Her improbable and inspiring journey, as both a victim and an advocate for gun legislation, is captured in a new documentary, "Gabby Giffords Won't Back Down." Correspondent Ben Tracy talks with Giffords and her husband, Senator Mark Kelly, and with filmmakers Betsy West and Julie Cohen, about her resilience, her musicality, and her optimism that our country's plague of gun violence can be addressed.

"No matter what." Gabby is smart, empathic and heartfelt. A hero.
What really amazes me is how Gabby continues to become more fluent as the years pass. It doesn't always go that way with rehab for brain injury. My sister had a stroke in 2012, and did her rehab at Hermann near Houston, where Gabby fought so hard. They are both amazingly tough people.
Mrs. Gifford's has been through alot. However she is inspiration. She fights for what she believes in. They are an awesome couple.

FOX News: One of the doctors at the press conference in Tucson stated that she was 'basically' shot from BACK to FRONT.

She’s brain injured and being abused by democrat Nazis to “try” and take God given rights to defend family and self. It’s a sin to abuse the brain injured and especially in that way considering she’s a victim of criminal gun violence that’s never going to end unless a good guy with a gun had been there to stop the shooting.

I remember the day she was shot. I was working at a news outlet in New York and every report we got from sources in Tucson said she wouldn't survive. She was likely to die. We even started writing her obituary. And here she still is. She survived. I'm still amazed.

We are so proud of Gabby and Mark here in the Old Pueblo! As a fellow Tucsonan, and family friend to Gabby’s right hand man Ron Barber (who also was terribly injured, almost lost his life that rotten morning in January) I will NEVER forget hearing about the shooting- and knowing Ron was probably there too…. I was sitting in a Kung Fu dojo with other horrified parents when news broke. The SiGong didn’t know what happened, and later he said that he felt the air change in the space, where we were all struggling not to start sobbing in front of the children’s class….
Gun violence is a horror with which Americans are far too familiar. It’s obvious that gun legislation desperately needs to be improved- Nobody wants a madman/woman loose in their community armed and dangerous! The time has come (many years ago) to fix the problem of gun violence!

How many rights are you people willing to give up? I can't believe the comments here. The left is pushing gun control, while sending billions of our tax dollars to other countries and arming them so they can protect their borders. In the mean time, ours are wide open and people coming in are not vetted. Many are part of the drug cartels, gang members, child traffickers, raping kids and women. Most are young men that claim to be fleeing from awful conditions in their homeland. So what, they left the women and children behind to suffer the hardship he ran from. Really? I think one of the most horrifying parts of having a brain injury like that is the way people talk to you afterward. The way doctors talk to you like a child, even your own loved ones. You are no longer referred to subconsciously as on the same level by them. She is probably aware of this at some level, repressed or not.
Either way, she has a strong will, I hope she continues to recover
Most of us cannot fathom the mindset it takes to methodically plan to end someone’s life- like the murderer who killed Shinzo Abe- or the nut 🥜 who almost ended ended Gabby’s. I wish these people would take as much time to seek help instead of plotting to hurt 😔 others. She still has retained her beautiful smile 😃 and unwavering optimism! So happy she has a great 👍 husband to support her!😍🙏

To say that I admire her is just putting it mildly. She is a powerhouse and she won't be stopped.
