    Excellent job on the selective harvest and releasing large yellow perch, crappie, and bluegill. Thank you for that.

      Tough to find time now being a bowhunter. Still plan on having a video every Friday but it’s tough for me this time of the year.

    I have only found small perch on the pools i fish. I am ignorant about the largest that should be kept and what should be released to protect and better the resources. Would appreciate your and viewers opinions, thank you in advance. As always enjoy and learn from your videos. TIGHT LINES

      Everyone has there own preferences on this topic but for me 9-11” perch are great to keep. If I’m getting fish 12” or longer those are going back.

      Right now perch will be near weed edges, with a little flow, 5-7 fow is good. Eel grass is best and look for tiny snails attached to the grass. Weed edges near large weed flats are good because the large flats is where they’ll eventually spend the winter.

    Lance what was your water temp when you made this vid ? Thanks for making these vids !!

      I believe it was right around 60. The water is colder now but you should be able to get on perch up until ice.

    How did you know to cast into the middle of the Bayou?

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  Рік тому +1

      There were scattered clumps of weeds throughout the bay so I would cast around them trying to find fish. The water was clear so I was able to visually locate weed edges.

    Do you care to comment on how water levels will affect ice fishing this winter? Nice video!

    • @AnglerX
      @AnglerX  Рік тому +1

      Good question! I think that the low flows will allow ice thickness in current areas get thicker. Also there may be areas that typically would have current in the winter but may not this year. That may open up new opportunities while other shallow spots that held fish in years past may not have enough water to hold fish.
