I'm enjoying your trip, thanks! 🤣 I especially enjoyed your experience on the beach. I've always loved our beaches and you make me appreciate them even more 😁💚☮
Thank you for the support! We're glad you like the videos! OMG, 90 mile beach was amazing...I wish we had spent an entire day there it was so beautiful and so much fun!
This is one part of the country that I have not visited by road but however have flown over it at 10,000 feet on our way to Norfolk Island and then a number of years later, I passed close by in a yacht enrolee from Nelson to Whangarei. It is nice to be able to explore it with you in your videos and maybe one day I will make it up there by road and check it out more thoroughly. I understand your driving issues as I found myself in much the same position driving from Reno to Denver a few years ago and having to concentrate to ensure I stayed on the right side of the road.
Thanks so much for the comment! It is an amazing area and definitely worth the visit if you get the chance! Reno to Denver is a long drive! It does take a lot of concentration at first but by the end of our trip it was starting to feel more natural.
spectacular views...well shot....that rugged looking coastline looks amazing, like how it should look untouched by men and there commercialised buildings and skyscrapers....nice
If I remember right it was our car's GPS and we had to use Google maps to get out of there...but I know what you mean, Google has led us astray before lol!
Hi! Well, we planned our entire trip over several years, mostly just googled must see sites in NZ but also watched other youtuber videos over NZ. Yes, a visa is required and we just went to www.immigration.govt.nz/new-zealand-visas that will take you through the process. I believe it was around 35 nzd per person.
if you drove around the corner along the stream bed for 2 more minutes, (easily navigable on your car) you could have climbed that dune and slid down those same mountainous dunes and you wouldn't have needed to have walked so far !!!! lol :)
Flip Flops?? I think you meant Jandals lol, when I first arrived in NZ as an 11 year old (I now live in England) the kids at school soon told me they were Jandals, when I asked why they called them that it was they said because the looked like the Sandals Jesus wore, Jesus sandals (Jandals) and remember it might say a 45 minute hike but for every step in one direction you have to go the same distance back.
I have to correct this sorry, where it looks like 2 seas colliding is actually river water mixing with sea water as there's an outlet right under the cape. 2 seas yes, separate waters no. PS I was there during our last solar eclipse was stunning.
Bro u don’t know what u are talking about as u look seaward from the lighthouse u have the Tasman sea on your left and the pacific on the right you have the line in the water which heads north from the lighthouse
@@carlthomas7101 Yes I do, it’s as easy as using Google. Come on bro why would 2 oceans be different colours?? Oceans and seas Henry different names because of their region, not because they’re made of different water 🙄
@@AbbieandWiebe lol i feel ya mate kiwis love their seafood its good to try things there is food everywhere here even if you have to spit it out just go for it next time just walk up to sum locals ask them questions they will probably even feed you's😂👍🏾
You guys aren't doing too badly with pronouncing the Maori place names, we have the best scenery in the far north of New Zealand. You guys look like kiwis in this video with your t-shirts, leggings and jandals. Be careful swimming at our beaches though as alot of them have surf waves that'll knock anyone over and rips that will pull you out.
HAHA well thank you! We really mean no disrespect with our mispronouncing...I can't even pronounce places in Oklahoma! Don't worry, the water is WAY too cold for either of us to even try to swim in it haha!
Haha! Oh, man. I'm sorry! Music is so hard to find! I re-listened and I could see why you would say that. Hopefully you wont feel that way about all our videos! Thanks for the comment!

Miss this place so much.
Growing up there is where all our seafood come from.
@@anaherararu8191 Oh lucky you! We miss it too lol! I could really use some more fish and chips from Mangonui! 😍
Going to do a similar trip tomorrow thanks for your video helped us plan
Awesome! You all will have so much fun! ❤️

Thank you! And, I agree! I have been dreaming about this day! I can't wait to go back! So beautiful!
These videos make me so homesick. The beaches on the west coast of Auckland have black sand and it gets so hot in summer you can’t walk on it.
Oh no, we're sorry! Oh we missed the black sand beaches...I guess we need to go back!
Love both your experience and reaction of our beautiful country Chur
Thank you so much! We had the time of our lives and are looking forward to returning someday! ❤️
Pronounced Cape Re-anga. Great video & drone shots ftw 😁👍🏼
Thank you so much! It was such a fun day! I'm ready to go back!!
Google maps in northland is definitely inaccurate, we were trying to find kaiiwi lake and also ended up with a private property sign

Hi! Can you please tell me the process it took to get to cape reinga..what sites did you use to plan the trip etc and is a visa required ?

Oh man we should have done that! Sliding down looked like a ton of fun, just looked too far to walk haha! 🤣
Nice vlogging
Thank you!
Where is your potai ( hat) only takes 10min to burn in the sun, sunscreen is a must too.
Yes, we learned the hard way! We used sunscreen but a hat would have been good to have!
90 mile beach is actually only 57 miles (89 kms), but still nothing to sneeze at.
Name is deceiving lol! But wow, that is a big beach. It was so beautiful! We wish we had more time while we were there! ❤
goood couple
Thank you so much! ❤
You looks like our bollywood actress preety zinta😊😊
That is so kind and quite the compliment! 😊

Jandals? haha!
Japanese sandals = Jandals
@@carlsmith653 oh haha! Never heard of that term until now.
They are jandals not flip flops!🤣
Okies from Oklahoma call them flip flops lol!
In New Zealand they are called jandals - a portmanteau of Japanese sandals...

@@AbbieandWiebe You’re welcome
Bro u don’t know what u are talking about as u look seaward from the lighthouse u have the Tasman sea on your left and the pacific on the right you have the line in the water which heads north from the lighthouse
One sea is saltier than the other and the waters don’t mix hence the line in the water

Those are pipis, they are delish :)
Interesting, we never would have thought you could eat those. Then again we both grew up in the Oklahoma and completely land locked :)
