Take Your BJJ Stack Pass to the Next Level with These Details (Gi & No Gi)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 21 кві 2022
- If you're like most BJJ practitioners, you learned some form of a stack pass very early on as a White Belt. And for good reason. It's a strong guard pass that puts a lot of pressure on your opponent.
But like many of the Brazilian Jiu-jitsu techniques we learn early on many people exchange the stack pass for something else because they feel the need for more advanced techniques.
Well, in today's video I'm going to show you how I use the stack pass in an "advanced" Black Belt way. This video is chock full of ideas and details that could be used for multiple positions. So, if you're attention span has been ruined by social media this may not be the video for oyu. But assuming you're up for learning how to take your double under or stack pass to the next level, then check the video out.
Enjoy the video. I hope it's helpful.

I'm a white belt watching black belt content... AND YOU CAN'T STOP ME! MUAHAHAHAHA! XD
Same let's keep on getting smashed and improving brother 🤣
white belts unite 😂
@@lukefernandez6326 Indeed. Black belts need us to practice on....
White belt privilege
Wow u vile, nefarious man 😎💀. Watching black belt stuff as a WHITE BELT? Insanity
Already love this series
I am a blue belt, and do this pass alot from standing. But I love the little details that I think will improve my favorite pass alot. Cheers Chewy.
Dang. Three stripe 55 y.o. white belt and watching this makes me realize how much there is to learn. And, Chewy and Adam have forgotten more techniques than I have time to learn before I am put to sleep for good. Thanks guys! I'll keep going until my coaches stop teaching me.
@Greg Lurik Yes! We are the human grappling dummies….
focus on strength, mobility and conditioning so that your body can handle the training sessions bro and you'll keep rolling until your 70s like Helio Gracie!
black belt here, you added great details, thank you
I try to watch what was covered in my class in your videos and as a 35 day white belt and watching over and over your instructional videos have improved my way tremendously
Thanks a lot for all your help
I re -watched this yesterday, in prep for open mat today, I applied the 1st pass well and avoided being tepeed etc.
That part where you cut with the knee into side control is what I have been missing!
Awesome. Hope the detail helps.
I really dig this new format.
Dope! Excited for this series and whats coming next!💪🏾💪🏾
Thank you so much for this video. It’s inspired me to go back to under passes, both double and single. The tips here helped me a lot today, especially how to beat them blocking by putting their hand on the hip. I’m a purple belt and it’s funny how things can make you feel like a white belt
Same here!
A balance between this and your usual videos will be great!
One of the best instructionals I’ve seen on UA-cam in a long time. Bravo
Appreciate it.
Thanks for this! My favourite pass, and I'm looking forwards to trying your details!
Love the concept of this series!
Love this pass and you nailed the heck out of the details here, Chewy. Greatly helpful instructional and I very well may become a back hunter myself! Ossss!
Fantastic details. Thank you.
Dude I love the details! Awesome video!
Mate this is legit, thank you 💜
Thanks coach! Still a white belt but close to blue. Train every day. Really appreciate the series!👊
This was one of my money passes up till purple when I had the same issue you did looking at their back. Looking forward to bringing it back into the fold with some black belt spice!
This series is going to be a banger! Thank you
Awesome. Love the multi attack concept. One of my favorite passes. Thanks.
Thank you, Professor!
pumped, as this is a go to move for me,
Wow. Damnnnn now this is extra frikken GOOD!! Especially @ 6:20. Wow.
Adam @13:17 had me dyin 🤣
Always useful🤩 thanx chewy! I will be drilling this as my new double under, since I can’t get what was taught to work ‘I’m at that blue belt level’
This is gonna be an awesome series!
GOLD!!! Great video
really appreciate you technique breakdowns, hope to see more of thesw!
Going to study this all night and try it tomorrow morning lol

13:12 Adams face LOL
Love the details i appreciate you alot!
Best video ever, thx.
Phenomenal !
I like those long videos
Hey Chewy,
I'm 38 and started my BJJ journey 5 months ago. After each session my body aches every time for 3+ days. The feeling is similar to that when you train for the first time in a long time. Knees, ankles and wrists hurt too. This did not happen when I was boxing.
Where should I start looking for solution? Is it likely to be nutrition? Does the body need more time to get used to it or am I getting too old for this?
Thanks
Play half guard.
“Can’t quite get it in.”
Uke: 😏
Long ones are the best! 🤙
WOOOOOOO
Awesome details, much appreciated!! I have been usine this pass qu'une a lot and recently one of my training partner has been attacking with no-arm triangle every times; any tips to prevent it or defend ?
Thank you Chewie and Adam for sharing this. Tried it today and ran into a fork on the mat. Q: do you recommend one knee center under their butt and the other leg stepping out to the side -or- the knee by the side butt cheek/hip as the other foot steps out? Thanks!
Hey Professor Chewy, awesome video, thank you so much for the multi-angle explanation about taking the back, I can't wait to try this out!
I have two questions, one related to the video and one is more general in nature, I hope that's ok.
1) I have been trying the double under pass more often recently (I am a 2 stripe white belt), but I keep nearly catching toes or heels to the face when I try to shoot in. Should I being gripping their legs/feet for more control until I get the timing and opportunity recognition down? Also, on the other side of the coin this looks pretty difficult to defend against, will you be covering that in a future video?
2) This one is a bigger topic to me because it's so fundamental: spatial awareness. What's the most efficient way to develop this skill? When I see higher belts roll, they always seem to have a fairly accurate inventory of the opponent's limbs, it's almost instinctive for them. I, however, absolutely do NOT know how to maintain that inventory. Is it mostly an experience thing or is there something else I should be doing to develop this skill?
Thanks for reading, have a fantastic weekend!
1. having hand contact with ankles/knees will negate that alot. just something you have to play with, in my experience.
2. spatial awareness just takes time and a lot of repetition. it's like driving a car. when you first start, it takes a lot of brain power to keep driving and change the radio. now it's like 2nd nature. hope these answers help, good luck!!!
Hey chewy man I have a question for you I have been pondering starting bjj or judo personally I prefer judo but bjj seems to be the shit but I'm a bit claustrophobic and I have a tendency to black out when I lose my temper so what I am asking is if I lose it is it safe to assume that a experienced roller will not break my bones ? I don't mind being in pain for a while I'm a fighter but don't need more broken bones. Cheers man love your content 👌
Around @13:40 you mention you're shooting in for the double under, but you have 1 arm under & 1 arm over. This entry is typically not advised, due to potential triangle from guy on the bottom.
Please clarify why this move is called double under & when is safe to use against someone who is good at triangles?
Does this need to be modified if they cross their ankles?
chewy, I'm a purple belt who usually goes for knee cut or back step passes. as I try to work lower passes like double under, under over etc I keep running into people stopping me with lapel grips. coming from a no gi background, I tend to lead with my head. any suggestions???
How are they using the lapel?
How to deal with someone choking with his legs in double under? Im not able to get an ankle and the choke feels like its on just when i enter. With and without locked hands behind the legs
Great video, one question. Is there any concern for the defender to lock his legs around your head when you begin your entry? If so, how should one respond?
I got a brand new guy at the gym trying this on me because he thinks it's a submission, it's not, you keep going. If anything it makes it easier to pass because the defense would be to make your legs further apart and lower.
hay chewy! i really like this pass. i've found myself in similar positions and ive had people lock down on my head with there legs with the double under, i was wondering how you deal with that?
Saving for a video
I am just here for Adam Wilson spirit fingers
Is it just me or does Adam look just like the coach in Ted Lasso??
Oh yeah, great video Chew!
It feels unfair that my coach has been doing jiujitsu for longer than youve been alive but is still has one stripe less on his belt. He has never complained or anything Im just mad at how tough hes had it.
Huh?
@@Chewjitsu My thought exactly when I read this.
Show it first. Too much talk
No bitchin’. I gave you a disclaimer at the beginning of the video.
