I am doing my math thesis on distributive lattices and I just got inspired by this....half and quarter speed and filling up the space in a manner such that space is even every time. This helped me so much in a concept called "homomorphisms". Thank you Zakir sir.

Priceless advice🙏. Slowing down the pace of a kayda and then placing the syllables before OR after the standard position brings so much new life and beauty to the rendition. There are countless possibilities here and a sincere student can design his/her own patterns and improvise even on the first kayda that is taught in tabla. We need gurus who can expose sincere students to such priceless doors to improvisation.

The knowledge from such maestros shouldn't go waste and should be passed on to new generation like old Indian knowledge was just passed verbally from generation to generation Guru to Shishya. And not written in the manuscript. Very good initiative by Vrindaban.

For whole of the tabla players community, Ustadji playing tabla is just as important as Sun consuming it's hydrogen reserves to generate energy.
Pt. Suresh Talwalkar always says that the Guru must impart energy to students to practice more and more.
Ustadji has given that energy, that ray of hope to all the tabla players, that yes, its possible, stay on course. So, without being the teacher for many thousands of tabla players, he is "the teacher" for all of us.
Can there be any better connection than this ? Can it be more divine than this ?

    • @radhagopinathji1989

There is nothing more divine than the relationship between guru and shishya ...that's why this sloka explains the chronology...mata pita guru daivam ...the mom first shows you the world and also your father then the father and mother help you find your guru and ultimately your gati is daivam that is God . Pure bliss
