- The Arizona Congresswoman is still recovering from an assassination attempt that killed six others in January 2011. She and her husband, retired astronaut Mark Kelly, talked to CBS News’ Lee Cowan about their life today, her recovery, and their future.
I've been a nurse for 40 years and there is NO WAY anyone could fake this level of disability. The negative comments speak to the soul sickness of the writers, I feel so bad for you, She is amazing, and I prefer to focus on that.

Sure, she has been used as a poster woman for partisan issues, which I am not commenting about whether I support that or not, but for Christ's sake she was shot in the brain! Gabby Gifford speaks not only for those affected by Gun Violence but for those who live daily with a brain injury. She's my hero - she's trying to speak and not allowing aphasia or other speech difficulties stop her. For almost 5 years I have lived with 4 injured areas - my speech is slow, I have a hard time getting my words out and this gives me - others as well.

Where is your critical thinking? What was the specific manufacturer of the bullet? There are many different types of hollow points and I doubt you have even tested one-tenth of them at the same distance of the shooting. Furthermore, I see no evidence that hollow points were even used. Apparently Walmart doesn't even sell hollowpoints.

I agree. I live 1 mile from where she and the others were shot, I remember the traffic jam that went on all day long around that intersection, I remember the news spreading in the neighborhood like wildfire even before it hit the news media. I know people who were shot or had family who were shot. I work in mental health, and everything about Gabby in this video is consistent with the kind of brain injury she has. She is a local hero. She always had a rather high voice. Half of her brain works completely normally, including the half that runs her emotions and personality. The nuts you refer to call people sheep and tell us to do research. It is ridiculous. What is their proof, and what credibility to they have? Conspiracy theorists are delusional, and their "proof" never holds water. Just like all delusions, the logic skips the track at some point, but the person with the delusion never comprehends that. The process of delusions is a bigger mystery than the effects of traumatic brain injury. It saddens me to see her and her husband so disrespected.

this is so heartbreaking to watch😢. I saw this on the news when I was 20, and didnt think she would make it through. but she gradually did. I didnt know much about her before this tragedy. However, she has been an inspiration to me since.

i was in first grade when she was shot in my town. I remember the terror and sadness and my dad telling me about what had happened. we learned about her and her husband in school and about what they did and have done. people who are saying shes faking have never been in that position of terror.

I think that she has come a long way since being injured. I think that she is a very strong and determined woman. I think that she can help other people with injuries or disabilities to realize how far they can go in life

I was getting my nails done for my high school formal in the same shopping complex when this happened. The scariest thing I’ve ever been through/seen. I love them so much.

I have ephasia too. I had septic shock which caused my brain to swell. And now, words don’t come as easily. I’m lucky that I also know ASL and so does my husband. It’s so frustrating. People try to tell me the word I’m looking for and all it does is make it worse, I know the concept just nor the exact word. It makes me want to scream.

Damn. I have hypertension I got it 6 years ago. It was really bad at first but over the years I barely feel it anymore. Right now I'm not sure I have it anymore but I'ev felt that way before and it's come back.
So this really gives me hope I don't have to worry about it anymore.
