My dad had a 67 Chev 1/2ton I inherited. It was a six cylinder 3 on the tree. I had the engine rebuilt and put in a 4 spd. Then I gave it to my son. Great truck. I always wondered about the GMC V6. Thanks for the info. I lived a year up on Mt. Hull between Oroville and Tonasket many years ago. Then I lived and worked in a huge Orchard at the bottom of Mt. Hull. Some good memories in that area. When living up there I had a 48 Chev 3/4 ton with a 57 Chev 6 Cyl. There was an old wrecking yard down toward Pateros that had some old Chev pu's that I got a clutch and u-joints from before driving back down to southern Idaho where I lived before and since.
Wow man. I am subscribed and didnt know you were in orville wash My dad is from there and i have family there i believe. Wild. I haven’t been there in 35 years. I love these trucks you show and the way you show em off. Peace
I've had a 65 gmc 1/2 ton with a 305 E v6 4 spd. And a 66 gmc one ton 351 E v6 4 spd that was a motorhome.Out of all the trucks I have had and and seen in the last 27 years of dealing with 65 - 72 trucks is the only thing here that's rare to me is the fact that it has an automatic. Most I've seen always had 3 spd or 4 spd. Nice to see your driving it the way it is because there aren't many left out there. Most people typically pull the v6 out and throw them away.
I have a 68 extra long bed 117 long step side with the 305 np435 . Cool running truck getting hard to get parts for it unfortunately. The extra long bed was impossible to get the steel hold downs for wooden bed so sad to say I made it a standard long bed. The biggest thing I found is keep the valve set right then it's a nice running engine with diesel torque. It is a bit of a fuel pig but who cares .
Several years ago MyVintageiron did a series of videos rebuilding one of the 305 engines. I’ve been a mechanic for a long time and I knew very little about these engines. His rebuild series taught me a lot about how they were designed. Pretty much a slow revving bulletproof truck engine. With the right gears they’ll pull way more than one would expect.
Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ Very nice truck. Interestingly the truck came from Bellingham Washington and I came from Bellingham Massachusetts 😂 I had a 66 1 ton four-wheel drive GMC with a 305, it certainly wasn't fast but plenty of torque. I had a 7 ton GMC dump with a 401, talk about piss poor fuel economy. I think I got about 4 MI to the gallon. You certainly do some awesome work dude 👍✌️🇺🇲
I’m working on a 66GMC for a friend right now. It also has the V6-305. Also has a Dana 44 rear axle. I believe it has a NP435 with 1st gear being way forward. Interesting similarities.
My dad had a 67. Straight 6 3 on the tree. Short box with the heater as an option and dog dish hub caps and very weird it was ordered with the opera window. And no radio
Worked real GMC TRUCK DEALER. In 70s. Had brochures parts nos sheetmetal dating back to. 60s. These trucks taken in trade for new squarebodies gor 1k. Then sold for 1500 bucks.. dealer closed then all parts paper sheet, teal. Scrapped>.shame
1970 was my favorite Chevy, 1967-- 1972 GMC was my favorite GMC's. I always leaned to the GMC.

I grew up and my parents still live in the same spot at the foothills of mt hull… in what years did you live here ?
Following the addiction!! Finally another video. Great find. Keep up the great work.
Have a bunch of videos I have filmed over the summer that I am finally getting around to editing ! Sorry for the wait
HI from the D MI 😎 hey thanks for sharing your time and information much appreciated 👍 the details of a 67 GMC Truck 🤩🤙😎

What a great video. Very cool GMC. Nice to see you save another one.👍🏻
67-72 are my absolute favorites. You have great taste my friend!

I’ve got a 1961 GMC K-1000 305 v6 4speed 4x4
GMC actually made a V12 version of this engine 1960 through 65 in the 7000 series GMC truck. 702 ci.
This is a throw back to the 348 409 as GM did many times they whacked the rear two cylinders off and made a v6 out of it. Great engine really cool
No, that’s a very common misconception. The engines share nothing in design or architecture
The valve covers “look” similar. Nothing in common except made by GM

My dad had one of those and Chevy at the same time both had 6s and the v6 had more power and got a lot better gas milage
Screw that Patina poo. Paint it when it is mechanically solid. It will be a great truck, it should look nice.
Mats are from dealer parts get a wood bed kit from net along with new. Runners
Good
I have a 69 V-6,305, auto, long bed, 3/4 ton no rust, runs, has a knock at 2000 rpm, $2000 pm me for number.

Torque❤
One curious question. I thought 67 Chev and GMC had front fender side lights. Some of yours do, some don't, weren't they standard?
No side markers on any 1967s.. that one here in the video had a later fender put on it. Starting the next year they all started have side markers
Are going to put 4 eld block on it?😊
It's 98.9 rock I know that radio 📻 station
I'm am looking for a v 6 big block myself
I know of a 409 v6 gmc grain truck in my area
Likely a 401 if it’s a v6 truck
@GoldCityTrucks the old guy Said 409, but I'm sure you're right
Strange it doesn't have air
Sound like a 4.3 v6 haha
Doesn’t it ? Haha I want to put a flowmaster on it and I bet it will sound just like one
305 was a v8 not a v6
Watch video and learn something new. 2 separate engines. These 305 v6s predated the small
Block chevy 305 v8s by many years.
305
It’s v8
And the shape of the engine it’s a v8 not v6
In correct, watch video or maybe do a little more research. Count spark plug wires. You can also clearly hear in the video that it’s a v6
Wrong go back to school and do some research
305 is a v8 small block Chevy engine not a big block or a v6
Watch video, and learn why you are wrong!
I am not wrong
@@bryantidwellyes you are! You can learn something new today if you decide to open you mind a little bit!
