- Solo Trip to Montego Bay Jamaica was fantastic. I am reviewing the Riu resorts in Montego Bay. I stayed at Riu Palace, which was supposed to give you access to the other resorts (sort of). This is my review. I also did a walk-thru review of the Junior Suite Ocean Room I stayed in. Enjoy!
BTW - stay at Riu Montego Bay- not the Palace.

Thank you for taking the time to review and share your experience at this resort. Very Good information. It's greatly appreciated. 👍🏾
Great Video, thank you so much!!
I totally understand you saying just stopping and taking it all in❤
I stayed at Riu MoBay before the upgrade and the rooms were so dated and worn. The Palace was actually the update back in 2018 when I went. I didn’t even know the sister properties were next door because there was so much to do on-site. Your experience sounds a lot like my experience at the Riu in Cancun. I would give the MoBay Riu another try because the customer service was mostly good and I like the property itself. Looking forward to seeing what you got into in Jamaica.
Thank you! 🧡
Riu has 6 hotels in Jamaica. 3 in Mobay, 2 in Negril and 1 in ochi Rios and they are building a 7th hotel in Falmouth Trelawny. These hotels are very popular and are occupied year round You do have some hotels that are newer than others, so if it is critical for someone to stay in a more updated and modern Riu Hotel, you will need to do your research before booking. The same can be said for Hyatt, Sandals, Hilton etc. Tourist that visit the Riu Hotels hardly stay in their rooms because of so many activity on and off the property.
I appreciate your video. I'm going next year.
Planning on solo as well and can't waot
Maybe my definition and yours are different because if I’ve seen a few resorts in Jamaica that have wooden furniture, very colorful walls, and printed bed sheets … if you know that look to me THAT is dated.
Hi! Thank you for sharing! Do you know if Riu Montego Bay only has buffet style meals or do they have sit down restaurants?
Do you have an idea what the natural goods products prices are? Can you smoke it on the property ? Also can I go on any beach?
Riu Montego is the place to be….it’s happening there
If your at the palace can you eat at the other restaurant?
You need to go to. HEDO In the grill Jamaica.
How long did it take you to walk from Rui Montego to the Rui Reggae?
Dated - Dated - Dated - ???? the riu reggae is only 6 years old - and it's lovely
How did they know you were stayin at palace and not mobay when they turned you away for bfast?
this is splendid uploading!see you on my sid-edear~:))
Personally (and emphasis on "personally"- just before some person feels compelled to come for me), I think you are being a tad bit dramatic. I can almost sense some vendetta against the hotel. You failed to mention anything good about the hotel- notwithstanding the fact that the hotel has a near-perfect Google review (4.5/5). You only dwelled on the fact that the hotel is not as modern/updated as you'd like it to be. That's a lopsided, biased "review"! I don't see anything wrong with the hotel (based on what you showed in the video). It could be- like you've said in your intro- that it's because it's in video form. In any event, RIU hotels (and just an FYI, you pronounced the name incorrectly- not that that's important) are old- most of them are 15-25 years old. Besides, these are 5-star, all-inclusive hotels. They are supposed to be on the pricier side- unlike most of the resorts in the US, for example, that are NOT all-inclusive/5-star hotels (and I've been to MANY hotels in the US and around the world). With all-inclusive hotels, you mostly don't pay for anything, and most of them usually have 24-hour room service. Hence, it's going to be pricier than, say, a 3- or-4-star "resort" in Vegas (one that will charge you an arm and a leg for add-ons).
I believe it’s pronounced (Reeee -You)
