Keep doing what your doing as the more folk that know the better....as not only do the council need shaming but also do the local MP's who do very little to sort it out... keep going... Yoki...
I've said before that what has astonished me is the sheer speed with which the place has fallen apart. You and your compatriots have prompted me to get back in touch with old friends who still live in the city, primarily to see how they are coping with Stoke becoming such a drug drenched ruin of a town :(
We lived on Stone Road back in the late 60's/early 70's. A short walk to Trentham gardens. It was quiet. Now that road is grid locked on a regular basis and constantly full of traffic! I still have family there and they don't like to see the deprivation. Unfortunately the dilapidation is endemic throughout this once beautiful country of ours. Society no longer cares about where they live, just how they can earn millions becoming an "influencer" on tiktok or selling drugs on the streets. Generations are growing up in households that have never worked, nor care to, whilst they get a constant payout from the government. The issue just gets worse with each scroaty family that breeds. We also have the influx of migrants that come from countries where they also don't care about how their property looks, then have the audacity to complain about it, and stupid government bodies give them more handouts to make them go away. It's no good demolishing these areas and building shiny new properties. It'll go the same way. Put it this way, you put Aldi shopping in a Harrods bag, it's still Aldi shopping. Same with new social housing.
It's heart breaking to see the towns and cities once famous for pottery, steel, ship building, textiles etc now have large parts of them abandoned and run down. Whilst some have recovered somewhat and are now vibrant they don't feel the same. The city centres may have had a new look but it's the communities that bound families together seem to suffered.
Have you notice that all historical buildings are going under demolition and mosques or religious buildings are popping up. Like our history is being wiped out 😢
Born in 1975 raised in Chell, Lived In Goldenhill, Fegg Hayes, Wolstanton as a teen. My mother still lives in Stoke and I own a property in Burslem which I hope to take back later this year to repair. I only left Stoke 3 years ago and I just cant believe how fast its deteriating. Such a shame.
You hit the nail on the head in the first few minutes. People have busy lives and don't see it all as they wizz past in their cars. I retired two years ago and now walk around the area most days. It is truly upsetting to witness the massive decline in the area.
I will often tell folks just take a few minutes and look up at buildings instead of the pavement and the reality really hits you she stop and pause and reflect

At 9:10 it’s a good job that you didn’t enter that place as we have explored it today and it’s got homeless people that were quite hostile towards us at first and Inside there is littered with needles, multiple push bikes, wheels, hot tub pumps and loads of other stuff and also junk everywhere. I’m yet to edit the video to show all this.

Trust me I know this city like the back of my hands and there is no nice areas their used to be but every part of this city is falling into disrepair and looking like a slum.
@@DJMtv1938 What would be the radius of slumdom before you got to any decent areas would you say? I come from Shoreditch, South Hackney, it's awful in it's own way but nothing like up there; I heard that one of my old friends from Islington moved to stoke and I can't for the life of me figure out why? We are both Council tenants so maybe she got moved? Some London Council's have been moving people out against their will but I didn't think Islington did that, I am baffled.
@JC-ee6pc I can honestly say you would have to go over the boarder into Newcastle-under-Lyme before you got to anywhere slightly decent the area I just shown on the video is probably less than a mile from the boarder but you can tell the moment you are over that you are in a better area but I’m afraid parts of Newcastle is now becoming very run down but nowhere near as bad as stoke. The whole of stoke is a depressing hell hole depravity is all over.
@@DJMtv1938 That leaves me even more baffled why she would move; she has made a mistake I reckon, unless the Council forced her out. Lambeth used to be notorious for doing that with a weeks notice in moving people.
