I did have to wake up at 5am in my hotel at the city center in Osaka, then take the train to Universal from 6am - 6:30am. The queues can stretch as long as to the exit of the park.
@@adoboramen Thank you - I did! I got back yesterday after a very long 15 hour flight. But I did get to see Greenland, as we flew that way. Amazing scenes from the plane! Thank you again for your help - my trip was better because of you :)
After visiting both Nintendo Worlds in Japan and Hollywood, I feel that both parks are better in their own ways. In Japan, there is a lot more different activities to do, with more variety of different foods that are way better than Hollywood's Kinopio Cafe (Except for the Burgers, Hollywood does them better), they also have their own unique headbands which japan's headbands are better, while hollywood's shirts and hats are better. And rides like Mario Kart, compared to Hollywood, takes less time to line up for than in Hollywood. If you are lucky, you can get in to Japan's Nintendo World as early as 7:30am in the morning. However, unlike Hollywood, there are some days where you MUST book a Timed Entry Ticket (Virtual Line) in order to get to the park, and sometimes you must go to a specialized kiosk to book them. Meeting mascots (except Kinopio) is much stricter, due to the fact that unlike Hollywood, you are not allowed to have your phone to take pictures with mascots, you must stand in a specific position when you meet mascots, you must pose how the mascot poses for pictures, and you must pay 6000 yen for pictures. While in Hollywood, it's just you interacting with the mascot, the staff are allowed to use your phone for picture taking, and you are allowed to greet the mascots with how you like to greet them (plushies). When I met Princess Peach in Japan, the line takes longer compared to Hollywood (30 minutes in Japan). And she would just interact with the staff member every time and only interact with me based on what the staff tells her to do for the first 30 seconds of the meet and greet to fill in that time. When I even tried to greet her with my plushies, she just ignores them. When I met Princess Peach in Hollywood the line is way shorter (2-15 minutes), and she is even willing to get to know more of my different plushies, and with Kinopiko being her favourite, she would always be happy to hold her and hug her for the picture-taking. The meet and greet is straight to the point and no nonsense.
Thank you so much for sharing your experiences at both parks. It's helpful for someone like me who has never been to the Nintendo World in Hollywood. It's crazy to me that they charge 6,000 yen for pictures. I have yet to meet Princess Peach but now I know not to ask for a photo. lol. Thank you again.
@amen yeah no problem, if you want to meet her one time just to get that meet peach stamp, like just get it over with and get it done, go for it. Just be sure to prepare to take a lot of orders on standing, posing, and if you're someone that likes to wear a mask (ergo me), be prepared to explain to staff members on why you want to wear your mask for the meet and greet and picture taking. I've met Peach a couple of times in Japan and the few times I met her, staff members and even Peach herself will demand me to take off my mask during the picture taking. I obviously had to ask politely for their permission to let me keep my mask on, and I even had to explain why I had to. It was embarrassing. Hollywood's Peach and staff members on the other hand don't even care if you want to wear a mask during the picture taking. They just accept it like it's no big deal. And another thing in Hollywood that is way better is that you are more easily remembered in Hollywood than in Japan. I would always meet Peach with a Toadette plushie in Hollywood, and Peach would always give Toadette a handshake and also wants to get to know other plushies that I bring to see her as well, unlike Japan, where even when I tried to greet Peach with Toadette, she would for one, just ignore her, or just face at the staff member that patrols the meet and greets. Side note: However, Hollywood also does have regular ride malfunctions too, where the Mario Kart ride there would malfunction between 11am-1pm, and I would recommend that if you can, spend this time to do other things, such as meeting mascots, or playing other mini-games around the park.
You provided such great info! Thank you so much. Our ride also malfunctioned. It was at night around 8-9. I would love to go back to USJ but I want to be more prepared next time like staying closer to the park and avoid getting distracted by attractions that don't really excite us. I also want to experience dining at Super Mario World. I would avoid the burger, thanks to your advice. :)
@@adoboramen damn, I'm really sorry to hear Japan's ride malfunctioning too. Yeah it is a pain to wake up at 5am and leave my Hotel at 6am to head to Japan's Universal for me. If I were to return to Japan's Universal I would spend more of my time playing more of the Mario Kart ride and minigames, checking out the merchandise, and meet other mascots in Japan, because as far as I am aware, Mario, Luigi and Peach meet and greets are this strict because they are like very popular amongst everyone, so they make people pay for the pictures with the mascots and don't let anyone film their meet and greet because if they did, they wouldn't get any income at all.
Hi friend! 😻. Well that was a feast for the eyes! I would love to go to the Harry Potter park and Universal Studios. Don't laugh, but I've actually never played Super Mario.
