Just a note for the photo op area, the main big line is for the No-face setting and can easily be over 30 minutes long. Most of the other lines were only about 5 minutes.
Also wanted to add that there is a way to enter if you are OK skipping No-Face, it's on the side of the red stair cases(if I remember correctly). And this is official :), we were informed of that by a staff member that saw us leaving after looking at the queue at the entrance.

I love this park so much! It snowed on our last trip there and although it was very cold, it was so beautiful to see the freshly fallen snow on all the attractions!
I told my Dad about the park before our trip to Japan, and even though the tickets sold out, he signed our family up for a tour just so I could go. We gotta love the commitment, LOL.

If you were serious about that bit at the end about "other interesting places in Japan we think you'd like to see", I beseech you to consider Meiji Mura Architecture Museum near Inuyama. It's an outdoor museum park showcasing examples of buildings from the Meiji Era, between 1868 and 1912, when Japan transitioned from an isolated Medieval state to a modern superpower. It also features exhibits on life in that period, including a recreated sake brewery, a kabuki theater, and vintage vehicles including electric trams and the oldest operating steam train in Japan, first imported from England in 1873. It may not be exactly your channel's usual thing, but in fairness Studio Ghibli drew a lot of inspiration for this place's exhibits, and they regularly have anime crossover events. Plus it might be worth looking at more interesting or unusual attractions even if they don't have a direct tie to anime.
Thank you for filming this! It was my number one dream to visit Japan one day and go to the ghibli museum. I just found out last year that I will probably never be able to go because I'm on medication that Japan will not let me enter with even with doctors saying I need this medication or I will quite literally die. Studio Ghibli movies are very special to me, and to be told this while I was planning a trip specifically around the Ghibli park really crushed me. I'm sad I can't see the inside of certain places but I can imagine how amazing they are! Maybe one day a miracle will happen and I can get on a different kind of medicine that Japan will allow me in the country with. Until then I will be forever grateful for the creators who release videos about places in Japan and the Ghibli park!

We went last October, and our winning decision was to completely skip the photo-op area right when you enter the Warehouse. Because we got there right when it opened, the rest of the Warehouse was almost completely devoid of visitors! I got so many awesome photos throughout the space with literally no people in the background, and no lines whatsoever to navigate. I had way more fun and got way more magical Ghibli moments this way, without ever waiting in a queue!
I remember hearing the first articles about this place in 2019 during its pre-production. Crazy how time flies. Also, the Earwig skip was unexpectedly hilarious lol

Yeah that is very understandable, they are very VERY strict when it comes to either the ghibli theme park or the museum of it. Personally I never gone there, but I understand their reasoning of their strict rule policies.
So a little bit of background for the entirety of Ghibli Park: This location used to be the site of the Aichi World Expo. (It was awesome) The Warehouse is actually using some of the old country's pavilions while the Dondoko Forrest was one of the original installments for the world expo site. Aichi Expo was enormous in size and the Osaka Expo starts in a couple months! Hope everyone going to Japan from April to early October get a chance to visit!

As Emirichu said earlier on in the video, there's a smaller Ghibli Museum in Mitaka, about 20min out of Shibuya via the Chuo West Line (Orange). Basically if you're staying in Japan for a week or two and have a packed itinerary, I recommend people to go to Mitaka for the museum and then to Aichi for the park on a second trip. Mitaka is also Japan's Hollywood for anime. The city is very unassuming but you'll easily walk past some of the largest anime/manga studios in the country.
If anyone sees this and has questions about Aichi Prefecture feel free to ask! I'm trying to make my home turf look better than what Abroad in Japan has said haha.

PRO TIP - Whisper of the Heart grandfather clock At the World Emporium, the grandfather clock works just like the one in the movie Whisper of the Heart. But you have to get there at the right time to see it. So be there on the hour and it'll go off shortly after that. Just be sure to wait for it. I've never seen anybody talk about this but I asked staff about it and that is what they told me. I had just missed it and didn't want to sit and wait for an hour so I missed it unfortunately. Also as of 2025 they are slightly changing the ticket process. They just are adding a couple new cheaper ticket options. But for first time visitors, you still want to purchase the premium Osanpo day pass.

I NEED that Heen plushie omg. Also I think you would have fun at Mizuki Shigeru Road in Sakaiminato! The Mizuki Shigeru museum is open again after it was closed for refurbishments last year! Has a lot of amazing Yokai and scene recreations from Gegege no Kitaro and others. I especially recommend checking it out at night as well, it's like halloween there.
I swear I am always blown away by how accurate these Japanese theme parks/attractions are! It makes me jealous honestly. Since my hometown doesn't have anything this elaborate! Or if they do, it only sticks around for a limited time, or changes as the years go by.

This is one aspect that some creators forget to mention. :D I agree on the no photos and videos part inside the buildings, because it's meant to be experienced. If you show it, they probably won't get as much visitors. cool cool. im going to save this for later. My first Ghibli movie was Spirited Away, But I absolutely adored Howls Moving Castle. It's the only movie I own, with any sort of merch I could afford.

Castle In The Sky and Ponyo were my first Ghibli movies I've ever watched and I loved them so much!! I also watched Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle; immediately loved it! It is my dream to go to Japan in general but going to Ghibli Park is on my bucket list too. It looks so magical, I genuinely started tearing up at seeing the attractions. These are my favorite movies and having them irl so to speak makes my heart so happy

PRO TIP - Whisper of the Heart grandfather clock
At the World Emporium, the grandfather clock works just like the one in the movie Whisper of the Heart. But you have to get there at the right time to see it. So be there on the hour and it'll go off shortly after that. Just be sure to wait for it. I've never seen anybody talk about this but I asked staff about it and that is what they told me. I had just missed it and didn't want to sit and wait for an hour so I missed it unfortunately.
Also as of 2025 they are slightly changing the ticket process. They just are adding a couple new cheaper ticket options. But for first time visitors, you still want to purchase the premium Osanpo day pass.
My favorite Ghibli movie is From Up on Poppy Hill. It was really cool to see the little peeks of those in this video. Thanks, Emily! 💗

I NEED that Heen plushie omg. Also I think you would have fun at Mizuki Shigeru Road in Sakaiminato! The Mizuki Shigeru museum is open again after it was closed for refurbishments last year! Has a lot of amazing Yokai and scene recreations from Gegege no Kitaro and others. I especially recommend checking it out at night as well, it's like halloween there.
I swear I am always blown away by how accurate these Japanese theme parks/attractions are!
It makes me jealous honestly. Since my hometown doesn't have anything this elaborate!
Or if they do, it only sticks around for a limited time, or changes as the years go by.

This is one aspect that some creators forget to mention. :D I agree on the no photos and videos part inside the buildings, because it's meant to be experienced. If you show it, they probably won't get as much visitors. cool cool. im going to save this for later.
My first Ghibli movie was Spirited Away, But I absolutely adored Howls Moving Castle. It's the only movie I own, with any sort of merch I could afford.
