  • Sailing around Sualwesi, Indonesia. We sailed through the night on our way to a lovely city called Baubau in South-East Sulawesi. We spent a few days there exploring the amazing 16th century fort, actually the biggest fort in the world. Next we sailed up the Buton Straight and found a beautiful spot to anchor for a few days. We got to show Eli some beautiful coral reef but man, we had a LOT of rain in that week!
    Enjoy

    If she already called little Eli grumpy, I wonder what she sometimes call you, Vernon! Keeping it real... always... mostly! 😅 You got a good one there mate. Congrats to both for being awesome!

    Marie excellent video. Vernon, you can now focus on boat jobs lol. Eli is growing up so fast. What worries me with you swimming in such a beautiful scenic area is that Sulawesi is known for its Sea Crocodiles. Aren't you afraid of swimming in the unknown surroundings. I am sure you have spoken and had fact checked all this out before coming to the area. Great drone shots in this video as well
    Looking forward to next video

      We are asking locals always about crocs before going to swim. There are some sea crocodiles in Sulawesi for sure but most places, they killed so much the underwater life than even a croc would not able to survive 😂 there were nothing to eat for them there !

    It's an unreal to think there's over 8 billion humans on earth, yet you can go to some places and not see a soul for days on end. It's even more unbelievable when you can do that in a paradise, it's not a waterless and oppressive desert, but paradise. Love it mate, great times

      It was definitely in the best ones but the lack of underwater life definitely made this place a bit under some others, as we love watching animals 😅

    • @SailingLearningByDoing
      @SailingLearningByDoing  3 місяці тому

      Yeah what Marie said, visually it was stunning but in a spot like this you’d normally see heaps of baby sharks, Rays, and different fish. These places are nursery’s basically but here we saw almost nothing alive underwater.

    Lol, you're "partner"? Oh, how close you two must be. Gee wiz, he's your hubby, your old man, your husband, the father of your child ...unless you're woke, then he's your .. partner

    • @SailingLearningByDoing
      @SailingLearningByDoing  3 місяці тому +4

      A perfect example of someone who's not aware of other cultures? You probably heard that Marie is not a native English speaker, she's French. Can you really imagine a French person saying any of the words you wrote? We get people from 50 or so countries watching our videos. Outside of your country who do you imagine would understand sayings like "my old man, Hubby etc?

    • @marie-morganerousselin2352
      @marie-morganerousselin2352 3 місяці тому +5

      Any words I am using, I have always someone to tell something 😅! I was saying lover, and people told me it was for people who has an affair, I can’t tell husband as we are not married and I said than he is the father of our son. As Vern said, English is my second language and doing voice over in another language is really hard for me as I can’t find the precise words of my mother tongue… but jumping on conclusions of being woke or not, and the way you are commenting it… I hope you are speaking many other languages perfectly to feeling untitled to judge my way of speaking English

    • @Antipodean33
      @Antipodean33 3 місяці тому +3

      I don't know if they're married or not, but by using the word "partner" I'd assume they're not married, but partners. I'm a 62 year old father of 4 and I refer to my "missus" as my partner, as we're not married. Also we're Aussie's and in our lingo an "old man" is your father, not your fella or bloke. For me 'partner" is the go too in Australia at least
