier to start playing, all feel a bit complex so easier to setup, a bit more light weight, I decided on EFP 4.0
you play how YOU want, this alone is why i have dropped countless games in lue of S.T.A.L.E.R.. Nowadays all the "metas" and sbmm takes away from what a game should be and i feel like after years of playing games that can only be played in one way I've finally found a game thats "fun" because i can make it what i want to play.

Yo Tsauce do you know if i can install HD models mod with the G.A.M.M.A modpack? cause when i tried to install it, it crashed before even booting up the game and i tried changing the priority but it still didn't work it actually worked partially because it let me get to the menu but when selecting and loading the save it loaded but then when the message "Enter the zone" appeared it crashed pls help me or if anyone can help me i would really much appreciate it.
I need a modpack that merges the weapons and whatnot.
If anyone is trying to decide between the two I personally like EFP v4 far more than gamma. Gamma feels good if youre playing loner faction or a similar one and the immersion is in line with the faction. A loner wandering the zone starting with so little and having to find everything not being able to buy anything. But for instance I normally like to do a roleplay level character as say duty or merc, or uni. And personally it doesnt make sense that a NATO backed uni or merc has zero resources to use. So personally I like EFP more because its faster to get into the mid tier sets and weapons and start experiencing the fights and exploration. Gamma feels far slower overall but makes more items have a higher value due to not being able to buy them, more survival and exploration orientated. EFP V4 feels like single player tarkov with mutants and more time spent fighting yet still retains the base stalker feel and enjoying the exploration/survival aspects

There's a mod called "TRADER DESTOCKIFIER" i haven't tried it in EFP yet but it has options that can make guns and armor not spawn in trader stock but I just play like i'm on gamma and don't buy the guns or amor,
I may add that mod later on to make the game a little harder by limiting items i can buy.

That's something I had to change in Gamma. It did get a little silly that every enemy stalker had a busted gun with 3 bullets on them.
Hey dude. Do you know how much space it take in SSD/Hardrive? I know gamma take 70 gigabyte
I think it's about 38 gigs, 22.5 gb for the mods folder 16.3gb for the stalker folder. That's after extracted and installed.

GAMMA only takes 57gb on mine, Anomaly 16.3gb and GAMMA install is 40gb.

Which of these modpacks run better for you? (performance wise)
EFP is running really good so far but im still testing it and need to explore more areas I do get small stutters here and there and as for GAMMA it also runs really Good but I'll get stutters on there as well (even with the stutter option checked) it's not horrible though, but places like dead city I drop to like 30 fps, GAMMA use to run better but it's been a little chuggy for me lately. But as for EFP it runs really Good but I haven't been everywhere yet.

Which Is more realistic ? Efp or gamma ?
I prefer GAMMA, aside one thing: ammo.
I feel that it’s just too unbalanced, as it’s incredibly hard to get good ammo, to the point where you’re forced to constantly grind hunting, artifacts, and looting simply to build up enough ammo to go on deep ventures north into the more hostile areas. Then repeat.
5.56 isn’t too bad, but 7.62 is hard to get (and all the decent guns are this caliber), AP for it is ridiculously expensive (12k for 15 rounds), and breaking down found ammo to craft still doesn’t give enough for me to be able to fight. I find that instead of exploring the zone I’m stuck in a tedious cycle to just have enough ammo to do so.
I just end up debugging and giving myself an initial surplus of ammo at my home base, then trying to purchase/disassemble/craft as much as I can, but I always eventually run dry.
I felt this too. I think they need to add more ammo stock to traders. It's really the weakest point of the mod. Awkward when you have 100k rubles saved up and nothing to spend it on.
They do have a mod called mags buyable dude, and the price can be config in mcm. Gamma let you decide the vibe man.
This. Problem lies on Grok's Ballistic Overhaul. If you don't use the super duper rare and expensive ammo the enemy tanks 10 shots to the face, turns around and 2 taps you. I then enabled god mode, invisibility and health bar to test the damages, and even with 100% barrel, AP ammo, 3x damage multiplier and being super close they eat a lot of shots.
And the best part is the modpack is customizable except for this shitty overhaul, if you disable it you get crashes. People on discord even say that if you don't like the overhaul you better off uninstalling GAMMA altogether then trying to disable it.
I compared this two mods, tryied and my finall verdict is, GAMMA is a kraft festival and mayby it's kind a fun for peoples but this dosen't have sence in Zone where every STALKER should have their own weapons in good condition. The krafting aspect have only sence when you are looking on STALKER as a game hard survival. EFP is the best mod in my opinion and have mechanics which are more logical in life in Zone.
So u need 2 different anamoly folder if u want both mod?

Playing GAMMA for some time. It's worth to leave GAMMA and jump into EFP v4? New weapon pack and more furniture looks very nice!
The gunplay feels good and the game looks really nice but that's where the good ends for me. Personally the progression makes no sense to me. I just cannot make money, even with increased sell prices. Tasks give me just barely enough for food. I've spent like an hour just walking and regaining stamina trying to get enough money just to buy some bread. It's not even in a hardcore sense, it just doesn't MAKE sense. It clearly wants to be more about combat but I can't get to the combat because I can't even feed myself and still have enough left over for meds and ammo. Guns are easy to repair (don't need kits to remove and install barrels) so there's plenty of them to go around, but there's not shit I can do without supplies. Ive heard that higher trader levels make it easier but I gotta get to that point to begin with. Keybinds are a bit of an annoyance to set up as well.
It's worth trying out but I think if you're enjoying GAMMA you should just continue with that. Finish your playthrough and then give EFP a go so you can give it your total attention. It's a little jarring swapping between the two.
@@MintyLime703 you should try and not spend money on food and water, refill flasks at any water and boil it at campfire, same with mutant meat if you don't have cooking kits.
can you change the EFP trader system to remove guns and armour like GAMMA?
Why would you want to do that though? In EFP 4.0 traders only have a limited selection of guns to buy and they're very expensive, not to mention they don't sell armour or helmets (only gasmasks).
they have older BaS so you won't see the newer guns in the latest ver. of BaS

I've had installed EFP, downloaed everything shown in video but I can't past after character creation screen. After creating my MC it just crash at the loading screen 😪😪

No they removed them due to it making the mod pack unstable, you can still install them on your own but I've heard it's causing crashes.

I wish GAMMA's economy was in EFP. I like the idea of finding and scavenging your gear and not having a billion guns at every vendor but most of the rest of the stuff I prefer in EFP.
In my experience traders in EFP have a very limited selection of weapons and they're very expensive, to the point where buying weapons is not worth it until very late into the game. Not to mention they don't sell any armor or helmets, only gasmasks.
Thanks for the video bro! My conclusion of Gamma vs EFP. I played vanilla, EFP 3.0 and Gamma for +- 100 hours each.
GAMMA is HARDER than EFP by far. More hardcore on all aspect. (Looting, healing, weapon maintenance and item craftings). EFP = jump straight to the fun part. No hobo momments.
Now im pretty much done with gamma and going back to efp 4.0. I strongly suggest for new players to play Gamma first then EFP.
So far this is not the case with v4 I was stuck in hobo phase for a fair while with my russian contract 1911 constantly being stuck with no food. I had a far easier time with gamma and really missed mags redux while playing gamma and yes I could have enabled it but at the time of playing it didn't have very good support and Grok did not encourage using it things are very different now.
no hobo in EFP? i have never bought a single helmet, vest, or weapon in EFP 3.0, i cant never afford it.
Maybe u have tweaked the economy, the worst 5,45 ammo cost me 2000rubles for 15 bullets.
@@panzerabteilung I'm playing efp v4 right now still stuck with my starting medium armour and I've explored most of the southern zone efp is definitely harder than gamma and has a huge hobo phase I had an exo suit with an apocalypse helm at this point in gamma.

I'm learning just regular anomaly but really looking at mods for it. I'd love to see an in depth video on the differences between these 2 mod packs. Also, any mods anyone can recomend would be awesome. Kinda looking at the bullet time mod.. anyone use that?
mods i like really are sprint cancel aim and lean toggle, inventory weights revised and crooks faction identification ui

@@rabbidninja79 in the setting u can turn on toggle for things like lean (so u dont need to hold down q or e u just press it once) and the sprint cancel mod makes it so that while u lean and u start to sprint its cancels the lean for u and u start to sprint

Know how to improve gamma fps getting 30% less than efp4.0 and stutters, tried all the basic stuff and discords advice does anyone know if theres a mod with heavy preformance impact in gamma I can turn off so it doesn't play so much worse
@@-Gatsu after alot of testing I matched the a life and any other big factors between them efp runs very well at preformance settings like nice textures ana but less draw distance less grass but when I amp up the setting they both run around the same fps and gamma has far less stutters than efp in my testing

In your video you have blue sunrays, thats a lightning bug. Dont use that config, change to screenspace.
also disable volumetric smoke and antia-liasing (MSSA) x4. Only use with SMAA on medium! the antia-liasing option dont work in this build of anomaly (1.5.1-1.5.2), it will be fixed in the version 1.6. The only diferrence apeers on the power lines and dont work well with SMAA. In anohter words, diable antia-liasing (MSAA) and play with your SMAA only

It looks better, has a cleaner UI, etc.
EFP needs more time to be as good or better.

EFP 4.0 (easy Install)
GAMMA (A pain in the ass launcher Broken Install)
Conclusion? EFP best modpack ever
