Oh how wonderful for you. My dad died when he was just 42 n I was 21 as time has gone by I have forgotten what his voice sounded like, until 2012. I found some old cassettes dad used to tape direct from the radio/record player in the 70s, all his fav songs. listened to the them all. Picked up my daughter from hospital the she gave birth to her 2nd son. As we drove home dads voice was on that tape only about 15 seconds worth. I had not listened to this tape yet. I had to stop the car and cried my eyes out as I held my new born grandson I felt dad was right there beside me, my, daughter and grandson that day . Ive backed it up 3 times on newer formats and now my 4 grandsons have all heard it . Truly I cant help but think there is something afterwards some higher place . Record you parents or grandparents so you can let your grandchildren hear them see them long after they are gone . Its a real gift to hear loved ones voices long after they are gone .
Hey! Question for you! Have you ever accepted Jesus as your personal savior from your sins? Please let me explain real quick... We have all sinned. Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Our sins have a penalty. That penalty is hell. Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death..." Because of our sin, when we die, hell is our eternal destiny. But here is the good news, the verse does not stop there. It continues "...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 5:8 says "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." We have all sinned and we deserve to go to hell, but God sent His son, Jesus, to die for our sins and pay the penalty we owe. Jesus is the Messiah, the Christ! God sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to earth to die for our sins and pay the penalty for our sins! Jesus died for our sins, but He rose again from the dead and beat death! By accepting Jesus as your savior in faith, you can inherit eternal life in heaven! Repent of your sins and place your faith in Jesus Christ today! Place your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior! Call out to Jesus today and ask Him to forgive your sins and save your soul! Romans 10:13 - "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
I remember a film about go karts where the protagonist did the same but the speed record was his dad's and at some point near the final race he beated it (and cried because he realized he just lost the only "tangeable" memory of his dad)

That literally made me cry. I lost my father last year in September and it’s still hard and unbelievable that he’s not here. I’m an older man now but I still cry like a little child missing him. I guess some things won’t change. You’ve done at least 10 years without yours and I just made it to a year. I hope I can have the strength such as yourself to continue to endure. I appreciated that clip for it was much needed. Sometimes as son’s we feel the need to surpass our father’s in something because we feel like it’s our obligation to do so; but also it’s very important to remember and to pay respect to the one who set the bar in the first place. Thank you for not passing his ghost and honoring/showing respect to his work in his absence even if it is in a video game. I’m sure he’s very proud of you in general of all you do. Continue to take care and may we both continue to be good sons no matter our age.
Sometimes when I think of losing a family member it's hard not to be sad but when I think about losing one of my parents, it just makes me shed tears just of thinking about it and how hard it'll be to wake up without seeing ur mother or father's face, bless you brother
I want you to remember all the times you laughed, cried, feel loved, feel real happiness, hanging out with friends, learn to ride a bike for the first time, the first time you have ever been to a concert, the first time you played video games. These were great times. And there are lot more to come
That's a way of coping with grief. He couldn't bring himself to pay the console for many years. Then, in a moment of clarity, he did and found comfort in doing so.

This genuinely made me cry. My dad used to love his consoles and gadgets. The last game he played was Red Dead 2. I rode his character to a beautiful field in the game covered in flowers and I left him there.
When my grandma died all her saved files on her ds and phone stayed, still can't face to use them, when I went on the solitaire on the phone it was mid game, made me cry, when she died everything froze in time, her books were half read, games half finished, movies half watched, it's horrible but amazing.
I lost my dad 7-8 years ago he was a bad drunk but this is an amazing story everytime I here it..Its special in everyway to hear how well a dad can impact a young mans life...We as men need to remain strong and respectful so we can remain great Dads and create good memories and offspring..We can do it , its our job..
This literally brought tears to my eyes. When I hit 40, I started having these horrible chest pains that would wake me up out of sleep. I had several ER trips. I thought my time might be near, so I secretly started leaving all these messages to my family in Animal Crossing and also recording my Fortnite matches with family and posting them to UA-cam so my family could remember me and some of our memories and conversations. Little discoveries like this can be so heartwarming. Also, to anyone wondering, I'm better now. 👍
Literally this is literally the “racing a legacy” race from speed racer. The opening race from the movie where it’s Rex vs Speed at the “thunder head” race track. Where speed is racing an imaginary ghost of Rex’s car doing the fastest recorded lap on the track. Speed wins the race against the real drivers but he lets the ghost win to preserve Rex’s legacy
I lost my mom when I was six. It's never easy but we find ways to go on. I'm glad to see you have found your strength even without him. I'm sure he'd be proud of you, keep fighting. Peace brother
I'm 47 and lost both my parents back in 2014. You never stop missing them but over time you learn to live with the sorrow and go back to functioning. Most games keep the time on the leaderboard even since the early 90s but I'm pretty sure a lot of new games would allow you to save ghost data as a file
It's kind of insane because iirc fucking Mario Kart Wii let you save Ghost Data from the internet and keep it forever and race against it whenever you like

Amazing! I lost my brother 20+ years ago, he was 28. We were bandmates, so everytime I play music, I feel like he's with me and it's a world only him and I share till today.
Same thing happened to me with my best friend that passed from cancer.
I still drive with him once and a while. Rip brian.
i feel you you brother...
Rip Brian.. but u a real one. World needs bros like u
rest in peace
Sorry man...
i feel you bro, my homie died too...
Man that's wholesome. Racing against the exact line your dad made would be something
The music, and the story, is enough to literally make me cry. Fly high, dad. Glad your son is still playing with you.
Hey! Question for you! Have you ever accepted Jesus as your personal savior from your sins? Please let me explain real quick... We have all sinned. Romans 3:23 says "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"
Our sins have a penalty. That penalty is hell.
Romans 6:23 says "For the wages of sin is death..." Because of our sin, when we die, hell is our eternal destiny. But here is the good news, the verse does not stop there. It continues "...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 5:8 says "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."
We have all sinned and we deserve to go to hell, but God sent His son, Jesus, to die for our sins and pay the penalty we owe.

That was heart breaking and wholesome to hear he was playing against his dad's car in the game. I lost my dad in 2000 we were close. I would do anything to have more time with him again! Happy this guy can have a special moment like that. It made me tear up for him I know how he feels about losing his dad😪
Same here. I lost my dad in 2009 unexpectedly. Would do anything to have more time.
My brother, keep your dad in your heart.

I want you to remember all the times you laughed, cried, feel loved, feel real happiness, hanging out with friends, learn to ride a bike for the first time, the first time you have ever been to a concert, the first time you played video games. These were great times. And there are lot more to come
Making me cry right before I'm meeting people??
That's a way of coping with grief. He couldn't bring himself to pay the console for many years. Then, in a moment of clarity, he did and found comfort in doing so.
That's beautiful. I really wish I could feel the same way about my dad. This is a very private treasure so keep it safe.
