This scene totally should have been kept in. To me it never made any sense whatsoever why Sam and Richie would be the ones to involve Dewey. Sam didn’t even live in Woodsboro so how would she know where Dewey lived? Judy was the new sheriff and totally should have been the one to track Dewey down and get him involved. He lived it and she knew that like we see here. They really needed more interaction and scenes together for character development especially after how close they were in Scream 4. Judy was so underutilized herself.

Not really when adrenaline is a factor. Not to mention Amber being psychotic. What is unbelievable about Amber being able to overpower Judy is that as a cop, Judy was trained to overpower people.
