Great video and very informative - I was amazed how reasonable the insurance cost is. Can you give an indication of what the regular service costs will be. From other You Tube channels I note there have been a few initial build and mechanical gremlins - hopefully GM gets on top of them quickly. Have you experienced any issues so far?
Thanks for watching. I just crossed 500 miles. No issues so far but will share any as they come up. I have noticed on cold days, the front bumper hardens up and the body line with the fender looks a little off. I am gonna go easy with the car till 1k miles cause, like you said, some people have had valve spring issues under 1k so I will be a little more cautious. I will share service costs as soon as I get my first service.

Great looking C8!!! I took delivery of my C8 convertible (2021) 2 months ago and have been blown away with the quality GM has put in these cars. I went with the 3lt in torch red with the red accents to make it look different. I ended up ordering the red/black two tone interior in leather and have been very satisfied with the look. When I contacted my insurance company when my car came in, I was also blown away with the cost. Full coverage for $743 per year!! I hope the loss ratio on the corvette c8 stays low so the insurance cost does not skyrocket. Have fun with your car!

Have a bunch of videos now on mods I've done but the insurance has been really shocking. Sounds like you blow my rate out of the water lol. Apart from the seat wear, the C8 so far has been incredible.
Great video, personally I went the opposite direction, convertible 1LT non Z51. Love it, don’t miss any of the 2LT features. I thought I would need to add aftermarket heated seats as I live in cold Canada, but the design lets the cold air pass over and out the rear window, my Princess wife was happy with the roof down in 50f weather. You can’t go wrong either way, it’s an awesome car!!

You really don’t need the 2LT or the Z51, Base 1LT is perfect, save does options for the Z06 model

base in canada is70k LT2 is another 10k =80k off the bat plus we have 13% tax on top. went with 1LT z51 mag ride GT3 seats

That's a lot of money for a car. If it's your car it's a walk in the park. I'm loving my 2021 HTC. It's worth every penny. My insurance thru the corvette museum insurance is $964/year (with max 6000 miles per year}. I live in New Jersey and it's sitting in my garage until the weather gets warmer.
Its the highest car payment I have had but its worth it cause the car doesn't lose value, especially now. Congrats on the 2021 HTC. Got some other C8 videos on the channel worth the watch. Thanks for the info on the corvette museum insurance. I will have to look into it. Seems like a good money saver if they service my state.

I have 6 speed bumps in my neighborhood, and I have the front lift package, honestly you don’t need it. Secondly, the GT2 seats are uncomfortable after about 50 mins of driving. Other than that great car. I bought the 3LT, only to realize 2LT is where you need to be.

I like the build except I prefer the wing to be same color as body. I think on the red it breaks down the car and makes it look smaller.

Its because the car is brand new. So they dont need to charge u high price for insurance because the car wont break or show problems not until 3-5yrs

Great video! Which dealership did you get it from for MSRP? Here in Southern California everything is above MSRP by 10-20k+.
I got this one from Macmulkin Chevy in NH. I got my 22 c8.r at msrp from a smaller local dealer. Don't pay over msrp on the west coast. Order from the East coast and have it shipped out.

But most of this not recommended is just a myth to sell more tires. Our temps are in the 20's winter to 120 degrees summer.
I know guys are so worried about the ride with summer tires before they even get their car, mine rides just fine winter thru summer.

I honestly don't know. My newer videos are doing better showing off red but I think the sun and my GoPro8 turn it into orange.

Alex on autos said if you were six foot or over the g-2 seats the headrest hits you in your shoulder blade area so he gave the comfort level 9.8 do you find the same problem if you are over 6ft?
I am 2 inches shy of 6 feet and I haven't experienced that. The GT1 seats are one solid back and the GT2 have that gap for carbon fiber The headrest sticks out just a little further then the seat back with the GT2s but barely. Its pretty level. He may have meant the shoulder bolsters hit the shoulder blade. The GT1 has the same shoulder bolsters as the GT2 tho so I would think that would happen in all 3 seat options.
I'm 6'3" and recently sat in a coupe with the g2 seats. I had plenty of room and they were the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in.

Question: should I get a 1lt vert or a 2lt coupe? Trying to stay under 68k before taxes.
That is a tough one. I think it comes down to where you live and how much you plan to open top it. I personally live in a colder climate so would go with the 2LT instead of a 1LT convertible. You can still get the open top experience with the coupe and the tech of the 2LT. If you are in a warmer area and plan to open top it a lot and specifically open top and need storage then convertible is the way to go. The coupe with open top takes up the rear storage area so important to keep that in mind. Convertible gives you open top with complete rear storage. Hope that helps. My cap was also 70k but ended up checking a few more boxes haha. Thanks for watching.
I have a 1LT HTC, absolutely the best decision. The 3/4 view is amazing! I live in Canada so I thought I needed to add aftermarket heated seats to enjoy the colder days, nope, my wife and I were very comfortable top down with the windows up in 50f weather. BTW pull a 2.8 in 34f weather.... no Z51. I have a race car for the track. Also, the 1LT HTC had the rear view mirror camera included, that was unexpected and not documented. Also, if you order the adrenaline red seats, you get red stitching for free, 495 option on the 3LT..... as you can tell. I have no regrets!!
No, I was concerned before I got it as I skipped the front end lift, but no issues at all…speed bumps no problem either, I added the Z51 front splitter, and I’m even thinking of lowering the car. BTW the roads here are TERRIBLE. Best of luck

Compare the standard options between a 1LT and 2LT, hands down the 2LT is the best way to go, well worth the extra cost. You might consider increasing the amount before taxes. Several options that would serve you best you can not get on a 1LT.

I saw my first Zeus Bronze in person actually this week and absolutely stunning color. It's in my top 2 favorite colors now. You are right about the interior carbon fiber package. I was about 10k over my budget on this spec so held off on the Carbon fiber interior but looking back at it, should have done it. Where did you get 2.5% rate as I have a C8 coming in Feb ?
I was able to get it through a local credit union. Larger banks were at 3%. It will vary by credit of course, but local credit unions tend to have the best rates from my experience. The rate shot up if I went over a 65 month term but anything 60 months and below was the same rate. Hope that helps. Thank you for watching.

@@joelmahle3874 Unfortunately it is not. It is based on being employed in certain counties in MA. They are called DCU. If you open an account and meet certain conditions, they even went as low as 2% but I didn't want more accounts.

I believe it is standard on 1LT. For 2020, apple carplay and android auto are not wireless tho. Its only wireless for 2021 and up. Thanks for watching.

Down payment shouldn’t be more than 2-3k anything more than that isn’t worth it leaving the money in the bank and paying that extra monthly is always the better route and a big reason if the car gets totaled you just lost most your money cause most insurance will pay that gap
I like to keep my payment in a certain range and right now the ACV on C8s is strong where insurance is paying out over MSRP for totaled C8s. With the C8 market where it is, got lucky with getting mine at MSRP and am sitting on a profit lol
I put down $30K when buying for 60 months at 3.8% interest, total out the door $100K, I had to finance at the dealer to get MSRP.
I did a refi about one month later at 1.74%, I put another $25K down towards the loan for 48 months $900 monthly payment.
If you compare the interest charges over the life of the loan, I think you might change your ideas on down payments, if you have the funds available.
I'm saving close to $8K total in interest alone doing what I did, there are charts online so you can easily compare everything.
Where was your credit score when you signed?

Hey. I used progressive when I made this video but I hop company to company almost every year. At least 1 company each year comes out and beats the current one lol. I am actually $180 lower per year by switching to Travelers this year.

Sorry, but most of the 2lt items seem pretty gimmicky. Heated seats are nice but not 7000$ nice - you could get the convertible for the same price. The two tone interiors are much nicer though, but they still charge extra for it.
Black mirrors look nice 👍 but the colored ones also look good :p
I see what you mean. I think it holds its value really well as 2LT is the desired trim on the used market. Its basically the tech package with cross traffic, blindspot, the premium sound system, wireless charging, navigation, and PDR. 3LT is overkill but I also love the rearview camera in 2LT. I think thats a must. If I had to do it again, I would do 2LT HTC instead of the Z51 package since they now allow mag ride without Z51. I agree that its not $7000 nice tho lol. Thanks for watching!
There's much more than heated seats with the 2LT, side mirrors safety features warnings when someone is coming up along the side, cameras front and rear including being able to record your driving, track on a SD card, there's more options you can only get on a 2-3LT that you can NOT get on a 1LT.
You need to compare the standard options between a 1LT and 2-3LT, well worth the small increase when spending this much in the first place.
