what a sad ending to the creators of this anime. what a great video paahtis, thank you for traveling into rural japan to show us this unique footage and commentary
@@PaahtisHey paahtis kiitos hienosta videosta! Olen ite tulossa Japaniin maaliskuussa yli kuukaudeksi ja mietin että missä mun kannattaisi vaihtaa eurot yeneihin jotta en menetä liikaa rahaa?
Thank you for the video. I really appreciate your efforts to share Japan with the rest of the world. It was very special, even though I don't know that anime, nor had I ever heard of this school, but I will look into it further. I also lived in Japan as a young man, which is another reason I appreciate your videos. In many ways, not much has changed. You said at the beginning of the video that your days in Japan are numbered... I remember feeling that way as well. It is bitter-sweet and allows you to really enjoy your time there, as you demonstated in this video. Perhaps in the future, you could share why you're thinking of leaving Japan, and what you think you might do in the future.
Thanks a lot. I tried to make the video so that it could be watched by people not familiar with the series so hopefully it worked out. I haven't yet fully decided to leave Japan but it's been on my mind and I guess saying it out loud will let me work through these thoughts a bit more. In any case, I probably don't see myself living here until the end of my life.
When I used to live in Shiga i would go past this school every day for 3 years, its very nostalgic to see the bumpy & expensive omhitetsudou again as well
I went to japan twice and on my second trip, managed to go around Akihabara and find the Future Gadget Lab from Steins;Gate. Every part of my logical brain knows it's just an area, of buildings, that can be rented and does mundane stuff. But hold onto that fanatical part, that know's the great Hyouin Kyouma is plotting his devious plans to keep evil at bay. Super super glad for you that you did the same and got to visit Hokagu Tea Time's HQ :) Magic is real, just gotta hold onto it in ya heart uwu)b
I remember 2019 fire such tragedy. Nice to see places like this honour them with their legacy K-On. This kind of videos feels like im there with you travelling, love it. Also Are you considering moving because you don’t know many people there in Japan?
Nothing is set in stone but I was talking with my family over the Christmas and my sister has young kids and simply I would like to be part of their lives when they are growing up. Don't have the money or anything to go back now, but it's been on my mind for a month now. Probably won't happen soon but I'm mentally preparing for when that day comes.
There's something similar with another Kyoani show, Hibike! Euphonium, and the town of Uji where it is set. The real school is not open for visitors since it's still active, but there are various pilgrimage sites throughout town, and also a visitors center with items from the show and a guest book. I was able to go there recently, and it was such a surreal experience to stand in real places I knew from the anime. Plus, since it's also the town of Kyoani's main studio, there's a memorial dedicated to the victims of the arson attack, which was very emotional for me to see. I'd been hoping to be able to also go to Toyosato for the K-On! pilgrimage, but unfortunately there wasn't enough time. Still hoping to do it one day though!
It was nice meeting you by chance while at Toyosato! It was such an experience visiting Toyosato ES and feeling the love and passion poured into K-On by both fans and the animators. I'll probably have a chance to revisit at some point as I have friends in nearby Otsu.
@@Paahtis I will add that I visited Omi Jingu which ended up an "accidental reverse pilgrimage setup by a friend Lol?" One of my friends in the area recommended I read Chihayafuru and I wasn't completely sold on it yet..... She did recommend I visit Omi Jingu for Hatsumode and it was a surreal experience to see my first sunrise there..... I didn't realize until talking with my students that I visited a pretty important place for Chihayafuru.... "M*** sensei, you went to Omi Jingu and haven't read Chihayafuru yet?" it was too cute so I bowed in, bought the manga and its pretty good so far (on vol. 2). TLDR 2 intended anime pilgrimages and 1 unintended one somehow.
Wow, did not expect Toyosato to be in here! I actually went twice (Jan 2022/Aug 2024) as I'm a huge K-ON! fan. I feel like I should come here every time I visit Japan.
Why is your future in Japan uncertain? Are you ready just to move on or are they going to deport you? 😂 3:01 That's horrible That Many talented people were killed, , 6:13 Relaxing and weird, Sounds like my kind of cafeteria 😂 So glad you enjoyed it,.
I used to live relatively close to Toyosato but never got to visit because the trains going that direction only came every 1 hour and I could never find the time to go. Semi-related side note: my friend's sister was the first international intern for KyoAni and, on their old website which I don't think exists anymore, they used to have a webpage dedicated to her goldfish that she left in their care when she left Japan. With that said, wonderful video for many reasons and always looking forward to seeing more.
The equivalent of the Mecca pilgrimage for K-On fans. Proud of ya man.
I don't think mecca is the right way of representing it!

I'm glad UA-cam recommended your last video to me because it's a comfy little channel!
Really enjoyed the cinematography. For the video itself, it was really good man, thanks for making it and sharing it.
So glad to hear, hopefully I can get a new camera at some point because I really think the quality of the video itself is really bad.

Wherever you live, please keep making videos. You have a fun style and great sense of humor that would be missed
Amazing, I new were you went as soon as I saw the thumbnail. K-ON really is amazing, one of the best things that came out of Japan.

I absolutely love your channel, man. And thank you so much for this video! It must be so great to see all those locations in real life.

Did you ever go inside?

Loved the comparisons, may the animators rest in peace
Your passion showed in this video!
Amazing video dude! K-On brought a lot of happiness into my life and I'm dreaming of making the pilgrimage too someday.

@Paahtis Ah i see understandable, thanks for sharing.

Pleasure was all mine. I'm jealous that you'll be able to visit again, hopefully you have other pilgrimages planned for the future too!

Such a cool place! :D
Fun to see a bit of real life stuff here too!
You do make good videos

Höhö, jäbä on joku animenörtti ja kattoo pikkutyttöpiirrettyjä terv. jäbä, joka kävi samasta syystä Ooarain pikkukaupungissa Ibarakissa
心配ないよ、君のビデオはすごいよ!
After 6 years in Japan, I'm finally in Japan.
After 6 years (2019-2025) of no memes. It's time to go home.
This place is awesome! Is it allowed to pick one of those guitars and play a bit in that room?
Hmm dunno, doubt it. But the piano you can play 😁
actually didn't know K-on was affected by this! That's so sad - who else got affected by this?
Pretty much every series kyoani was working with because so many important people in the company lost their lives.
@ Man. I can only imagine how sad it must be. I am happy you got to experience a good day though. ❤️
@Paahtis, that was awesome! Keep it up! I'm in Takanobaba. Where are you?
Suffering in Yokohama 😂
30 isn't old.
Depressing, but not old.
Visit the Higurashi town next, but wait until it's summer!

Ibaraki está cerca, pero lamentablemente no he ido aún, ¡aunque espero que pronto!
❤

Just been thinking how long will I stay in here recently for personal reasons. Nothing is decided yet though.
You should link up with ice poseidon and the cx crew could be content
I am very, very different kind of person than that crew.
@ i feel you, dont blame you ! Keep up the great content
Bruh K-On? That's one of the worst anime I've seen 😂😅 but school looks nice, not gonna lie
