    For the Al Gore Rythym!
    New Zealand's two main islands are so different, as beautiful as each other, just in very different ways.
    North is great beaches, stunning farmland, rolling green hills and incredible ocean and coastal views.
    South is pure Grandeur of majestic mountains, lakes and also the above. Well done again, Beer O'Clock!

      Yeah since we come from a mountainous area in Canada we are really impressed with the beaches up here so far! Appreciate the comment, Paul, beer O’Clock indeed!! 🍻🍻

    Just a tip - sea water can rust a vehicles undercarriage so taking your car for a clean will lessen damage

    Really enjoying your videos and your production values Donovan. But seriously! Why are you wasting your time in the North when you could be visiting the real New Zealand down here in the South Island. Better beer too 🙂

    • @donovankelly12
      @donovankelly12  Рік тому +1

      Hey thanks! Haha our thought process is that we are likely going to stay on the South Island and find a place to live permanently(till our work visa runs out) so try and see as much of the country as possible! Not gonna lie, definitely looking forward to the beer, although some of the fresh hops beers up here lately have been fantastic. We are on our way down, will be there in a few days! Cheers 🍻

    Your te reo Māori pronunciation is great. I rode my mountain bike the full distance of the Ninety Mile Beach there and back again this last summer; all 176km. It's a long beach to ride. They used to herd cattle up the beach and it took them three days. By road three days herding equated to ninety miles - hence the name. But on the beach, they didn't take into account the high tides slowing down the cattle to around 20 miles a day making the beach only 60 odd miles. BTW. The Māori name for the beach is Te One Roa a Tohe - the long beach of Tohe; Tohe being a local Māori chief of the area.

      Thank you, Eddie! I've definitely been mispronouncing a lot of words so far so I am making a concerned effort to get the language right.
      That's really cool, I can't imagine biking that! Thanks for letting me know my friend, cheers! 🍻

    The Coromandel Peninsula is a great place to visit from Auckland.
    Lots of camping, beaches, bush walks, etc. very chill.
    It used to be a -2 hour drive from Auckland, but now that the Thames road has washed away from the flood- it takes about 3 hours now.
    Go through Paeroa and Waihi to get to Pauanui, Whangamata and Whitianga- I stay at my parents beach house. I love it there. (I saw a UFO there once, too. And I'm a skeptical of all that)
    I can recommend a great hotel to stay at in Pauanui, my dad works there part-time now that he's retired. Lots of international guests staying there, very relaxed- not overly flash/fancy, just the right amount. VERY welcoming.
    Biggest tourist trap is Rotorua (quite nice) Also, please ignore our theme park Rainbow's End, it's embarrassingly humble compared to other country's.

    • @donovankelly12
      @donovankelly12  Рік тому +1

      Yes absolutely, Coromandel Peninsula was really great! We camped beside Coromandel for 2 nights and spent a night in Whitianga after exploring Hahei. Will need to go back to fully see Cathedral Cove!
      Haha okay will do, we spent a few rainy nights at Rotorua, I could see that. Just got to the South Island so I will likely have a North Island video coming soon!

      I live between Kaitaia and Doubtless Bay, and I do work in Pukenui from time to time. I always make a point to stop at the 4 Square for a long af sausage roll, and a pie from the vendor just on the north end of Pukenui
