Thanks for doing these 40k:RT videos! The whole series has been excellent and this one in particular is helping me plan my canon dogmatic playthrough (I've been playing Against the Storm while waiting on patches). I also like how you've gone through multiple builds for Argenta, MC officers etc. The Adeptus Sororitas is my favorite 40k faction and I want to play Argenta as a more lore-accurate bolter/flamer/melee dps so I was happy to see you put up that build for her. Ever since Pathfinder:WoTR you've been my go-to for guides. I'm looking forward to whatever further content you have planned for this game :)
Thank you so much for the kind words and the Super Thanks! Argenta Burst/Flamer build was really fun, next build will be full Flamer/Melta for MC/Mercenary 😁
Yrliets sniper build from crpgBro works as a perfectly good alternative to Argenta. Carried me through the entire game (after you aquire her, before that it was Argenta as a laser sniper) with three officers. Pasqual was mostly in the party but really didn't do much, because he almost never got his turn. Too bad she refused to wear mon-key boots. :p
I find those teams build around officers really boring for a full playtrough, lack diversity in the team, fun for as much broken it is I got really bored
@@arkuspendragon They sure come down to repeating always the same set of actions. All in all, I found Rogue Trader a bit underwhelming in comparison to Wrath of the Righteous, but I'm also no great fan of the 40K setting.
Hey man, I just wanted to thank you for your guide and build videos. I don't think I could have finished Pathfinther WOTR without your videos. Anyway, your videos are very useful and make my life a lot easier. I wish you all the best in your personal life. Cheers man!
Purely skillwise, this is how I went : MC Officer/Master Tactician : Coercion + Commerce Abelard : Athletics + Carouse Argenta : Awareness + Demolition Cassia : Lore(Warp) + Persuasion Pasqal : Logic + Tech Use (+ last pick as Specialist in Medicae) Jae : Lore(Imp) + Lore(Xenos) By the late game (early Act 4), almost everyone has Basic&Advanced talents in those skills. Having only 2 skills per character allows you to be quite good at every skill, even in the early game. I don't savescum skill checks (nor combats : the only time I had a party wipe was when I replayed the final fight of Act 1 because I wanted to test something, played loosely, and had Argenta downed in one hit on the Boss 1st turn), yet most of my rolls are in the 80-100% range (with 100% being very common). No one specializes in Medicae, but Pasqal + items does just fine when required. The other NPCs are all decent in Lore(xenos), so when I need one with me, I dump Jae and take the NPC. RT equips the googles that make Lore(Imp) depend on FEL, that way all skill checks are still decent. Only "weakness" in the team is Cassia's Lore(Warp), nonetheless she succeeds at most of those checks. One final note : With Idira as a master of Awareness, that team also covers all the needs for the ship posts, for what it's worth. Hope you enjoyed :)
I've found Bounty Hunter Idira is incredibly strong using your build for her along with an officer psyker MC. All the extra turms she gets from claiming bounties allows her to throw out buffs with the item that reduces AP cost by -1 on first turn, and quickly start to trigger psychic phenomenon to boost her psy rating and start doing insane damage with psychic scream. I think it will also be my primary dps late game when going heretical (and very thematic too).
I would point out for main character you HAVE to have that specific staff. There are other staffs and even some later in the game that have higher base stat bonuses or default power level for Emp Wrath, ONLY that staff has an uncapped modifier to add your resolve stat. I think your analysis here is spot on and exactly what I did in my second run, however i used a merc as the buffer maincharacter and used a solider pyro as the burster. Since pyro gets melt armor and scaling crit damage buffs, it was for stubber build.
This has been a pretty neat series! Honestly, I'm fine with just playing on daring or hard, and this unfair-ready build trivializes the game (to an extent), still a fun series, and an excellent guideline for figurin' out what's good and what isn't. If I ever do an Unfair run, I'll use these builds for sure!
For me this is EXACTLY my party for unfair walkthrough (turn one EACH battle before the enemy movement, even the Lord of Change and Void Dragon) but I add Idira as 6 by your guide. The synergy with 2 bounty hunters (Argenta + Idira) is so brutal, Idira could have like 20 psy rating BEFORE the first enemy turn to act. The buffing and debuffing potential is excellent, and nukes are devastating. And 3 officers is godly combination of extra turns.
I'm a big Idira fan and use Idira (Assassin) as the main damage dealer/buffer and along with Cassia they pretty much win every encounter (I endearingly refer to that duo as Powerbuff Girls), to the point where the other main party members (AM Argenta and Abelard, Pasqal BH later respec to Grand Strat, and Operative psyker RT who doesn't work as well as I expected) are largely irrelevant cuz Idira killed everything before they need to do anything. Idira pretty much solo the Uralon/Edge of Daybreak fight when all my party got destroyed by the Chaos Marines in turn 1 except her) and carry pretty much from Act 1 to Act 5. I even forgot to grab the Warp Conductor Glove in my 2nd playthrough and she still destroy the Hellbrute and his jacked Chaos Marines buddies in the middle of Act 2. I think Idira is among the best party members (she's extremely versatile due to being a psyker and can be buffer, debuffer and nuker all in 1 package) and I don't really care about her warp shenanigans cuz it rarely occurs and most of the time Idira win games for me without any hassle. Accepting the risks and play into her strength as an unsanctioned psyker is the key to unlock Idira's massive potential cuz I feel like people avoid her entirely or dismiss her because of that 5% chance of warp shenanigan.
@@hotuannam5346 Have you seen buged Pascal plasma rifle that adds INTx2 (not int bonus BUT int stat itself) to damage? Late game he has like +320 damage from his intelligence to EVERY AoE shoot alone. It's just... broken. Will repeat the game in a year, when DLC and mods will arrive, was great fun thou.
@@hotuannam5346 I guess it's bugged, it should have BONUS INT (10 times lover) to damage, not the flat number of your INTx2 into damage. I don't remember a single weapon or item that adds flat bonus to attribute into something.
Currently running Soldier Sniper MC. Burst Argents, Cass, Abelgard, Pasqal and Jae. I'm following the Jae build you have but dang, she currently lies on like 8-12% burst hit rate in act 3, so she is mostly there to give extra turns to Argenta and my MC, haha. The Aegenta burst damage is hilarious, and Abelgard is a nutter tank wide. Cass is Cass and Pasqal mostly carried act one but is now there to buff/debuff.
Abe's Brace for Impact free movement for all party members is so good when you have 0AP actions to use (with -1 ap on first turn items and stuffs) I han fun with Abe+Henry combo, Henry throwing out 0ap psychic buffs in free turn Abe handed out. Oh, it also counts for Cassia's willpower for each extra turn talent
This game got it soooo close. There were some rough patches that should have been ironed out in playtesting. The starting levels were too slow and clunky. Chapter 3 started very poorly but ended strong. The level where you get lost in the woods is loading screen torture. I love this game but hate it also.
Cordelia is also pretty good not as busted as Argentina but still easily wipes the floor with enemies on unfair difficulty. ALtho I guess its late in the game you get her.
Cassia, what a beautiful specimen. She regenerates, she's inhumanly fast, she's hardier then a hardened warrior twice her mass and has enough mental willpower to bend the universe.... the perfect being?
Nah, Abelard is just fine to be at 500+ wounds too, but does not have 3rd eye.... To be true, anyone in a party could have 400+ wounds without investing any talent about the wounds. It's a power of broken items. And game has plenty of them.
Just started playing and been using your guide, i swapped out argenta for yrilet cause argenta was annoying to me and too good lol. Running your noble/officer as main char, your jae/yrlit/abel/cassia/pasq as the party.
Great video as always bro! Is it possible to do some more main char/mercanary builds? I'd love to see a melee assassin from the ground up for instance? Maybe a melee big two-handed swinging class? Thanks for all you do!
A big update is coming out soon, in December. I would really like to see a fresh video about the perfect party, in which classes are not repeated and preferably MC is NOT a PSYKER) There are too many builds of them. It would be absolutely fine if the team was as dogmatic as possible, without xenos or suspicious personalities on the verge of heresy - like Idira. Such a detachment could well be managed by a canonical commissar officer.
I've followed these builds. What it came to in reality was Cassia gives a turn to Yrliet/Argenta, Officer Psyker MC gives turn to Yrliet/Argenta, Cassia turn and mostly its over now. Officer ability to Yrliet/Aegenta and its very likely so over right now. Pasqual is around for tech checks. Abelard us there for athletics checks. You only need Yrliet or Argenta. It doesn't really matter who the sixth is. The melee are gimps because everything is dead before they can do anything. On another playthrough I would rather my RT be the Yrliet or Argenta because they're actually putting in work. Mathematically it might be better to be an kind officer but your main guy is a cheerleader and he doesn't get to pull off his staff attacks all that often. Agent/assassin seems like the better route for being the guy but your skill checks are going to suck.
if you guys want to play with yrliet or marazhai and have them be on par with your other human companions, you can remove their item restriction using toybox. This can be done by removing the aldaeri/drukari feat. Seems like the devs didn't pay much attention to the items of the last 3 recruitable characters.
Honestly at certain point all characters can deal absurd damage. I had Ulfar using combo-wombo (4 stacks of Versatility, Revel in Slaughter, Rapid Fire and built for such) basically taking down 50% of Lord of Change's HP's in one burst xD
A thought, "best party members for each alignment" would be a nice video since you can loose party members later in the game due to which path you choose. :)
Daring breach, then finest hour the guy you daring breached with and youve effectively removed half the map in as little as a turn depending on momentum gains (and in still in act 2, so i dont even have the broken combos set up)
Idira can be extremely powerful indeed as early as you get her special gloves in Act 2. But one must be wary of the Perils of the Warp effects! At least there's some gear to auto revive her if she blows herself up which is by far the worst effect of them all.
@@cRPGBroJust put Finest Hour with can't die upgrade on her and she's safe and clears the map during the first round it lasts anyway. She's really strong in act 1 as well, if you don't mind reloading after occasional (quite rare tbh) critical warp oopsies, she can guaranteed hit & kill enemies at sniper ranges with Second Sight while the rest of your party still struggles with reliably hitting things, but pays for it with occasionally nuking herself. Act 2 onwards she's pretty foulproof even for a theoretical '"ironman" mode.
I found yrilet to be really strong, she does absurd dmg as the fight goes on. I've always had pasqal, and cassia and my main chatscter is a noble officer, pure buffer. The others I've been swapping alot using argenta, yrilet for quite a while now, abelard or heinrix. I was seriously disappointed in the space wolf... he feels terribly weak
pasqal is way stronger because there is a plasma rifle in the game that adds all your int * 2 to damage. they made a support character that strong with 1 simple item.
pascal can deal amazing damage with a plasma rifle that adds all his int to damage and multiplies it by 2. lets not forget area of effect damage which instantly gives you enough momentum for a heroic action
Pasqal is doing his part with strategems. It has very nice options that whole party benefits. It's enough to have one or two mega killers in the party. My main char is one of those superheros, a sanctic... And, no, thy is not using sanctic staff, but does a respected amount of damage worth of Argenta.
To be honest, I have had too many fights in the early game being disrupted by a sudden warp backlash or even demons being summoned. I really dislike the unpredictability of it, so I am not a big fan of the psyker abilities tbh. It is especially easy with Idara to go wild, triggering it quickly, and Cassia and Argenta deal plenty of damage so you don't need it. Granted, later on you can offset the risks with talents (and most mooks will not survive long enough for warp backlash to become a risk), but it just does not jive with what I like about tactical RPGs.
has the companion skill reset been patched, because i juste started to play the game and it appears i can reroll every character, in normal tho and i'm not even lvl 20 yet. But as i played DOS I & II straight up in tactician, as well as bg3, game feels Waaaaay to easy now. So i think i'll head up to unfair directly, make it the base difficulty. xD
How does Cameraderie provide such high bonuses? 500 divided by 5 party members is a 100% each, and reading the talent description leaves me puzzled. Was it nerfed? Am I reading it wrong?
i ran both cassia and pas, using both of your build. Would it be a waste to have kore than one grand Strategist then because zone dont stack? and would it be better to use cassia as master tactician so she can reset skills using insane regen?
Hey cRPG, in your guides, both Heinrix and the player's character use the sanctified staff, but isn't there just one in the game? Who should ideally use it, and what are the alternatives for the other? Thanks!
Would you say the commisar origin is useless? I made my character a commisar, but I don't think any of the special commisar abilities are really even worth using
Unless they nerf Cass so much, all you really need is Cass, Argenta, Officer RT and a sniper - just to pick off the really far enemies that are annoying tbh. Otherwise Cass+Argenta+Officer destroys everything
I just finished hard mode, now I'm starting my unfair run and I plan to do it without Cassia. I don't think that will be too hard, she breaks the game.
Wow! Just wow... Requirements to be considered for the team 1) Be an officer 2) Be capable of ~5K dmg per turn 3) 200% minimum defensive stats in armor, dodge, or both 4) Have ~300 in 2+ useful skills for campaign navigation
His builds are extremely strong, but also lead to extremely boring playstyle...it was the same in pathfinder, pretty much they were all "stack all the buffs, get a skald, right click on enemy and watch everything melt in 1 round" They work very well, but in the end it gets boring when all you do is "officer's turn, give turn to argenta, attack, another officer's turn, give turn to argenta, and so on until you can use finest hour on argenta/pasqal and win every fight before your enemy even has a turn unless they're out of sight" :P
You know, thinking about Cassia there, considering that her Navigator is so OP in the game, which fits with Navigators being OP In the lore, and considering Owlcat seemingly deliberately designed her to be that way, I don't understand why they didn't make Ulfar as OP as _he_ should be, considering the Space Wolf lore. His main characteristics should be through the roof straight out of the box. I wonder if it's Owlcat trying to get a little woke jab in.

@nublet-bz5qo ooh I need to find this plasma rifle!
Yrliet can be great, it's just that Argenta kinda has the edge for single target damage due to more Burst support for one shots.
Let's be honest, Pascal is just there for tech use lol
I couldn't tell you how many games I had one party member that was only there to fill a single function.
You don't have to bring him, any other char can do tech if you put points in it
pascal can deal amazing damage with a plasma rifle that adds all his int to damage and multiplies it by 2. lets not forget area of effect damage which instantly gives you enough momentum for a heroic action
Pasqal is doing his part with strategems. It has very nice options that whole party benefits. It's enough to have one or two mega killers in the party. My main char is one of those superheros, a sanctic... And, no, thy is not using sanctic staff, but does a respected amount of damage worth of Argenta.
Pasqual hits like a truck with any power or plasma weapon
Do you know if/how i can choose the order of my officer's turns? I rather have my main go 1st, before Jae and Cassia as he brings better buffs.
Wouldn't Dark Marchesa be the best plasma for him because it never overheats?
To be honest, I have had too many fights in the early game being disrupted by a sudden warp backlash or even demons being summoned. I really dislike the unpredictability of it, so I am not a big fan of the psyker abilities tbh. It is especially easy with Idara to go wild, triggering it quickly, and Cassia and Argenta deal plenty of damage so you don't need it. Granted, later on you can offset the risks with talents (and most mooks will not survive long enough for warp backlash to become a risk), but it just does not jive with what I like about tactical RPGs.
Playing with Cassia in party is like playing with cheats. I'll try second run on unfair mode without her and without Argenta.
Or...and go with me hear. Have BOTH of them on story mode. Way more fun.
Got any plans for something like a Tempestus Scion like build?
has the companion skill reset been patched, because i juste started to play the game and it appears i can reroll every character, in normal tho and i'm not even lvl 20 yet.
Is there not an over reliance on officers? I mean 4 officers seems overkill
Hey cRPG, in your guides, both Heinrix and the player's character use the sanctified staff, but isn't there just one in the game? Who should ideally use it, and what are the alternatives for the other? Thanks!
there are two sanctified staffs, dun remember where you get both tho. :-/
Would you say the commisar origin is useless? I made my character a commisar, but I don't think any of the special commisar abilities are really even worth using
went through the video twice and never saw where yo umentioned idira... is she one of the 6 companions?
Unless they nerf Cass so much, all you really need is Cass, Argenta, Officer RT and a sniper - just to pick off the really far enemies that are annoying tbh. Otherwise Cass+Argenta+Officer destroys everything
Can you do warior fire pysker put you self on fire and burn every one recomend forgeworld to not get prone herinn:)
i wanna replace cassia. shes to Op. how do promote to this team insteed?
Cassia seems to have been nerfed? I don't see any of her unique special talents. Any other builds?
Edit: Nevermind, my game was bugged.
I just finished hard mode, now I'm starting my unfair run and I plan to do it without Cassia. I don't think that will be too hard, she breaks the game.
She is indeed that good!
i want to do same. shes boringly buggy to good and unbalanced
Wow! Just wow...
Requirements to be considered for the team
1) Be an officer
2) Be capable of ~5K dmg per turn
3) 200% minimum defensive stats in armor, dodge, or both
4) Have ~300 in 2+ useful skills for campaign navigation
His builds are extremely strong, but also lead to extremely boring playstyle...it was the same in pathfinder, pretty much they were all "stack all the buffs, get a skald, right click on enemy and watch everything melt in 1 round"
They work very well, but in the end it gets boring when all you do is "officer's turn, give turn to argenta, attack, another officer's turn, give turn to argenta, and so on until you can use finest hour on argenta/pasqal and win every fight before your enemy even has a turn unless they're out of sight" :P
Any new builds for RT?
Thinking about Flamethrower + Melta & also Dodge Tank MC soon!
Good. Thanks to your guide I could easily execute Yrliet. Foul xenoheresy.
How did you get your stats this high? I'm currently lvl 40 and it's not even close😂
Personally, I prefer Abelard to Heinrix. Just because yeah Heinrix is good, but Abelard is your hype man.
Day 1767 of asking CRPGBRO for a winter child druid build.
I shot Jae and gave idira to the inquisition.
👍
This build got nerfed sadly s
You know, thinking about Cassia there, considering that her Navigator is so OP in the game, which fits with Navigators being OP In the lore, and considering Owlcat seemingly deliberately designed her to be that way, I don't understand why they didn't make Ulfar as OP as _he_ should be, considering the Space Wolf lore. His main characteristics should be through the roof straight out of the box. I wonder if it's Owlcat trying to get a little woke jab in.
Would certainly help if he had more gear choices!
Haha I'm first!
Seize the Initiative OP!
I must be crazy I find playtroughs with officers so boring.
They need to nerf Cassia- she ruined the game for me once I realized how strong she actually is.
