Drop those friends
I would be devastated if my friends did that to me. This basically means they think she's so unattractive they had to resort to doctoring a picture to set her up. Terrible.
She needs new friends.
Oh it just hit me. They let her see him but him not see her, and they photoshopped her picture. At first I thought they weren’t being malicious and they may not have been, but why not let him see her real pictures?
I think because they thought he only goes for really pretty girls, but they were just sure he’d be so happy with their average looking friend if they got a chance to spend one evening together. They were wrong, but part of that may have been that he viewed her (because she thought she had to use filters) as a liar with no self confidence-yuck. He did not know the friends had tricked him.

Her friends are mean. They knowingly deceived him and hurt her in the process. I felt so bad for her but hopefully she won’t let this mess with her self esteem.,
They wouldn’t be my friends anymore because, if they think that I look that bad, that they have to filter my picture, I’m done with them.

Don’t let them use that picture again
These do not sound like real friends. Real friends know better than set mutual up bc when things don't work out if effects the group. When it's natural and friends don't intervene that's one thing but in this situation the friends fucked her over. And the fucked her over intentionally and the fact they were so quick to try and set up another blind date also concerns me bc maybe they r using her to lift themselves up. Seen it done multiple times.
That is very unfair of the friends.
