Your sewing skills and ability to fit your shape are simply amazing. But what I find the most inspiring is your ability to choose the PERFECT fabric/print for every pattern. That only comes with years of experience and an exceptional eye for design. Just gorgeous. Thanks for sharing this lovely year of makes. 💚💚💚
Thank you so much 😊. Pairing fabric to pattern comes easily sometimes and other times it takes ages. I’m not always at the same level of inspiration 😀. I really enjoy the process.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles And it must be said that your hacks/modifications often turned a ho-hum pattern into something stunning as well as flattering and practical. (had to add that after I finished watching ... length was fine, I had a huge ball of yarn to detangle haha) 💚
Very inspiring in many ways. Your round up gave some nice tips, indirectly 😀. I have limited time to sew. What I especially keyed in on, is that you use patterns that you’ve already fitted, several times, or you do a “mash-up”. So, your wardrobe still has variety and you can focus on making the garments rather than fitting all the time. I can make better use of the time I have by imitating this idea. Thank you!
I do the same for the reasons you mention and also because the creativity of thinking up new ways to use patterns really makes me happy. Thanks for watching 😊.
Karina, I remember all your beautiful makes!!!! Quite an accomplishment!!! You made your family members some very nice clothes as well. I enjoyed 2019 roundup. Take care & God bless.
Thanks so much for doing this. Now I can watch and re-watch for sewing inspiration and not have to try and remember which previous vlog I want for reference. I just found you this year and have learned so much--even as a 50 year sewer!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE what a FABULOUS watch I REALLY enjoyed seeing all your makes of the year. Thank you so much for a wonderful year of limitless sewing, very much looking forward to a limitless 2020 😘
WOW wow wow!! Amazing year for you. I love everything you made. Loved every minute of this video. I think the lyric dress is my favourite. Well done Karina! 🌺💗
Fantastic video. Clear and gentle. I love the way you explain what you did. I also enjoy the fact that you favor wovens to knits. Thank you so very much.
I would love to see a 2019 album on your blog just a simple one with one photo of each garment you made, the pattern you used, the fabric and if you hacked or altered it. Just single words underneath. It would be amazing to be able to look through every year of your makes like that and such an awesome reference.
I really enjoyed watching this amazing video. You are so talented sewing wise but I have realised that your fabric choice is also inspired. Many thanks.
Teresa Hanington thank you so much 😊. Sometimes the pairing of pattern to fabric comes fast and natural but other times it takes me ages and ages. I’m usually very happy with the fabric pairings.
Love seeing everything you’ve done together in one spot. It does, however, reinforce that I am slow, slow, slow, even when sewing a little bit every day. You just keep it up and I shall follow in the. Background like a tortoise
I’d never want anyone to feel slow, especially comparing to what I do. The difference is that this is my job. I do this dawn to dusk basically. The way I sew is not fast. I take multiple extra steps and precautions in all stages of my projects and am never ever rushing anything. I never take a break. So please I’d love you to feel great about your sewing. If my channel wasn’t my job, I’d probably make only 2-3 pieces a month only.
That’s quite a roundup! Impressive not just the amount of makes, but even more the amount of knowledge and creativity you shared in all those videos! Thank you!
In every vlog of yours I am learning something. And I even use them as my “how to...” book. You are a fountain of knowledge and your titles and title pics are really clever, so that finding a specific info is pretty easy. Thanks for your hard work.
Wow, so many garments! And I love how you have made them all your own. It is so nice to follow along with someone from the Southern Hemisphere too. We are in the same season (sort of). I am from Melbourne Australia so more Mediterranean rather than tropical climate. But no snow!!
Wow Karina very impressive, so many great makes. It was useful as a reminder of some great patterns out there. I get a strong sense of your confidence in your style as everything looked so great on you. I particularly like the Chalk and Notch patterns on you. Also your skills as a seamstress are very obvious here. Cant wait to see next years now!
Thank you so much 😊. I do actually know what works for me and what doesn’t... chiffon fixes it lol. Thank you so much for your support and friendship 🤗
Great roundup! I found your vlog in late summer and I've thoroughly enjoyed them all. You are definitely my go to for patterns and your expertise is amazing. Thank you so much.
Love this video. Your such an amazing seamstress. Thank you so much for all you do for us. Did I see a few pocket in there 😀😀😀 Looking forward to seeing all your makes in 2020. Xx
Yes. Pockets are ok as long as they are patch pockets or welts. I had one inseam pocket that I couldn’t get out of because it was a pattern test. I suffered the whole sewing of it lol.
What a sewing year you have had! I took a tea-break half-way as there was so much to take in. You have created a fantastic reference collection which I will watch again in the weeks to come. Thank you again for all the work you share with us.
Great vlog! I am so surprised that many sewers wear their makes that have ill fitting necklines and I lose confidence with them straight away. Your garments fit SO well and you are so informative that I have learned so much. Thank you and I hope 2020 is kind to you and your family.
Thank you so much 😊. I know many vloggers are at different stages of their sewing journey and have their vlogs to inspire others on their journey. Skills develop on the way. I do prioritize necklines and do a lot of hand basting (demonized unfairly) 😉, so necklines turn out nice. Thank you so much for watching and I’m glad my videos help.
Beautiful makes. Lovely Karina, You are so productive and so inspiring and so sweet. I like everything, but I loooove the jacket that you made with the canvas material for home decor - have to make one or two for myself.

Thank you! Wow! What a sewing year you had! Happy New Year! ( Something I noticed watching this line up of beautiful garments: I know you love prints! and I was impressed how well the solids complement your beautiful face! I am glad you added the solids this year.)
Solid solids... I plan to add them more and more because they are necessary and I have very few of everything in solids 😄. Thank you so much for your kind words.
I didn’t realize either until I was making the list to compile the footage 😱. It was a full one year and now I’ve noticed I missed a few garments. Thanks for watching 😊.
I have to say it’s my top three for the year along with the Lyric dress and the Atenas denim jacket. It was surprising to me I’d done so much too. Thanks for watching 😊.
Thank you so much 😊. The hacks are the best projects for me but surprisingly, those videos get the lowest views. It’s deep down what I love to do, so I continue 😀.
What a fantastic vlog! It's an incredible index of your work in 2019 and will make finding a particular vlog so much easier. Wow! Great work. Thank you so much for all you do! Happy sewing in 2020.
I’m working on a way to make finding them easier by organizing them on my website. It’ll be a lot of work and I hope it’ll be helpful. Thanks for watching 😃
This was brilliant. What a great idea to do a round-up of your sewing for the year. I'm not surprised that the big4/simplicity got more views; their price point is perfect for those who are new to sewing or just prefer them over the indie patterns. And as the big4 use the same block to create newer patterns - once you know what changes you usually make, it's easy to carry them over to their other patterns. This was really fun to watch. You start from simpler makes and move on to more statement pieces (and lovelier fabric choices!). I gravitate to the quirkier/statement pieces more even though my wardrobe needs more of the staples 😆. I should really get cracking on my rhapsody pattern!
I also see why the big 4 videos are viewed more. I wish they were accesible to me. The few I have have been sent to me by generous friends in the US. Mc Calls has pdf options for some of them but the price for these is almos $14 and they never go on sale. This makes these even more pricey than the indie patterns. I’ve had great results so far and love the diagrams in the instructions too. I know my channel would grow more if I highlighted big 4 patterns more often. Ah well, indie pdfs are the ones accesible to me. I also need the basic staples but they are no fun to sew right? Thanks for watching 😃.
@@LiftingPinsandNeedles Is it inaccessible to you because of the shipping fees? I use a freight-forwading service (ShopandShip) to get the patterns shipped to me.
It’s a combination of shipping fees and HUGE import fees. I live in Brazil and they’ll tax you the same amount the item is worth plus the same shipping you already paid. It’s really impossible to get things shipped from overseas due to the price. Indies end up being cheaper and especially during sales.

Hi Ola. Indie patterns usually cost $12-14 and I wait until I can get them on sale for $9-10. I live in Brazil. I don’t have access whatsoever to the big 4 patterns. They are not sold here. Shipping and taxes make getting them impossible for me. I do have some videos with big 4 patterns that have been sent to me by generous friends in the US. But, in essence I’m limited to pdf patterns that are accessible to me. Thanks for watching 😊.
Hi Francine. I live in hot tropical weather (Brazil) year round and the style you mention would not fit my lifestyle not would I find the right type of fabric. I can show a jacket with pockets and hood but not in puffer material. My son would like a lighter jacket this year. Thanks for watching.

An amazing amount of garments. You must be very proud.
You have a lot of style and fantastic taste in fabric. Gorgeous.

You're such an inspiration! I'm terrified of sewing with chiffon and slinky fabrics.
It’s about getting the hang of them and along some hand basting. The extra bit of work is worth it because they are so pretty.

Wovens rule in my books. The fitting is just so much more absolute and the garments last longer. I like knits but they’ll always come second.
