The flat is now owned by Sir Rodney Walker who amongst many interests is the Vice Chairman of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, hence the statue which is a replica of the Terracotta Army sculptures, although he raised a few eyebrows when he painted gold, Savile’s favourite colour. He also owned the flat underneath which he sold to Liz Dawn from Coronation Street. I live in Scarborough and still remember seeing Jimmy Savile on that balcony in a white robe looking like the Pope waving at people.

    Thanks for posting this.
Savile bought the flat in the 60's, not the 70's.
He originally rented a flat on the ground floor before buying the flat (number 9) that he kept for the rest of his life.
I know a lot of people think it was weird that he preserved his mother's bedroom and her belongings - I didn't think there was anything wrong with that.
It was everything else he did that was seriously creepy.
Savile is buried in Woodlands Cemetery a couple of miles from Wessex Court.

Yeah, you can picture him now taking curlers out that weird, putting on pink ribbons before slipping into one of his mother's dresses, then reclining in a rocking chair at the window..watching the kiddies going by .he was a monster!.

@@AsifAli-od1cf It's got nothing to do with 'mental gymnastics'.
Savile was reported to have said that the one problem with committing the perfect crime is that you can never be recognised for it.
You can link that with the way he would often drop hints about what he was really up to.
The satisfaction he probably would have got from witnessing the scandal shows that the only person he cared about was himself.
