Great video, thank you for taking the time. This is the only one of its kind. Going with the Univivi 12 for my IR security on the property. Distance and disbursement were the two things I was looking for. thank you!
i need something like that, the IR lights embedded in my cams are attracting bugs, which attract spider ,which build webs on the camera lens to catch the bugs, so i need separated IR lights.
Neat. These work better than I was expecting and they're not too expensive. I wonder if setting up several of these would help even out the light levels and reduce the blown-out whites.
Hey nice explaining video. does it work when you place a camera inside behind a glass window and you hang the ir spotlight outside? I dont want people to see that i have a camera hanging. the ir light they can see.
I would think that the IR lights in the camera would reflect off of the glass. Maybe if you put the camera right next to the glass. Test it and see what happens.
Hello, I installed a PoE raspberry PI camera and the IR that came with the camera isn't powerful enough to see at night. The camera supports the 850nm wave length so I'm planning to buy an IR illuminator, however, my illuminator will have to be on a different end of the house. In your experience would this still work to light and area?
That may actually work, but you would just have to get the angle right. It is definitely the same as having a floodlight on, but only the camera can see it.
The closer it is to an object, the more it will reflect. If you are in between, there are lights out there that are "less bright" for that purpose. The reason these lights work for me is that there is a great distance between the IR flood light and the mass that is reflecting the IR light.
I'm looking into these light sources but I need one that is ready to work in a 12 volt automotive environment from inside of a cam.. basically to fowl driver facing cameras day and night. any ideas?
ua-cam.com/video/Rnh8oOGCWlE/v-deo.html - Tested in a 12V environment. Check it out. (Not sure that the daytime would work unless you were able to discontinue the photo cell switch.)
These lights are 850nm. The red light can be seen at the light fixture, but not the beam of light. I believe there are lights available that the fixture is less visible, but I am not sure if they are available to the general public. I would expect it is something the military would utilize.
@@om_unique true. I get this question occasionally - about the visibility of the fixture emitting the LED. The truth is, it doesn't really matter that much if they see it in the grand scheme of things. Joe Public frequently poses straw-man arguments regarding cameras, I have my theories on that too. But if you are trying to keep people off your property, set up motion sensors rated for outdoor use (Optex) and tie them in to trip floodlights and/or noisemakers of some sort. Or better yet, a dog. I install cameras daily for a living..reeeeeaaaall expensive ones, and I'll tell you noise, floods, dogs, signage, motions, and finally good cameras (rest assured, if its available through retail..its already outdated) should be your focus (pun intended) instead of being myopic on the visibility.

Great video, thank you for taking the time. I am buying the smallest one, it was awesome to find a review so well done.
It's amazing how much it improves visibility at night. Thank you.
just ordered the u8r. thanks for the detailed review!

Very possible. Watch out for overloading the transformers. I made a video about it ua-cam.com/video/chOUHxojFPU/v-deo.html
Thanks for taking the time to make this video! Very helpful.
You're welcome
thanks for making the video, never even heard of the univivi, think i need to go check that out
thanks for sharing Project Bolony
Great video , tanks.....But what is the best one ?
wow, very useful video, thank you for making this video.
Cool. Thank you for the demo 👍
You're welcome
Hi... can you info.. each light beam angle ? Appreciated
Very useful video.
Great work keep it up 😉
Something stronger? I buy from aliexpress 12 led diode ir reflector, but my Dahua cam has stronger leds :D
Thank you for doing a review
I just bough an IR Illuminator but doesn't says what kind of power supply it takes . Can some one tell me about ? please.
Look on the back of the unit and there should be some info there. Then search for it on the internet. Should say something like VOLTAGE: DC12V/3000ma
what is the infrared wavelength of these floodlight?
850nm
@@ProjectBolony thanks

@@ProjectBolony then its even whorse... I think i have to open up the camera and disconnect the ir leds.

Yes it should, just don't want to point the light at the camera.
Was hoping this would blind my spying neighbors blink camera aimed at my entryway

My only concern would be if the illuminator is so bright that it would actually "white out" the face

Is there any IR light which is invisible from naked eye at night. So that no one can find it out.

@@ProjectBolony there are 950nm LED which are less visible than 850nm but there beam range also less in comparison to 850nm.

Will these IR effect motion lights that have motion detection on?
I don't believe this will affect the motion as that is a different sensor.
