Without a doubt if you put my 16 year old grandson in power over the police - the streets would be relatively clean of serious crime within 6 months. Put my 10 year old granddaughter in charge and police corruption would be a thing of the past within 4 months. My grandson in between these two would eradicate any misuse of police computers, body cameras etc probably within a year and the year is only because the computers would need in-depth analysis.
I'm 71 years old and policing in the UK has grossly deteriorated over the years. It's far more aggressive, far more confrontational, far less community based and communication skills have sunk to an all time low. it makes my blood boil that they HAVE TO GIVE THEIR ORDERS and have the last word. Many police have lost of have never had Integrity.... the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. Modern policing behaviour has practically banished integrity and communication skills with the public. I truly believe this !

Re: the flagthingymijig these loons wear. It's the wrong blue, Gromit! The Scottish flag is a white cross over a sky-blue background. Their blue is dark/ royal navy blue. Sooooo... their piece of bog roll cut-out to look like a flag contains NONE of the colours of the flag of union - not one!
Their code of ethics actual says they have to provide 3 forms of identification, usually surname, number and station. The only time they only have to provide just the number is if they are dealing with a known or suspected terrorist.
