Late 2024 here and just dusted off my le lead. Its a beast. Ditching the modelers for this. The sound and feel is amazing. Modelers lack the feel. Sick of it. Back to analog for me.
Yeah man, I feel you. Digital has its place and it works well when it's done at a grand scale but for most venues, portable analog still works the best. The Le Lead is a little monster that for some reason, people missed out on. To this day, I can crank it a it'll sound like a Mesa Rectifier that's incredible when boosted, alongside my KSR PA50.
Before you even said it, I knew you were going to be using the KSR PA50. I just got one myself and had the chance to use it last night in a live show with my Kemper. SICK!!!
I think it's big to accommodate the 12AX7 tube, plus it has a lot of extras. DI out, built-in Cab Sim, effects send/ return and it's definitely built like a tank which is very similar to how other high end preamp pedals are, like the Victory Kraken, which is also a large pedal or the Diezel Hebert. :)
Hey Matt! You can use it both ways, actually. If I use my FR speakers, I'll run guitar into an overdrive pedal, then into the LeLead which then runs out to my Two Notes CabM IR loader using a Mesa 412 w/ V30 patch which runs out to my Headrush FR speaker or run into my mixer and out to both Headrush FR112 speakers. If I'm going to run it as a regular portable amp and use real cabinets, it goes guitar > overdrive pedal > LeLead > Mesa 2:90 poweramp (or KSR PA50) and out to one or two of my Mesa 412 cabinets. This is such a versatile pedal that I don't know why it isn't as popular as it should be. The owner even said it's designed after a Mesa Rectifier, and trust that it hits the mark. I have two Mesa Rectos, the dual and the triple and this pedal is on point. Of course, you'll need some extra gear but you can use this through the front on an amp on its clean channel as well. Use an overdrive bc that's when the rich tightness flourishes!
This product sounds awesome, I don’t really know that much about preamps, I’m a newbie, my question is - what’s the benefit of a power amp when you can go DI with the cab sim to the front house? Is it needed or what the difference in tone will be if you don’t have a power amp? Thanks in advance!
You would run the poweramp section into your cabinet on stage so those in the front can hear your real tone that represents you. I think DI out to FOH is an interpretation of one's sound. :)
You can run it through the front of your clean channel and basically add two extra channels with the Two Notes Le Lead or go through the effects loop and bypass the amp's preamp section and just use the Two Notes. This thing roars! It's crazy, you'll love it!
That pedal has been around for ten years and this is the very first time I've ever heard of it. For $380+ and seemingly not popular, I'll have to pass. For that amount, I would easily refer the KSR Ceres pedal instead. In ten years, there aren't many videos with it either. Sounds like the metal market wasn't too interested in it.

I'm glad you got one! Thing is a beast! Not sure why more guys don't use it. It's such a great pedal! Cheers from New York!! :)

I'm glad you got the PA50, Dan! Isn't it a beast! I'm glad you like it! It really is a great poweramp and easy to bring around!
91? That guitar looks like you just bought it brand new. Lol it was well taken care of. Man, that pedal is huge and sound great crunchy and heavy. 🤘😀

It's like a mini amp. Yeah, I see it has cool features.
Very cool man, how does it power the cab? I thought it was intended for a FRFR? Pretty sick wall of amps bro

Hey Pedro! Thanks brother! It's all part of my therapy! :)
Love this pedal. Are you going into the front of your amp or into the effects loop return? Thanks Louis!
Ohhh sorry, re-watched... the KSR is doing the power amp stuff. Cool!

Sounded pretty good. I use the captorx all the time
Sick AF bro! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Isn't that thing great! I made one video and shelved it but used it for a long while with a boost and never made another episode until this one.:)
Nissssssssssssssssssce 🍻
Daaaaaaanggggg
It's really good when boosted and going through a tube poweramp. I need to run it with my SD Powerstage 200, to hear the solid state tone next. :)
