I'm not sure anyone ever feels good enough. thats kinda the point tho maybe? if you felt good enough then you would stop learning or it would mean you havent learned anymore. so yea maybe the bigger failure would be feeling like you are good enough. or maybe im just rambling anyways good luck with youtube 😊
Thanks for your comment, Matti! I think you're 100% correct. I just wonder if there's a more positive way to reframe it in our minds. Maybe instead of "I'm not good enough" We should frame it as "Look at how much more I can learn". You've been a huge inspiration to me, and I appreciate you taking the time to comment on my video, man. Hope everything's going swell for you!
For those who create full time, its important to do personal projects too. Use the same skills, but apply them to different subjects that interest you. It helps the creative flow, helps you build new skills, helps you build new connections, and frees the creative mind. Just my view and hope it helps a little. I always feel the same - constantly comparing myself too. My content sucks so far, but that means it can only get better :-)
Yeah, thanks for this. It is really like going to the gym, indeed. I love this quote that Chris Williamson once referenced - "the magic you're looking for is in the work you're avoiding". It sounds a bit harsh, but it is true. No farmer works without sowing the seeds.
Love this! I started filmmaking in Oct of 2018. I was 28. 2 months ago, I did a shoot for Sony for a non-profit in North Carolina and a few others since. I still get depressed. I still get unmotivated sometimes. What really matters, is the process is the goal. If you are just concerned with getting to a place, and you aren't happy taking the steps to get there, you won't be happy when you make it there. Thats what I have learned anyways. We are always chasing the next project, but we need to enjoy the current project we are on. Have fun and never forget why you fell in love with this in the first place. Thank you for reading.
@TannerSimpsonMedia no problem my man!!! I think we are too exposed to others highlights too often, and don't see how someone's real life actually is. Keep creating brutha!!
dude! I just started my photography business in January and have had decent success so far, but my god, the struggle is real and just shooting cinematic style vlogs in June, and I feel this so much tbh gotta keep going!
My biggest struggle is making the ordinary look beautiful as you said. My mind is sometimes so uncreative once I’m in the setting. I love filmmaking but i get mega bored of most normal cities and suburb settings. I suffer from “it looks way better in my head” syndrome.
The Lord knows I’ve been stuck in a creative rut like I haven’t before and to hear this encouragement from a brother in the faith who ACTUALLY gets it is a divine reminder to me. Praise God Almighty and may He be with you in all things 💪🏼🙏🏼
even though I found this vid through the recommendations tab I feel that this sentiment is intensified by the algorithms of the platforms and all this ai garbage - i miss nieche communities and the HUMAN feeling that the internet had thx for expressing urself
I was instantly hooked with your Nikon z6iii Flicker Videos. If you would Start making Nikon Videography Videos you would be in a Place for your own. Noone Fokuses on nikon, how to make Videos with nikon etc. Would Love to have you fill that gap
@@TannerSimpsonMedia Settings for filming in different Situations like low light, different codecs and resolutions etc. Would be clutch content! Looking forward to your next video! Much Love
The only question left is are you doing all that for someone to tell you that’s good or bad, or are you doing it because it makes you happy! Do it for your self, learn, develop and the results will come! Keep you head up!
Hey bro, this video looks really great btw, so just know that you are doing it. Also if you don't mind sharing, what was the wireless autofocus device called?

Brother thank you! I was feeling the exact same way right now! I'm gonna take my gear out of the closet and set up a few scenes at home. 😊
Did you just make a video of the inside of my head? You are not alone in this. Earned my sub.
I did. The next one is in your house 😳. Haha thanks for watching, man. I appreciate it. And keep creating!
@@TannerSimpsonMedia that video would be called “for creators that don’t organize their gear rooms” 🤣

God Bless You man. Thank you for this. Really, thank you. I’ve been being swamped in comparison and this really helped me.
Happy to help, man. Comparison is the thief of joy!
