I also find that the process is totally different when you can’t just hit a backspace and delete (I never even touch the backspace on mine if I leave out a letter or smth bc it hurts my ring finger too much lol); the writing has to happen in your head too, and I like the physicality of my actual motions forming the stamp of what I’m writing on the page. I feel located in the world around me, not in digital space. You can read what Baudrillard said on writing within a digital screen vs the physicality of a typewriter; he never switched to writing on a computer even in the 2000s when he was still alive. Think of it a bit like an ebook vs a cumbersome hardcover book-sure an ebook SOUNDS more convenient, but you can hardly blame someone if they prefer a heavy hardcover, can you? Feels more real, harder to forget it’s there, easy to flip through. I hate how digital interfaces have made reading and writing so damn LINEAR!!! I just want to flip to a random page in my hands!!!!!!! I want to hold what I’ve just written in my hands!!!! I want to feel it lingering there in my hands after I’m done!!!! I want to be alive and physically stamp my thoughts into the external world, direct route hand to world, no digital space middleman!!!!!!!
I have one of these in my garage. My dad got it when he was in college, I think, and I used it all through high school. My dad let me take it from his spare room after I was all grown up. I think it's time to bring it back into the house. 💜

The sounds are pretty quite compared to other typewriter I have seen. My mom's typewriter especially 😂. The old thing are still sitting in our storage room.

I have a 1965 hermes 3000 and a 1969 hermes rocket that I just repaired. I still type rough drafts or outlines on the 3000 so I have no distractions, but I use my iPad to bring it all together.
I have that it’s very old but it got broken and scraped just for some metal💀 I just wanted to have fun but no dad grinds the dam thing into pieces I just wanted to play with it for more minutes
Reminds me of my youth. I have to say, they look cool, but if you don't type PERFECTLY, corrections are a major pain in the behind. Writing assignments were a headache for that reason. Believe me, computers and easily correctible electronic files are so much better.
I kinda want this to write my book, granted I have its first draft completed but I feel like there needs some fixing and room for constructive criticism, and I feel like writing my fictional book with a Hermes 3000 would at least make me feel like a proper writer than what Brian griffin is
I found a Remington easy-riter in my store and apparently my great grandfather used to use it. Got it cleaned yesterday and I absolutely love using it.
