This video is so much of why you're one of my favourite You Tube puzzlers! I love how you get an idea in your head and give it your all. Oh my goodness, talk about persistence! I cannot imagine doing one puzzle that many times, let alone within a day or two. But, you chased after your goal, and YOU DID IT! Amazing! And I always appreciate your honesty when talking about your experiences. Combine all of that with great tips that anyone can take away -- love, love, love it! Great job as always Emilia! :)
I completely understand your point about the confidence boost. You have proven to yourself that you are physically able to do a 500 piece puzzle in less than 30 minutes. That has to feel good.
It was the best feeling ever. I’m happy I continued the next morning (I would prpbably highly disagree though if I actually would have still been the same speed). We also did our new team record this week, 38mins, so I’m all hyped!
This is one of your best videos! It really shows your dedication and grit and motivates me to practice more efficient. I actually tried the exact same challenge to get under 40 minutes, but ended up doing my puzzle 4 times and gave up at 53 minutes thinking I'm never gonna make it so why bother. Thank you for showing me how its done 😅
I honestly did not plan to continue the next day but I felt like I had to. No matter what. I literally have air bubbles in my feet from standing too much. I think giving up after fourth time is the healthy way to puzzle. 😅 But yeah, it’s possible to shake off quite many minutes if you just keep going! Also #neveragain 🤣
What an accomplishment! I can't believe you managed to do it for 10 hours in a row. Sleeping over it helped a lot. I am so happy for you that you achieved your goal. As an other commenter said, your channel ist THE place to go for useful training tips. Hope your company didn't suffer too much from your puzzling marathon.
Thank you so much! I even had to charge my camera twice in between. And luckily I can ”choose” on my own working hours so just working double on another day. 😊 I happy to hear you find my tips benefial!
I work as a developer and when I have a hard problem to solve I can't leave it be. Most solutions come in the shower. So I understand that you dream about puzzles. You did a 500 puzzle in less than 30 minutes. I do puzzles to center my brain and calm down. Tried during this video to solve a 50 pieces puzzle and did it in 20:20. So almost 10 times slower than you :) You are amazing.
That’s an excellent reason to do puzzles. I also use the rubber duck method known from debugging to help me with speed puzzling. I have this ”rubber duck” that I talk to when I get stuck. However, I don’t work as a developer, but as a growth marketer working closely with them I have found many tips from IT world to be useful elsewhere. 😊 Thanks for the nice comment!
Oh wow, well done Emilia! 🤩 I might actually try this same thing with Garden Visitors, because it's the challenge puzzle of Vienna Jigsaw Puzzle Club this month... 🤪 But of course my goal wouldn't be 30 minutes! 😂
Thanks! I tried my all with this. I had a short moment of doing Garden Visitors for this but then I thought that maybe it’s not fair for VJPC challenge. I will take part in that on Instagram!
Thank you so much!! I had no idea what’s gonna happen when I started filming this. So happy in the end. Ps. I loved your unicorn hat in the USA Nationals!
Definitely a good exercise! But...maybe over more than 2 days! I picked up the latest USAJPA speed run puzzle, and the idea behind that one is to do it many times and see how fast you can get it. Congrats on under 30--that's an amazing time, even after several attempts!
Thanks you! And yep, definitely. If I would have come up with this idea earlier I would have booked more days to film. Or maybe not. I had no idea how many tries it will take. 😅 That speed run puzzle sound interesting!
You can do it! And that's the way to do it. Last year I started with the 90min goal (as it was the max. limit for Wolrds), then 80mins, then 70mins. Then one hour (this was actually after WJPC), and now I do most puzzles in 50 something. Next goal is to have average of 40 something! :)
I'm competing, and in the classifications rounds you can do as many times as you want for one week and submit your fastest, I stopped myself at ten, but maybe 11 is lucky. This week, I'm doing the 300 pieces, but the finals are a 500. I'm not as fast as you, but I would like to know what's a good 300 time? Congratulations on doing your goal 🎉. Hopefully, by the time you go to worlds, you are solid under 50 minutes. PS: My first attempt was 01 hour 07 minutes and 57 seconds, it's a hard puzzle, more than half is a garden (the maze kind), there's a castle, and 3 rows of sky
Oh cool. What competition is that, some local online competition? 🤩 For me, goal for 300 pieces is 25mins. I would aim around half of the time it takes for you to do 500 piece puzzle. :)
@@puzzlewithemilia Yes it's a local one, it's organized by A Casa do Quebra-Cabeça and the Brazilian Association, it's called Olimpíadas de Quebra-Cabeça 2024. They do it every year but it's my first time participating. PS: you can see the competitions puzzle on their website
Well that was an interesting video. You exhausted yourself for the sake of timing! ⏲ I'm sure you are well aware that how you do the puzzle affects how long it takes. For some puzzles the image makes it difficult to sort effectively in any way. 🧩 The first time I did the Poke Bowl jigsaw it took me 3 hours, the second time I shaved off 11 minutes. The first time I just turned all the pieces and got busy. Second time, two months later, I colour sorted so that may have been why I was 11 minutes faster. Being a Speedy Gonzales🏎is not my goal, I puzzle for pleasure and I've been puzzling for nearly 60 years now. The BOTYP I do just for fun with no expectation of getting anywhere near the top. I shall be interested to see what the jigsaw is for BOTYP 4, which I think is in June.
I have also done the Poke Bowl and definitely my fastest time with that. I was trying to not sort but to pick up pieces based on the pattern on them. It was hard. I should try it out for the second time! I saw next BOTYP is with the Ravensburger Anniversary puzzle. I actually have that one even though they don’t have a form to fill this time. Maybe I should do it anyway!
@@puzzlewithemilia That Ravensburger Anniversary puzzle is not available to the general public. As far as I am aware not many were produced and only those who attended Worlds would have been able to get one. The next BOTYP for the general public is in June.
@@puzzlewithemilia Hhmm, that's interesting. If I google the image nothing comes up at all and searching using words doesn't get me anywhere. Where did you get yours from?

Thank you! My determination is fueled by being annoyed of not achieving something 🤣
OMG! that´s insanely fast! good job Emilia and the puzzle community can handle a challenge 😍
Thank you so much 🤗 So much time and effort put into this but I had to see it through if I can do it or not. At least I got to practise my stamina.
This is amazing! And so inspiring. Now I want to see if I can crack the one hour mark, then try 50 minutes.😅
