This isn't a "trailer", it is an art that inspire: "Hope"
It's interesting how all the timeless masterpieces were disliked by many fans and critics when they first came out, mostly because they broke new ground. Critics didn't like Alien, gave 2001: A Space Odyssey bad reviews, weren't too keen on Batman Begins, et cetera. Then a few years go by, and the same people laud them as landmark films. I think we will see that with Man of Steel. Once the DC Universe movies are in full swing, Man of Steel with get some reevaluation in a new light, and it will get the praise it deserves (though already some critics are already changing their minds about it... it's amazing how fast that happens these days).

this is an absolute masterpiece. I will never understand the hate that this movie gets. Henry Cavil IS Superman. This teaser never fails to give me goosebumps. saw it in theaters for the first time & i was in awe. Didn’t know what i was watching at first, then once the little boy put his hands on his hips with a red cape, my jaw dropped. Then seeing Superman fly away was just … wow. Whoever created this needs an award
It was a good cinema but where's the daily planet, metropolis, the Clark Kent disguise, etc... It felt like they threw a Superman on earth type of movie

Still to this day, July 2019, my favourite teaser trailer of all time.
I think it was the "hope" theme and atmosphere that the whole movie was lacking. It's so strong in this trailer and so weak in the actual film. I find it interesting how some music can change the feel and meaning of some footage, the solemn music and narration on this teaser gave the feeling of hope and epicness surrounding clark and his quest for finding his place on the world and encountering his destiny, sadly I feel like the movie barely touched into this journey.
Luis Xiake You worded it perfectly!!!! omg!!!! I've been having countless arguments as to why this movie wasn't good but I couldn't find the right words so my arguments failed. All I kept saying was "yes all the actors were perfect, the camera angles were spot on & the fight scenes were amazing but there was nooo substance!!!!". The 3rd official Man of Steel trailer is the best superman film there is and sadly it's only 3 min. long. I felt so inspired after watching that trailer and when I saw the movie I was completely let down. I pray to god that batman v superman turns it all around.
BLOODBORNE PVP I saw your comment and I don't disagree, but would rather offer a different way of looking at it. The trailer talks of Clark "becoming" the hope of all mankind. One day he will reach that place where he can be the great example to the world. I think what we are seeing in the movies is his journey to that place. In Man of Steel he accepts what he has to become and finally begins that journey even though he really does not know how and makes a lot of mistakes. Hence Metropolis being destroyed and so on. In Batman v Superman we will see people growing dependent on Superman. And rather than striving to be like him, and find a way to over come a situation as people, they would rather have this new"God" do it for them. As the other films continue, I think we will eventually see him become the Superman he was born to be. But like with everyone, it takes time to reach one's full potential, and I think those growing pains are what they are giving us in the movies. Just my opinion.
this was the music when the Fellowship escaped the Mines of Moria and were crying over the death of Gandalf... not exactly "hope"...

Him jumping at first reminded me of the old cartoon ones where i leaps over a tower building lol, and that homage to Christopher Reeve Superman and saw him in Henry Cavill under that World Machine scene.

I love how much both versions of Jor El (Donner/Snyder) speaks so highly of humans and their 'capacity for good'. The lines from Brando: "They wish to be a good people Kal-El, they wish to be, they only lack the light to show the way." encapsulates exactly how amazing the human potential can be, when fully realized, even in the darkest times. Add in Crowe's: "They will race behind you. They will stumble, they will fall, but in time, they will join you in the sun." and it shows the symbol of hope that Superman is for the world, including his fellow heroes in the Justice League.
I wished Snyder explored this more in detail.

- Lol, you obviously have absolutely no idea man. Josstice League cut 90% of Snyder's footage and stitched together a rushed, messy, simplified, streamlined and under 2 hour mess. That means out of 120 minutes, MAYBE 15-20 minutes was Snyder's. Zack also said his version is currently 214 minutes (3 and a half hours) long and may end up being about 4 hours with a little extra work between now and 2021 release. Snyder's cut is gonna be an entirely different movie. He has said as much himself.

The fact is that Zack's version amounts to at least 3 hours of unseen footage and at the very least, half of Josstice League will not be in Snyder's version. I would wager more than half but we'll see.
Edit: if you're talking about the reports that there is no additional shooting planned... Well I think you need to check your sources because sources closer to Snyder have said that is wrong. Personally I think all Zack might need is a little scene with Martian Manhunter and the rest is ready to go after a little more polish.
But again... We'll see in about a year eh?

I dont care about what all the haters say about this movie,the atmosphere was amazing,the feeling was beautiful. I loved the way Henry Cavill portrayed Superman, it's not about a hero's climb to glory,but rather about a man who dosent really find his place in the world,something that many of us can relate to,and that made him more human to me. The effects where amazing and it really did show another side to superman and just how powerfull he really is when its all out kryptonian vs kryptonian, i really enjoyed the way dc whent with this movie, Not saying the classic Superman movies are bad in any way,but Superman today the way they wrote him in this movie did it for me. Loved it and i think i have to go watch it again, Looking forward to Batman v Superman !

When you ignore the original character, an internationally beloved symbol of peace and equality and patience and freedom and turn him into some reckless wannabe brooding hero, you've made a shitty film ok.

MoS was good, i just saw a fair amount of flaws with it, that's all, like superman being thrown therough 3 buildings and not being able to slow down and avoid the next ones, also the dark tone, although it did work for the movie, unlike amazing spider-man
I will forever defend and fight to keep Henry as Superman, he's just the best! The role of Superman in these days was totally made for Henry. And that goes to Amy Adams as Lois. These two have an amazing chemistry, I would love to see them more!!
Wrong. There lack of chemistry was one of the weaker parts of the film. Plus Henry, while a good looking guy is so wooden and boring. Trust me, he wasn't born to play this role.

Loved this movie. They nailed it with the theme of feeling like you're all alone in the world. Then they ended the movie off with the message of acceptance. I think it was beautifully put together. This movie is one of my personal favorites this year.
