I just use 2 ideas, range of music and minimal half hole usage. But anyway to play western on bansuri? 3 octaves any way. Is it useful to buy sharp flutes like c# etc... Between good useful video.

Range of notes is a mandatory consideration. I personally find half holing with certain fingers easier than certain others. So, instead of minimizing half holing, I prefer to place them where they are easier. But of course, everyone has their own preferences.
      I paraphrase your question as:
Do # flutes render themselves for easier fingering because songs may be on natural scale.
That depends on the scale(raagam), fingering you have chosen and the pitch of the flute. My approach is to pick the most appropriate fingering first and then select the flute that would give me the fingering I choose and puts me at concert scale. I have developed a small tool for this selection. I will present that in a future video.

Such songs are likely to be in D, D#, E range.
