As far as Equestria at War goes, let me humbly offer you a few simple suggestions from a long time player of the mod. You really can't go wrong picking any country on the map that has a unique focus tree, which would be most of them! The obvious choices are Equestria, Stalliongrad, The Changelings, The Griffonian Empire, and Wingbardy. Though really, there are a good 50+ compelling nations to choose from. If you do pick Equestria, I would recommend the Civil War route, which is less of a focus tree thing and mostly just involves ignoring your sister and then always acting as fascist as possible during any pop-up events. It's a wild ride with plenty of content from start to finish.
Anyway, whatever you choose to do, it will be a good time! Merry Christmas, and looking forward to all your content in the New Year!

I feel bad for you having to be in the cold, but I’m in the same exact situation when I am out in my gaming room. It only has a small space heater. I only have a blanket, full heavy coat, and that space heater. So I am almost always cold. I have to wear gloves when playing on my desktop.
if you're being forced to play Equestria at war, I suggest playing hawkland as it's less torturous, seeing as your leader is literally a giga chad pirate griffon who is a former Admiral of the griffonian Navy, in Empire that crumbled during a civil war sometime ago

When you do the "integrate war economies" focus, Hungary and Romania both have to be in a faction with you. Otherwise they won't be puppeted. If you had chosen "align romania" and waited they wouldve joined axis and then you could have picked the integrate focus.
